Stunning New “Dune: Part Two” Trailer Released

Dune Part Two has finally released its stunning new official trailer, giving fans a first look of what to expect from the film.

The film, directed by Denis Villeneuve, is a follow-up to the 2021 blockbuster hit Dune, which was itself an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic novel of the same name.

The trailer gives fans a glimpse of the epic scale of the film, as well as returning cast Timothée Chalamet as Paul, and Zendaya as Chani. Also returning are Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista and Javier Bardem and introduces new characters played by Austin Butler and Florence Pugh.

The film will follow Paul, as he joins the Fremen and begins a spiritual and martial journey to become Muad’dib, while trying to prevent the horrible but inevitable future he’s witnessed: a Holy War in his name, spreading throughout the known universe.

The film is set to be released by Warner Bros on November 3, 2023.

“Some Like It Hot” Leads 76th Annual Tony Awards with 13 Nods

Broadway’s Some Like It Hot is leading the nominations for the 76th Annual Tony Awards. Based on the 1959 film of the same name, the musical comedy received 14 nominations, the most for the prestigious awards ceremony.

Some Like It Hot, which opened on Broadway in March of this year, is set in 1929, and follows two musicians who witness a murder and go into hiding by posing as women in an all-female band. Chaos ensues as they navigate their new identities and try to keep their true gender a secret.

Director Casey Nicholaw is recognized for his direction and choreography. Nicholaw, a Tony Award winner himself, is known for his work on hit shows like The Book of Mormon and Aladdin.

Tony Curtis famously played the role of Joe/Josephine in the original film, but on stage, the part is played by Tony Award nominee Santino Fontana. Fontana, who is known for his roles in Frozen and Tootsie, earns him a nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical.

Playing opposite Fontana is Laura Osnes, who plays the role of Sugar Kane, the sultry singer who catches Joe/Josephine’s eye. Osnes, was previously nominated for her work in Bonnie and Clyde and Cinderella.

Some Like It Hot has also been recognized for its music and lyrics, written by Tony Award winner Marc Shaiman and his collaborator Scott Wittman.

Overall, Some Like It Hot’s impressive 14 nominations have solidified its place as one of the most exciting and successful shows on Broadway this year.

The 76th Annual Tony Awards will take place on June 5th, 2023.

The Untold Tales Of I Hate Fairyland Set For Release This July

Eisner Award winning writer Skottie Young will bring Gert fans an all-new, five issue anthology of new Fairyland tales in the upcoming, The Unbelievable, Unfortunately Mostly Unreadable & Nearly Unpublishable Untold Tales of I Hate Fairyland. This verbosely titled miniseries will be written and drawn by a stellar lineup of contributing creators and land on shelves this July from Image Comics.

In this first issue, Young reunites with Bully Wars co-creator Aaron Conley to pit Gert against an uncouth barbarian in “Bruud the Brutal.” And in “Don’t Trust the P.I.G. in Apartment 23,” by Dean Rankine (Simpsons Comics, Invader Zim), Gert finds herself at the wrong end of a classic fairy tale.

What if a random text message led to the love of your life? That is the premise to Jim Strouse’s upcoming romantic comedy drama film “Love Again”.

The film stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sam Heughan, and Celine Dion who is portraying a fictionalized version of herself in her first film role.

In this romantic comedy, dealing with the loss of her fiancé, Mira Ray sends a series of romantic texts to his old cell phone number… not realizing the number was reassigned to Rob Burns’ new work phone. A journalist, Rob is captivated by the honesty in the beautifully confessional texts. When he’s assigned to write a profile of megastar Celine Dion (playing herself in her first film role), he enlists her help in figuring out how to meet Mira in person…and win her heart.

Trailer Premiere: Peter Callahan’s “Out And About” Set For Release On May 16

The film was written and directed by it star, Peter Callahan, whose film Against the Current, starring Joseph Fiennes, was critically acclaimed at the Sundance Film Festivasl. The 2023 Tribeca Festival, presented by OKX, today announced its audio storytelling lineup, including 18 world premieres from independent and established narrative audio creators and 11 “Live-from-Tribeca” events. This year’s Festival, which takes place June 7-18, will highlight its audio storytelling selection from June 12-16, connecting creators and listeners in-person at Tribeca.

The lineup includes 11 “Live-from-Tribeca” events, from exclusive conversations with audio creators to live tapings of hit shows, such as an audio artists panel hosted by Avery Trufelman (Articles of Interest, 99% Invisible); a live taping of Crooked Media’s Pod Save America with guest co-host Alex Wagner; a 25th anniversary rewatch event of Will & Grace followed by a live taping of SmartLess Media’s Just Jack & Will featuring Sean Hayes and Eric McCormack; a live taping of Selected Shorts with New York Times Bestselling author Roxane Gay; a live taping of New York Times Audio’s Modern Love with Kim Cattrall; and a live taping of Sonic Union’s Perreo 101 followed by a musical performance by Cuban artists Yotuel and Beatriz Luengo.

Chance the Rapper Celebrates Acid Rap Ten Year Anniversary

Today, Chance the Rapper kicks off the festivities to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of his record-breaking, Billboard-charting mixtape Acid Rap.
