35th Anniversary GHOSTBUSTERS Original Motion Picture Score Available Digitally For The First Time On June 7th.

In honor of the 35th anniversary of Ghostbusters’ 1984 theatrical debut, Sony Music announces a special reissue of “GHOSTBUSTERS (ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SCORE)” with music by legendary film composer ELMER BERNSTEIN (The Magnificent Seven, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Age of Innocence).
Available now to preorder, the anniversary edition arrives in digital formats for the very first time (in both standard and hi resolutions) and on CD Friday, June 7 and on vinyl Friday, July 19.

The collection features music from the iconic blockbuster, newly mixed and remastered from the score’s original multi-tracks, as well as new artwork, commentary from Elmer Bernstein’s son, Peter, and four previously unreleased tracks.

Of the 35th anniversary edition, Peter Bernstein, son of the late Elmer Bernstein, says, “As one of the original orchestrators on Ghostbusters, it has been very satisfying and also very moving to work on this soundtrack release 35 years down the road. It is a great movie with great music and we had a whole lot of fun creating it. I am very pleased to see it released in its original form.”

Shia LaBeouf And Mel Gibson To Star In “Rothchild”

Mel Gibson is about to join Shia LaBeouf in the upcoming satire “Rothchild”, a black comedy set to be directed by Jon S. Baird, according to Variety.

LaBeouf set to play Becket Rothchild, a family outcast who plots to get back into the family and its fortune.

As a charismatic and intelligent adult, Becket penetrates his way into the family, which sets him up into a clash with sinister family patriarch Whitelaw (Gibson) and Rothchild family members.

“Rothchild” was originally a 2014 Blacklist script written by John Patton Ford and being produced by Los Angeles-based production company Unified Pictures.

Scottish film director Jon S. Baird recently directed the biographical comedy-drama film “Stan & Ollie” which received positive reviews from critics during its release last October.

“Rothchild is a satirical and thrilling ride, and I am elated to be working with a filmmaker like Jon Baird, who not only has an incredible track record of guiding award-winning performances, but is crafting this film to be an action packed cautionary tale on wealth and power,” said producer Keith Kjarval.

Legendary Actress And Singer Doris Day Dies At 97

Doris Day, the legendary girl-next door singer and actress who appeared in “Pillow Talk” and many other 1950s and 1960s romantic comedies has died, according to the Associated Press. She died at her home in Carmel Valley, California. She was 97.

Day is one of the most popular and successful Hollywood actresses of all time, once topping both the billboard music and box-office charts.

In 1959, she co-starred with Rock Hudson in the romantic comedy film Pillow Talk. Directed by Michael Gordon, the film earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination. She also starred in boxoffice hits Please Don’t Eat the Daisies (1960) and That Touch of Mink (1962) among others.

Day also had a very successful music career. In 1945, she had two highly successful records “Sentimental Journey” and “My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time” with Les Brown & His Band of Renown, and between 1947 and 1967, she has recorded over 650 songs.

Her singing talent came in handy in the 1956 Alfred Hitchcock boxoffice hit suspense film The Man Who Knew Too Much, where she costarred with James Stewart.

In the film, she sang her rendition of the legendary song “Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)”. Written by the team of Jay Livingston and Ray Evans, the song reached number two on Billboard Hot 100 chart, then later won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

The song was also used as a theme song in the sitcom “The Doris Day Show”, which aired on CBS from 1968 to 1973, later becoming her signature song.

Day also topped the US singles chart with “Love Somebody” (w/ Buddy Clark) in 1948, “A Guy Is a Guy” in 1952, and “Secret Love” in 1954.

She later became an advocate of animal rights, founding the Doris Day Pet Foundation in 1978, now known as Doris Day Animal Foundation (DDAF).

Jonathan Hickman Unveils An Exclusive First-Look For His Radical Plans For The X-Men

Today, Jonathan Hickman (Fantastic Four, The Avengers, Infinity, Secret Wars) revealed an exclusive first look – and a look forward – for his highly-anticipated upcoming series, HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X!

