Lionsgate has revealed first look for the coming-of-age comedy-drama film “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret”.

Featuring Rachel McAdams, Abby Ryder Fortson, Benny Safdie, and Kathy Bates, the film is based on the 1970 novel of the same name by Judy Blume. It is written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig (The Edge of Seventeen) and Gracie Films’ Academy Award®-winning producer James L. Brooks.

“Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret” is set for theatrical release on April 28, 2023, by Lionsgate.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

At 11, Margaret is moving to a new town and beginning to contemplate everything about life, friendship, and adolescence. She relies on her mother (McAdams), who offers loving support but is herself finding her own footing in a new place, and her grandmother Sylvia (Bates), who is coming to terms with finding happiness in the next phase of her life. For all three, questions of identity, one’s place in the world, and what brings meaning to a life will draw them closer together than ever before.

Foo Fighters, The Lumineers, And Paramore to Headline Boston Calling 2023

Boston Calling, acclaimed annual three-day music festival taking place Memorial Day Weekend, May 26 – 28, 2023 in Allston, MA, has announced its 2023 lineup today.

Headlining the festival on Friday, May 26th are Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Foo Fighters; The Lumineers, the soulful alt-folk hit makers from Denver, CO, will headline Saturday, May 27th; and alt-rock darlings Paramore, who are soon to release their upcoming sixth studio album, This is Why, will bring their energetic headlining set to Boston Calling on Sunday May 28th.

These renowned acts will top an incredible lineup of over 50 performers, including 20 artists with local ties. Rounding out the weekend are a slate of artists, ranging from breakout stars to heavy hitters, including seven-time GRAMMY® Award-winning singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette, playing her first show in Boston since 2012, influential art-punk trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and the pounding hard rock of Queens of the Stone Age. Joining these acts on this year’s lineup are The National, Noah Kahan, Bleachers, Niall Horan, The Flaming Lips, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Mt. Joy, Maren Morris,and many more.

The weekend also offers festivalgoers the chance to fall in love with new sounds, a Boston Calling hallmark since the festival’s debut in 2013. New Trailer for “Shotgun Wedding” Released

New Trailer for Shotgun Wedding ReleasedPrime Video has just release a new official trailer for Jennifer Lopez’s new film, Shotgun Wedding. The film also stars recent Golden Globe winner Jennifer Coolidge and Josh Duhamel.

Directed by Jason Moore, the romantic action comedy also stars Sônia Braga, Cheech Marin, Selena Tan, D’Arcy Carden, Callie Hernandez, Desmin Borges, Steve Coulter, Alberto Isaac, and Lenny Kravitz.

Coolidge is once again the scene stealer. She plays the mother of Josh Duhamel’s character Tom. “I’ve been looking forward to this moment ever since baby Tommy was cut out of my abdomen,” Coolidge’s Carol says, as wedding preparations get underway.

In the film, Darcy (Jennifer Lopez) and Tom (Josh Duhamel) get their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple get cold feet. But suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage. The couple must work together to save their loved ones — if they don’t end up killing each other first.

Shotgun Wedding premieres on Prime Video on January 27, 2023.

“Unicorn Wars” Technicolor Feature Sets Release

Unicorn Wars Technicolor Feature Sets ReleaseGKIDS, the acclaimed producer and distributor of animation for adult and family audiences, announced today it will release “Unicorn Wars”, the latest genre-bending animated feature for adults from Goya and Annecy Cristal-winning director Alberto Vásquez (Birdboy: The Forgotten Children) starting March 10, 2023.

The technicolor feature will be released theatrically in select markets nationwide, and will also be available on demand from March 10, 2023.

The technicolor horror-comedy featured in competition at the 2022 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and was an official selection at BFI London, Animation is Film, and Fantastic Fest.

“Unicorn Wars” marks the next collaboration between GKIDS and Alberto Vázquez, following GKIDS’ local distribution of the Goya Award-winning feature Birdboy: The Forgotten Children and short film Decorado.

Sundance 2023 Documentary Joonam Sets World Premiere“Joonam”, the documentary from director, editor, cinematographer Sierra Urich is set to premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Urich is a Persian-American interdisciplinary visual artist and filmmaker based in Vermont. The film features Behjat Samimi, Mitra Samimi-Urich, and Sierra Urich.

Named for a Farsi term of endearment, Joonam is infused with humor and heart like only a film about family could be.

Spurred by a provocative family memory and a lifetime of separation from the country her mother left behind, a young filmmaker delves into her mother and grandmother’s complicated pasts, and her own fractured Iranian identity.

The Unsettling Trailer Debut And Release Date AnnouncedDark Sky Films is set to bring the release of thriller film “The Unsettling” to theaters and VOD/digital on February 10th.

Written and directed by Harry Owens, the film stars Zephani Idoko, Bambadjan Bamba, Libby Munro, Benedikt Sebastian, Chloë Caro, Rojawn Khoshnam.

The film tells the story of Abena and Kwame, a Ghanaian couple, whho are struggling to recover from a devastating tragedy. They travel to Los Angeles for a vacation that they hope will help them find their way back to one another.

Instead, during an awkward dinner with estranged friends, Vivian and Anthony, Abena is increasingly terrorized by an evil possessing the house. The house that was meant to provide refuge slowly stalks her, consuming her sorrow and trapping her in a nightmare. As her terror grows, it ultimately engulfs all four with horrifying consequences.

New Cover Art Revealed For Brubaker and Phillips Night FeverImage Comics has revealed a new cover by Sean Phillips for the highly anticipated Night Fever by multiple Eisner Award winning duo Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips (Reckless, Pulp, Criminal, and Kill or Be Killed) with colors by Jacob Phillips (That Texas Blood).
