Last week saw the surprise appearance online of a teaser trailer for “Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home,” supposedly Danny McBride’s Crocodile Dundee sequel out this summer.

Now, the fun continues in this latest full-length trailer which features famous Aussie actors such as Margot Robbie, Chris Hemsworth, Jackman, and Russell Crowe supposedly playing a villain. Isla Fisher, Ruby Rose, and Luke Bracey are also in the trailer, as well as Chris Hemsworth’s brother Liam.

There’s definitely plenty of potential here, possibly one of the most star-studded films to come out in awhile, and sure to set the boxoffic on fire once it opens across the globe.

Exciting as this sounds, the movie is in fact a viral marketing campaign. At least according to this article from Brisbane Times, which reveals that the supposed reboot is part of an advertising campaign for Australian tourism, set to air during next month’s NFL Super Bowl, February 3 on NBC.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis cause, you know, we all want the movie to be real:

Crocodile Dundee is back. Well, actually, he’s missing in the Outback. And the only person who might be able to find him is the loudmouthed American son no one knew he had. Introducing Danny McBride as Brian Dundee. This son of a legend is forced to channel his Aussie roots as he teams up with a local expert, Wally Jr., played by Chris Hemsworth. Together, they’ll embark on the ultimate adventure in the land down under. It’s time to live up to the family name. DUNDEE.

New Action-Packed “Pacific Rim Uprising” Trailer Plus New Poster!

By Creative Media Times

Universal Pictures

Returning Kaiju means action galore, and in the latest Pacific Rim Uprising trailer, released by Legendary Pictures on Wednesday, there is no shortage of monster versus giant mech smackdown.

“How did they get into our world?” asks Jake Pentecost (son of Idris Elba’s Stacker Pentecost from the first Pacific Rim). “Someone let them in,” returning character Dr. Gottlieb replies. “Someone from our world.”

While the first trailer focused more on Boyega’s character, this new one shows more details about the story, a new human landscape since the initial attack, some jaeger vs. jaeger action, and more importantly a kaiju-jaeger hybrid. Surprise!

To hype the new trailer, Universal Pictures and Legendary also released a brand new poster for Pacific Rim Uprising.

Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil) took over the reins as director after Guillermo del Toro stepped aside to focus on The Shape of Water, a decision that clearly paid off given its current multiple awards run. Del Toro is credited for the story.

‘Uprising’ picks up ten years after the events of the Battle of the Breach in the The 2013 original, when the Jaeger program has become a powerful global defense force, and the Pan Pacific Defense Corps calls upon a new generation of elite fighters against Kaiju threat.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s John Boyega is trading starships for Jaegers in the sequel as Jake, while Scott Eastwood is his partner Jaeger pilot Nate Lambert. Joining Boyega and Eastwood are Pacific Rim alums Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi, and Burn Gorman.

Pacific Rim: Uprising is scheduled to stomp into theaters on March 23, 2018.

Guillermo del Toro’s lavish romantic fantasy “The Shape of Water” dominated 2018 Oscar nominations, earning 13 nods including best picture, best director and best actress for star Sally Hawkins, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Tuesday morning.

Not far behind were “Dunkirk” with eight nominations, and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” with seven.

This year, nine films were nominated for best picture, with Call Me By Your Name, Lady Bird, Darkest Hour, Get Out, Phantom Thread and The Post completing the list.

Set against the backdrop of Cold War-era, “The Shape of Water” tells the story of mute woman Elisa, who falls in love with a captured humanoid-amphibian creature housed at a high-security government laboratory where she works as a janitor.

Equal parts fantasy and romance, ‘Water’ continues director del Toro’s fascination with monsters and elements of dark fantasy in a historical setting similarly seen in Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), the director’s last major awards contender.
