Wes Craig’s Popular New Series “Kaya” Rushed Back To Print

Image Comics has rushed the popular new fantasy series Kaya—by Deadly Class dynamo Wes Craig—back to print in order to keep up with escalating customer demand.

“Kaya and her supporting cast have become very real to me since I started working on this book,” said Craig. “So I can’t tell you how excited I am to find out readers and comic shops can feel that and want to be part of it. I’m very grateful.”

Lauded by bestselling writer Kieron Gillen as “an oasis of joy,” Kaya immediately skyrocketed in popularity upon its release last week. The series promises ongoing adventure and follows a pair of siblings surviving in a world of monsters and mutants.

Following Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters and Star Wars: Crimson Reign, writer Charles Soule will complete his trilogy of game-changing Star Wars comic book epics this November in Star Wars: Hidden Empire.

The five-issue limited series will continue to spotlight the breakout character from Solo: A Star Wars Story, Lady Qi’ra. Since her comics debut, the criminal leader has had a tremendous impact on Marvel’s Star Wars comics storytelling, and Star Wars: Hidden Empire will see Qi’ra set her bold overarching plan in motion: ridding the galaxy of the Sith.

The series will be drawn by artist Steven Cummings, who also worked on Star Wars: Crimson Reign. In addition, Cummings has crafted a stunning connecting piece that will adorn all five issues. These variant covers show some of the stars of the saga including Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, the Knights of Ren, and more key characters who will take sides in the upcoming conflict.

“Hidden Empire is set between Episodes V and VI. So, there are things this story can do and things it can’t,” Soule explained to StarWars.com. “That said, I think it will deliver a deeply satisfying conclusion to Qi’ra’s arc here, and readers will understand how her choices in this story impacted events all across the Star Wars galaxy at this time.”

“As with many of the comics and novels and ancillary stories beyond the films, the idea is to deepen the experience and understanding of the characters. There are direct connections here to both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi — and beyond — and I think the fans will be very happy.”

Born and raised in East Atlanta, Grammy nominated JID grew up on his parents’ collection of classic funk/soul LPs, and broke onto the scene with his 2015 EP, DiCaprio. HARDY Announces Headline the mockingbird & THE CROW Tour

Big Loud noisemaker HARDY is on the verge of his biggest year yet, unveiling today the mockingbird & THE CROW Tour, a 16-date headline run presented by Live Nation launching February 16, 2023, in Indianapolis, Ind.

Joined by country chart-topper Jameson Rodgers and rock newcomers Blame My Youth for the trek, the thoughtfully curated lineup is an extension of HARDY’s just-announced sophomore record of the same name. Matt Lesniewski’s Faceless And The Family Launches Tuesday

The Eisner-nominated creator Matt Lesniewski launches his creator-owned graphic novel on Zoop!

Now live on Zoop is a new campaign to fund the latest outing from rising star and Eisner-nominated Matt Lesniewski, called Faceless And The Family. The story can best be described as a sci-fi / post apocalyptic journey where a strange and lovable group of misfits form a family. Think of it like an even weirder, yet heartfelt spin on The Wizard of Oz, but completely its own.

The book has been in production for a while and had numerous homes before landing at Zoop to be crowdfunded. Lesniewski is a one-man creative team, writing, drawing, and lettering this personal love letter to comics. The campaign runs for 30 days, and backers will receive a 120-page completed story in softcover format. Other rewards include signatures, remarques, sketches, commissions, and even original pages from the book.

Official Trailer for Shudder’s V/H/S/99 Released

The film features five new stories from each of the filmmakers Maggie Levin (Into The Dark: My Valentine), Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City), Flying Lotus (Kuso), Tyler MacIntyre (Tragedy Girls) and Joseph & Vanessa Winter (Deadstream).

V/H/S/99 will be released exclusively on Shudder on October 20th. The film will be avaiable in Shudder US, Shudder CA, Shudder UKI and Shudder ANZ. V/H/S/99 debuted at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival.

Guillermo Del Toro’s “Pinocchio” Set To Be Closing Night Film At “Animation Is Film” Festival

ANIMATION IS FILM (AIF) has announced its Closing Night film: GUILLERMO DEL TORO’S PINOCCHIO. The closing night will be held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater and will host the multi-award-winning director, Guillermo del Toro on Saturday, October 29. Also, the festival will screen the World Premiere of the English-language dub of ONE PIECE FILM RED as the Centerpiece of the festival, on Saturday, October 22, ahead of its North American theatrical release on November 4.

Netflix has announced the release of the single “Who Do You Think You Are” by Kiana Ledè & Cautious Clay from The School for Good and Evil (Soundtrack from the Netflix Film).
