The 2022 Peabody Awards have officially announced nominations for this year’s honors. The nominees represent the most compelling and empowering stories in media for the last year.

“Following yet another turbulent year, Peabody is proud to honor an array of stories that poignantly and powerfully help us make sense of the challenges we face as a nation and world,” Peabody executive director Jeffrey Jones said in a statement. “Demonstrating the immense power of stories, these nominees exposed our societal failures and celebrated the best of the human spirit. They are all worthy of recognition, and Peabody is proud to celebrate them.”

PBS led the nomninations with 13 programs as finalists, followed by HBO with eight and Hulu and Netflix with five apiece.

The 30 winners of the 82nd annual Peabody Awards is set to be announced from June 6 through June 9.

“Marking The Cut” Season 3 Renewed At Amazon

Prime Video’s reality television series “Making The Cut”, is set to return for its third season. Hosted and executive produced by Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, the fashion competition series is set to premiere this summer.

The third season is set to feature 10 fashion designers and entrepreneurs from around the world to compete for $1 million, a mentorship with Amazon Fashion, and an opportunity to create an exclusive co-brand with Amazon Fashion and sell their existing collection in Amazon Fashion’s Making the Cut store.

“I am excited for ‘Making the Cut’ to return this summer for its third season,” Klum said. “I was so happy to be reunited with Tim, Nicole and Jeremy as we searched for the next great global fashion brand among our most talented group of designers yet! This season’s fashion far exceeded our expectations and there are so many amazing looks that I cannot wait to wear myself.”

Today, Eddie Vedder announced that the sixth annual Ohana Festival, which he founded, will take place from September 30th-October 2nd at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, CA. Headliners on the beachfront stage include Eddie Vedder, Stevie Nicks, and P!nk. Spirit halloween Movie Coming This Fall

Strike Back Studios and Hideout Pictures continue their busy production schedule in 2022 having wrapped principal photography of “Spirit Halloween.”

When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in a deserted strip mall, three middle school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick or treating make a dare to spend the night locked inside the store Halloween night. But they soon find out that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit who has possessed the creepy animatronic characters. The kids embark on a thrilling and spooky adventure in order to survive the night and avoid becoming possessed themselves.

After a nationwide search the production found a group young up & coming actors to round out the cast including Donavan Colan (“Zoe,” “Getaway”), Dylan Martin Frankel (“Raven’s Home,” “Life & Beth”), Jaiden Smith (“Blue Bloods,” “The Mothership”), and Marissa Reyes (“Raven’s Home”).The film also offers audiences a cast filled with beloved veteran actors including Rachael Leigh Cook (“He’s All That,” “Love, Guaranteed”), Christopher Lloyd (“The Tender Bar”, “Back to the Future Trilogy,”) and Marla Gibbs (“El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, “227”).

Korn And Evanescence Announce 2022 Summer Tour

On the heels of their Spring tour, Korn announces a summer tour with fellow rock culture icons Evanescence, produced by Live Nation. Accompanied by special guests varying across select dates, the 18-city tour kicks off on August 16th at Ball Arena in Denver, CO making stops across the U.S. in Boston, Chicago, Houston and more before wrapping up in Ridgefield, WA on September 16th.

“We’re looking forward to going on tour this summer and bringing our friends, Evanescence, out,” said Jonathan Davis of Korn. “Whenever Amy comes to one of our shows, I always love seeing her on the side of the stage watching the whole set and rocking out. We’re gonna have a great time on this tour, and we can’t wait to see you there.”

“I fell hard into Korn’s music in high school. It was an inspiration during the formation of my own band. The chances we’ve had to play together over the years are special, a part of our history. NBA Star De’Aaron Fox and eigoMANGA Announces Release Date For “Swipa The Fox” Manga

Comic book publishing company eigoMANGA will release the original English language manga “Swipa The Fox” which features NBA point guard for the Sacramento Kings, De’Aaron Fox to comic book stores on June 15, 2022. “Swipa The Fox” the manga is written by Natashia McGough Clarke and Nnamdi Ikeakor. The artwork is produced by Paulo Sampaio.

Here, De’Aaron Fox accidentally ventures into a basketball video game metaverse while his video game counterpart causes havoc in the real world. De’Aaron has to harness all of his world-class basketball skills to play his way out of the digital game and return to reality.

“Swipa The Fox” aims to delve into a fascinating story that combines basketball and artificial intelligence. BMI Composers Stephanie Economou, Kevin Kiner and John Murphy Talk Scoring for Anti-Heroes at WonderCon 2022

BMI and White Bear PR presented “The Music of Anti-Heroes: From Suicide Squad to Brainwave” panel at WonderCon 2022. The discussion featured prominent BMI composers Stephanie Economou (Jupiter’s Legacy), Kevin Kiner (Peacemaker) and John Murphy (The Suicide Squad).

Throughout the panel, the composers elaborated on their creative process and where they find their inspiration when scoring for some of the most iconic villains like Harley Quinn, Peacemaker and Brainwave. Each composer gave insight on their influences and explained the complex details behind some of our favorite gut-wrenching moments and how music plays a key role in bringing out those emotions.

Additionally, the panelists dove into the start of their careers. Stephanie had a more traditional journey and graduated from UCLA, and Kevin and John both started out as musicians in a band; these experiences made them the composers they are today and have helped shape their own creative styles. The panel closed with an audience Q&A, where the panelists shared some advice for up-and-coming composers.

Lionsgate’s “Escape The Field” Set For Release On May 6

Lionsgate’s latest horror thriller film from Emerson Moore has set its release date. The film is set to open on May 6, 2022, playing in select theaters and on VOD platforms.

Emerson Moore directed the film, which he wrote with Joshua Dobkin & Sean Wathen. It is set to play in New York (Cinema Village), Los Angeles (Lumiere Cinema), and key cities nationwide.

The film stars Jordan Claire Robbins, Theo Rossi, Tahirah Sharif, Julian Feder, Elena Juatco, and Shane West.
