Strike Back Studios and Hideout Pictures continue their busy production schedule in 2022 having wrapped principal photography of “Spirit Halloween.”

When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in a deserted strip mall, three middle school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick or treating make a dare to spend the night locked inside the store Halloween night. But they soon find out that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit who has possessed the creepy animatronic characters. The kids embark on a thrilling and spooky adventure in order to survive the night and avoid becoming possessed themselves.

After a nationwide search the production found a group young up & coming actors to round out the cast including Donavan Colan (“Zoe,” “Getaway”), Dylan Martin Frankel (“Raven’s Home,” “Life & Beth”), Jaiden Smith (“Blue Bloods,” “The Mothership”), and Marissa Reyes (“Raven’s Home”).The film also offers audiences a cast filled with beloved veteran actors including Rachael Leigh Cook (“He’s All That,” “Love, Guaranteed”), Christopher Lloyd (“The Tender Bar”, “Back to the Future Trilogy,”) and Marla Gibbs (“El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, “227”).

Emerson Moore directed the film, which he wrote with Joshua Dobkin & Sean Wathen. It is set to play in New York (Cinema Village), Los Angeles (Lumiere Cinema), and key cities nationwide.

The film stars Jordan Claire Robbins, Theo Rossi, Tahirah Sharif, Julian Feder, Elena Juatco, and Shane West.

2022 BAFTA Awards: “The Power of the Dog” Wins Best Film

It was a big day for “The Power of The Dog”, with the film winning the top prize at the 2022 BAFTA Film Awards. Netflix’s Western drama also won best director for Jane Campion.

Based on Thomas Savage’s 1967 novel of the same name, the Western psychological drama came into the night with eight nominations.

The ceremony at Royal Albert Hall in London also brought Warner Bros plenty to celebrate, as its sci-fi epic “Dune” dominated in the technical categories categories, five trophies which is the most for the night. The film won for Production Design, Special Visual Effects, Cinematography, Sound and Original Score.

For the top acting cateogires, Joanna Scanlan won leading actress for After Love, and Will Smith won best actor for King Richard.

This year’s BAFTA Awards, which was hosted by Rebel Wilson, saw the return of a full in person ceremony, after last year’s mostly virtual show.

Trailer And Poster For Jennifer Reeder’s “Night’s End” Premieres On Shudder March 31st

shudder nights endShudder has just dropped the official poster and trailer for Jennifer Reeder’s latest film “Night’s End”. Directed by Jennifer Reeder (V/H/S/94, Knives and Skin) and written by Brett Nevue, Night’s End is set to debut worldwide on Shudder on March 31.

In Night’s End, an anxious shut-in unwittingly moves into a haunted apartment and hires a mysterious stranger to perform an exorcism that takes a horrific turn.

The film also stars Lawrence Grimm (Chicago Med), Daniel Kyri (Chicago Fire), Theo Germaine (The Politician), and Morgan Reesh (Blood Below the Skin).

Night’s End will premiere on Shudder on March 31st and will be available on Shudder US.

Ms. Harris is the subject of the Academy Award® nominated short subject documentary THE QUEEN OF BASKETBALL directed by two-time Academy Award® nominee Ben Proudfoot. Ms. Harris passed away on January 18, 2022, just three weeks prior to the Oscar® announcement. The film was produced in Ms. Harris’ hometown of Greenwood, Mississippi.

Executive Producer O’Neal states: “Today would have been Lucy’s 67th birthday; so, In her honor, I’m bringing the THE QUEEN OF BASKETBALL to the big screen for everyone in Mississippi. Today, Koffee officially announces her 2022 North American The Gifted Tour dates produced by Live Nation. The 24-date run will see stops including two performances at Coachella and shows in New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, and more and will feature support from artists Ayra Starr and Buju at select dates.
