Pacific Rim: Final Breach Graphic Novel Trilogy is coming to Kickstarter from Legendary & Rocketship

With a new cover featuring the likenesses of Charlie Hunnam (Raleigh), John Boyega (Jake Pentecost), and Charlie Day (Newt), Pacific Rim: Final Breach is written by Joshua Fialkov (Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender) with art by E.J. Su (Transformers). Partnering with Rocketship Entertainment, the book trilogy is being pre-sold on Kickstarter paired with exclusive merchandise available only through the campaign. SDCC 2024: Keanu Reeves Receives Surprise Comic-Con Award

Keanu Reeves received an Inkpot Award for his contributions to comics and movies during Saturday’s BRZRKR panel in Hall H at Comic-Con 2024.

Inkpot Awards are to individuals for their contributions to the worlds of comics, science fiction/fantasy, film, television, animation, and fandom services, according to Comic-Con International.

“Honestly, if it were just my choice, I would have given it to you just for The Matrix,” said Eddie Ibrahim, Director of Programming at Comic-Con International, while presenting the award amid a standing ovation.

The actor and musician, who had his breakthrough role in the sci-fi comedy Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure in 1989, has starred in numerous iconic films and blockbuster hits, including Point Break (1991) and Speed (1994), as well as the highly influential sci-fi Matrix film series.

“The Matrix changed my life. Over these years, it’s changed so many other people’s lives in really positive ways,” Reeves said about the iconic sci-fi film.

Reeves joined the panel at Hall H to promote his original comic book series BRZRKR, which he co-wrote with New York Times bestselling author Matt Kindt. It is set to receive a movie adaptation, in which Keanu will star, as well as a subsequent Netflix animated series. Comic book artist Ron Garney who had drawn BRZRKR was also in attendance.

The screenwriter of the eight-episode show “Terminator Zero” Mattson Tomlin, also made an appearance to talk about the live-action film adaptation of BRZRKR, which Tomlin is writing.

Pluto TV To Launch An Exclusive “WOW – Women Of Wrestling” Channel

Alien: Romulus: Terrifying Extended Footage Revealed At Comic-Con 2024

Director and co-writer Fede Álvarez and the cast of “Alien: Romulus” showcased never-before-seen footage at Hall H during San Diego Comic-Con, featuring terrifying Facehuggers and a Chestburster.

The franchise’s original director, Ridley Scott, served as producer for this installment. Actors Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, and Spike Fearn joined the panel to discuss their experiences working on the upcoming 20th Century Studios film.

“While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe,” reads the synopsis.

“Alien: Romulus” is set between the events of “Alien” and its sequel “Aliens,” though Álvarez noted, “You really don’t need to have seen the other ones to understand or enjoy this film. If you have, it’s a treat. If you haven’t, then I’m jealous.”

Álvarez also answered video questions from surprise guests Ridley Scott and Guillermo Del Toro.

“Alien: Romulus” is set to open in theaters on August 16.

SDCC 2024: “In a Violent Nature” Sequel in Development

The sequel to the horror moovie ‘In a Violent Nature 2’ has been announced at SDCC, during the The Bold Voice of Contemporary Horror panel. The original’s producer Peter Kuplowsky were in attendance for the announcement.

Written and directed by Chris Nash, the 2024 Canadian slasher film was a surprise hit in 2024, after it premiered on January 22, 2024, at the Sundance Film Festival’s Midnight program.

“In a Violent Nature” is set to be released on the Shudder streaming service later in the year.

“The Bold Voice of Contemporary Horror” panel also had a lively discussion with David Dastmalchian (actor, Late Night with the Devil), Akela Cooper (writer, M3GAN franchise), and Angel Melanson (journalist, Fangoria) in attendance. The panel was moderated by Overlook Film Festival co-founder and director of film programming, Michael Lerman.

Appearing in Hall H for the first time, iconic voices Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton), along with executive producers Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller, kicked off the four-day Comic-Con weekend with the Best. Panel. Ever. — “Celebrating 25 Years of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants.”

Moderated by Good Burger’s Ed (Kel Mitchell), the panel highlights include a surprise live appearance by legendary actor Mark Hamill (Star Wars) to announce his role as “The Flying Dutchman” in Paramount Pictures’ upcoming fourth theatrical film, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, an exclusive clip reveal of the upcoming movie, Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, available August 2 on Netflix, and a first look at the one-hour special SpongeBob SquarePants, “Kreepaway Kamp.”

Veteran voice cast Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs) also conducted a live table read of the beloved 1999 pilot episode SpongeBob SquarePants, “Help Wanted,” and Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks) and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) performed a live table read from SpongeBob SquarePants, “Single-Celled Defense.”

The Art Directors Guild at 2024 San Diego Comic-Con

ADG-2024The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) returns to the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con to highlight the contributions of ADG artisans to the genre works celebrated at this annual fan conference.

The ADG’s programming includes a panel discussion with an audience Q&A titled “Video Games Go Hollywood: The Art Department,” a booth on the exhibit floor, three portfolio review sessions and two award presentations at the Masquerade Costume Competition.

Highlighting the growing impact of video game IP on the entertainment industry, the ADG is curating a panel called “Video Games Go Hollywood: The Art Department,” featuring panelists: Production Designer Howard Cummings (“Fallout”); Concept Illustrator Thang Le (“Fallout”); Production Designer Marc Fisichella (“Five Nights at Freddy’s”); Art Director Mark Terry (“Five Nights at Freddy’s”); and Production Designer Victoria Paul (“Twisted Metal”). The panel will be moderated by Set Designer Tim Croshaw (“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Loki”) and offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into the art departments responsible for the dreaming, drawing and designing that translates these iconic video game environments into the world of film and television. The panel will take place on Saturday, July 27, at 4:30 p.m., in Room 29CD.

AMC Networks Heads To San Diego With A Star-Studded Panel Lineup For Five Series At This Year’s Comic-Con Int’l

amc-networksAMC Networks announced today its lineup of five star-studded series panels at this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego, CA, including the Walking Dead Universe series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol and The Walking Dead: Dead City; the Anne Rice Immortal Universe series Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire and Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches; and the final season of Snowpiercer.

Fans will get an exclusive first-look at trailers and teases from the highly anticipated second seasons of Dead City and Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol, which premieres on Sunday, September 29 on AMC and AMC+. Attendees will be treated to an advance screening of the second episode of Snowpiercer’s final season, followed by a panel with cast and executive producers.

Additionally, the casts and creative teams from Interview with the Vampire, which was recently renewed for a third season, and Mayfair Witches, returning early next year, will discuss their respective series and debut new teases. AMC Networks will also present a special advanced screening of Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol on Friday, July 26 at the Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero.