Beginning this July through September, all the current X-titles will come to an end as Hickman reshapes the mutant world forever starting with HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X. Speaking with Comicbook.com Hickman shared his long-term plans for the X-Men with fans and retailers everywhere.

“We needed to sell the idea that this is what we’re going to be doing for the next few years,” said Hickman. “We wanted to be clear to the fans, to the stores, and just as importantly, to the creators who are going to be staffing these books in the future. We wanted the message to be very clear: This is a whole new era for the X-Men. This is what we’re doing now.”

Fans of the current series will see that the X-universe has been dovetailing to this new era, which will build from every major X-Men milestone since 1963 up through all of today’s fan-favorite X-Men series.

Disney Releases First Trailer for “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil”

Angelina Jolie returns to the titular role of the horned villainess and she’s back to her ways. Elle Fanning’s Aurora is also back, while Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Skrein and Chiwetel Ejiofor are new to the cast.

Appropriately set to “Season of the Witch,” the trailer features of beautiful visuals and seem to indicate a conflict between her and Pfeiffer’s Queen Ingrith.

“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” picks up several years after the original 2014 film “Maleficent,” a character loosely based on the Wicked fairy godmother and re-imagined the classic story of Sleeping Beauty.

Joachim Rønning directs the upcoming fantasy adventure film from Walt Disney Pictures. Rønning previously co-helmed “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”.

“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” is set for release on October 18, 2019.

A fantasy adventure that picks up several years after Maleficent, in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora, Maleficent II continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy (Angelina Jolie) and the soon to be Queen (Elle Fanning), as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.

“Killing Eve” Wins Big at BAFTA TV Awards

BBC America hit show “Killing Eve” was the big winner Sunday at BAFTA’s British Academy Television Awards, winning top awards such as best drama series, best actress for Jodie Comer and best supporting actress for Fiona Shaw.

The BAFTA TV Awards were held at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday night and was hosted by Graham Norton.

Other winners include Benedict Cumberbatch, who took home Leading Actor for “Patrick Melrose,” and Ben Whishaw for Supporting Actor for his role in “A Very British Scandal.”

HBO’s “Succession” took home the international category, winning over previous winner “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

“IT Chapter Two” Creepy Trailer Released

Pennywise is back, as Warner Bros. releases the very first trailer for director Andy Muschietti’s “IT Chapter Two,” the sequel to the 2017 boxoffice phenomenon “It”.

The trailer starts with a grown-up Beverly Marsh (Jessica Chastain), returning to her childhood home and finds that a creepy old woman now lives there.

“You know what they say about Dary,” the elderly woman says. “No one who dies here ever really dies.” Things escalates into really creepy territory pretty quickly from there. Just as she tries to leave, all hell broke lose.

Set 27 years after the first films, we see shots of the Losers Club all grown up and as well as flashbacks to their younger selves. The group revisits the town of Derry, Maine, and about to face the horrors of the past.

In addition to Chastain, the film features James McAvoy as Bill Denbrough, Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom, Bill Hader as Richie Tozier, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon, Andy Bean as Stan Uris and James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak.

We also see the child actors who starred in the first film, such as Jaeden Martell, Sophia Lillis, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Finn Wolfhard, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer and Wyatt Oleff.

Bill Skarsgård also returns as Pennywise the Clown. The first film’s director Muschietti and writer Gary Dauberman are also back.

It Chapter Two is set for release on September 6, 2019.

Toy Story 4: “Making a New Friend” TV Spot Released

“Have you ever wondered what makes a toy, a toy?,” Pixar’s latest TV spot for its upcoming animated comedy offers us an existential and thought-provoking question.

Here we see a glimpse of the origins of a new character Forky, a spork with googly eyes designed by Bonnie. Woody soon meet Forky in Bonnie’s backpack and introduce him to everyone.

“Everyone, Bonnie made a friend in class,” Woody tells the gang. “She literally made a new friend.”

The film, which continues the events from Toy Story 3, also features the return of voices of Joan Cusack as Jessie, and Estelle Harris as the Potato Heads. Josh Cooley directs the film from Stephany Folsom’s script.

“Toy Story 4” is set for release on June 21.

Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie.
