Strike Back Studios and Hideout Pictures continue their busy production schedule in 2022 having wrapped principal photography of “Spirit Halloween.”

When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in a deserted strip mall, three middle school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick or treating make a dare to spend the night locked inside the store Halloween night. But they soon find out that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit who has possessed the creepy animatronic characters. The kids embark on a thrilling and spooky adventure in order to survive the night and avoid becoming possessed themselves.

After a nationwide search the production found a group young up & coming actors to round out the cast including Donavan Colan (“Zoe,” “Getaway”), Dylan Martin Frankel (“Raven’s Home,” “Life & Beth”), Jaiden Smith (“Blue Bloods,” “The Mothership”), and Marissa Reyes (“Raven’s Home”).The film also offers audiences a cast filled with beloved veteran actors including Rachael Leigh Cook (“He’s All That,” “Love, Guaranteed”), Christopher Lloyd (“The Tender Bar”, “Back to the Future Trilogy,”) and Marla Gibbs (“El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, “227”).

Lionsgate’s “Escape The Field” Set For Release On May 6

Lionsgate’s latest horror thriller film from Emerson Moore has set its release date. The film is set to open on May 6, 2022, playing in select theaters and on VOD platforms.

Emerson Moore directed the film, which he wrote with Joshua Dobkin & Sean Wathen. It is set to play in New York (Cinema Village), Los Angeles (Lumiere Cinema), and key cities nationwide.

The film stars Jordan Claire Robbins, Theo Rossi, Tahirah Sharif, Julian Feder, Elena Juatco, and Shane West.

The fear is inescapable and the suspense nonstop in this gripping horror-thriller about six strangers who suddenly awaken in a remote, endless cornfield. Invasion Thriller “Occupation: Rainfall” Set All Platform Release

Sparke Films and Saban have announced the transaction and subscription based release of Luke Sparke’s space invasion action packed sequel Occupation: Rainfall.

2022 BAFTA Awards: “The Power of the Dog” Wins Best Film

It was a big day for “The Power of The Dog”, with the film winning the top prize at the 2022 BAFTA Film Awards. Netflix’s Western drama also won best director for Jane Campion.

Based on Thomas Savage’s 1967 novel of the same name, the Western psychological drama came into the night with eight nominations.

The ceremony at Royal Albert Hall in London also brought Warner Bros plenty to celebrate, as its sci-fi epic “Dune” dominated in the technical categories categories, five trophies which is the most for the night. The film won for Production Design, Special Visual Effects, Cinematography, Sound and Original Score.

For the top acting cateogires, Joanna Scanlan won leading actress for After Love, and Will Smith won best actor for King Richard.

This year’s BAFTA Awards, which was hosted by Rebel Wilson, saw the return of a full in person ceremony, after last year’s mostly virtual show.

Trailer And Poster For Jennifer Reeder’s “Night’s End” Premieres On Shudder March 31st

Shudder has just dropped the official poster and trailer for Jennifer Reeder’s latest film “Night’s End”. Directed by Jennifer Reeder (V/H/S/94, Knives and Skin) and written by Brett Nevue, Night’s End is set to debut worldwide on Shudder on March 31.

In Night’s End, an anxious shut-in unwittingly moves into a haunted apartment and hires a mysterious stranger to perform an exorcism that takes a horrific turn.

The film also stars Lawrence Grimm (Chicago Med), Daniel Kyri (Chicago Fire), Theo Germaine (The Politician), and Morgan Reesh (Blood Below the Skin).

Night’s End will premiere on Shudder on March 31st and will be available on Shudder US.

NBA Superstar and movie producer Shaquille O’Neal announced today he is hosting continuous screenings of an Oscar® nominated film at the Capri Theatre in Jackson, MS in honor of the birthday of the late Lusia “Lucy” Harris aka The Queen of Basketball born on February 10, 1955, in nearby Greenwood, MS. Ms. Harris is the subject of the Academy Award® nominated short subject documentary THE QUEEN OF BASKETBALL directed by two-time Academy Award® nominee Ben Proudfoot. Ms. Harris passed away on January 18, 2022, just three weeks prior to the Oscar® announcement. The film was produced in Ms. Harris’ hometown of Greenwood, Mississippi.

Executive Producer O’Neal states: “Today would have been Lucy’s 67th birthday; so, In her honor, I’m bringing the THE QUEEN OF BASKETBALL to the big screen for everyone in Mississippi. In honor of her life achievements and to celebrate her story’s Oscar® nomination, I’m encouraging parents to take their children, coaches to take their teams and black families with little black girls to experience Lucy’s story.”

Koffee Announces 2022 The Gifted North American Tour

Since bursting onto the global scene with her 2019 crossover anthem “Toast”, 21 year old Koffee has been at the forefront of a whole new generation of Jamaican musical talent whose influence now resonates around the world. Today, Koffee officially announces her 2022 North American The Gifted Tour dates produced by Live Nation. The 24-date run will see stops including two performances at Coachella and shows in New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, and more and will feature support from artists Ayra Starr and Buju at select dates. The tour kicks off on April 11th in Seattle and runs through early summer before wrapping up at Lightning In A Bottle Festival in Bakersfield on May 27th, marking a momentous return to the stage for the artist whom Billboardcalled “the most exciting reggae crossover artist in years.” Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 4th at 10 a.m. local time HERE.

The tour announcement follows Koffee’s most recent single and video, “West Indies” released last October.
