“Take Back The Night” Female Powerhouse Thriller Comes To Digital On March 4

Fueled by formidable female talent both in front of and behind the camera, the new suspense thriller comes to select theaters and digital platforms on March 4, 2022. The film is distributed by Dark Sky Films.

Finding herself the victim of a violent monster attack, Jane launches a vigilante campaign to hunt the beast that tried to kill her. Jane’s efforts intensify, but her troubling history of drug use and mental illness bubbles to the surface causing her family, community, and authorities to question the authenticity of her account. Suddenly alone in her fight, Jane starts to doubt her own memory of the attack…to doubt if Monster exists at all.

Shaquille O’Neal Hosts Free Screening Of Oscar Nominated Short Documentary “The Queen Of Basketball”

Shaquille ONealNBA Superstar and movie producer Shaquille O’Neal announced today he is hosting continuous screenings of an Oscar® nominated film at the Capri Theatre in Jackson, MS in honor of the birthday of the late Lusia “Lucy” Harris aka The Queen of Basketball born on February 10, 1955, in nearby Greenwood, MS. Ms. Harris is the subject of the Academy Award® nominated short subject documentary THE QUEEN OF BASKETBALL directed by two-time Academy Award® nominee Ben Proudfoot. Ms. Harris passed away on January 18, 2022, just three weeks prior to the Oscar® announcement. The film was produced in Ms. Harris’ hometown of Greenwood, Mississippi.

Executive Producer O’Neal states: “Today would have been Lucy’s 67th birthday; so, In her honor, I’m bringing the THE QUEEN OF BASKETBALL to the big screen for everyone in Mississippi. In honor of her life achievements and to celebrate her story’s Oscar® nomination, I’m encouraging parents to take their children, coaches to take their teams and black families with little black girls to experience Lucy’s story.”

The screenings at Jackson’s historic Capri Theatre, recently lovingly restored, will take place today – Thursday, February 10 starting at 11:00 AM and will run continuously with the last screening beginning at 4:15 PM.

Koffee Announces 2022 The Gifted North American TourSince bursting onto the global scene with her 2019 crossover anthem “Toast”, 21 year old Koffee has been at the forefront of a whole new generation of Jamaican musical talent whose influence now resonates around the world. Today, Koffee officially announces her 2022 North American The Gifted Tour dates produced by Live Nation. The 24-date run will see stops including two performances at Coachella and shows in New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, and more and will feature support from artists Ayra Starr and Buju at select dates. The tour kicks off on April 11th in Seattle and runs through early summer before wrapping up at Lightning In A Bottle Festival in Bakersfield on May 27th, marking a momentous return to the stage for the artist whom Billboardcalled “the most exciting reggae crossover artist in years.” Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 4th at 10 a.m. local time HERE.

The tour announcement follows Koffee’s most recent single and video, “West Indies” released last October. Produced by Iotosh, another of Jamaica’s young breakout stars, “West Indies” is a joyful celebration of Koffee’s West Indian heritage and a personal ode to the islands, full of her trademark messages of hope and positivity, accompanied by a video co-directed by Meji Alabi & Koffee herself that finds her crew and a host of inspiring local faces partying against a stunning backdrop of the cliffs of West End, Negril.

“West Indies” is just the latest musical statement from an artist that has reshaped, modernized and revitalized reggae, bringing it to a whole new audience. It comes on the back of an incredible few years for the Spanish Town-born artist, who made history in 2020 by becoming the first female and youngest ever artist to win the Best Reggae Album award at the GRAMMYS for her Raptureproject. Alongside a string of high profile musical collaborations (including J Hus, Gunna, Daniel Ceasar), Koffee also recently collaborated on campaigns with the likes of Nike Air Jordan and Clarks.

“Those Who Walk Away” Set For Release in February 11, 2022

New Trailer for “The Batman” Closes Out 2021

The trailer for one of the most anticipated films for 2022, The Batman, has been release to close out 2021. The film brings filmmaker Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) and War for the Planet of the Apes (2017), and star Robert Pattinson’s (High Life (2018), The Lighthouse (2019)) together in this upcoming superhero film based on the DC Comics iconic character Batman. Matt Reeves also wrote the screenplay with Peter Craig.

The new trailer, titled “The Bat and the Cat,” brings to focus the relationship between the Dark Knight and Zoë Kravitz’s Selina Kyle, as well as another iconic villain, Paul Dano’s ominous take on the Riddler and his plan for the Dark Knight and Gotham. From the looks of it, it seems that the Riddler has figured out Batman’s real identity.

The action-packed trailer also features car chases in the Batmobile and Bruce’s martial arts skills.

The Batman is scheduled for release in the United States on March 4, 2022.

“My Dead Dad” Sets World Premiere

In this charming coming-of-age drama, young burnout Lucas (Pedro Correa) is notified that his estranged father has passed away. Relieved to never have to hear about him again, Lucas learns that his father left him the responsibility of managing an apartment complex in Los Angeles. Determined to sell off the complex without a second thought, Lucas meets the eclectic tenants, and soon discovers his father was a different man than the one he knew.

“Every step of the way, from pre-production to post, we were faced with logistical and financial roadblocks, yet I can say that the many big things that could have easily shut production down somehow always missed us, lucky break after lucky break.” says writer/director Fabio Frey. “At the end of the day, I’m proud of what we made with the amazing supporters who believed in us. LAIKA continues 15th Anniversary Celebration with Screenings of All Its Films and Key Filmmaker Panels

LAIKA, whose five films (Missing Link, Kubo and the Two Strings, The Boxtrolls, ParaNorman and Coraline) have all received Oscar® nominations for Best Animated Film, will partner with the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry (OMSI) for multiple screenings of all its films as well as filmmaker discussions and a display of puppets and sets this October.
