Today the legendary rock & roll band with horns Chicago announced a North American summer amphitheater tour with music icon Rick Springfield. Revered for their dynamic vocals and rich instrumentals, Chicago and Springfield will bring their hits to fans in venues across the U.S. and Canada.

Chicago has been honored at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame, and GRAMMY Hall of Fame over the course of their illustrious career. The 17 year old singer and songwriter is set to be awarded at Billboard’s Women in Music event on Dec. 12, making her the youngest recipient of the title.

“Billie has disrupted the entertainment industry through her music and social media platforms, leaving an indelible impact on the global cultural zeitgeist,” says Hannah Karp, Billboard’s Editorial Director. “Her ability to speak to the Gen-Z population, making teens and young adults feel accepted in today’s society has quickly allowed Eilish to grow to the top of the charts, breaking the mold for this generation with her electric hair-color and sharp attitude.”

Last night was the annual American Music Awards, live from Los Angeles, and it was Taylor Swift who dominated the event, taking home five trophies including Artist of the Year.

Taylor entered the evening already guaranteed to win one award for Artist of the Decade. She’s also previously won Artist of the Year four times previously (2009, 2011, 2013, 2018). And with that, Taylor broke the record for the most award artist at the AMAs of all time with 29 awards, beating the previous record held by Michael Jackson. Swift also took the stage to perform a medley of some of her biggest hits.

Among the night’s other big winners included Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, BTS, and Carrie Underwood.

Hosted by Ciara, the night featured performances from Swift, Eilish, Lizzo, Selena Gomez, Christina Aguilera & A Great Big World, Post Malone & Ozzy Osbourne, Kesha & Big Freedia, Halsey, Camila Cabello, Toni Braxton, Shawn Mendes and Shania Twain.

Green Day performed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their legendary 1994 Grammy winning album, Dookie.

After some of the nominees were leaked this week, the official nominations for 62nd annual Grammy Awards is finally revealed, with Lizzo, Billie Eilish, and Lil Nas X leading the list.

It was a big day for Lizzo, who received eight noms, the most nominations than any other artists this year, including Album of the Year (“Cuz I Love You”), Best New Artist, Song, and Record of the Year for her chart-topping hit “Truth Hurts.”

Though 2019 is a breakout year for Lizzo, “Truth Hurts” is in fact not a 2019 song. It came out in September 19, 2017 but only recently became popular via the TikTok video sharing app.

Also having a great day is 16 year old Billie Eilish, who received six nominations including the top four categories: Record, Album, Song and New Artist.

The record-breaking song “Old Town Road” helped Lil Nas X in receiving six nominations, including Album and Record of the Year. The song, assisted by a remix version featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, stayed at number one for nineteen consecutive weeks, surpassing “One Sweet Day” (Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men) and Despacito (Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee ft Justin Bieber).

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards is set to Jan. 26, 2020. Alicia Keys will be hosting the show.

Today, multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning, Zac Brown Band announced they are extending their highly successful summer 2019 “The Owl Tour” to include spring 2020 dates.

“The Owl Tour” celebrates and features music from the band’s newest album, The Owl, as well as hits from the band’s entire discography and a diverse range of cover songs that have become a signature part of any Zac Brown Band show. The Black Crowes’ Chris and Rich Robinson will herald the thirty-year anniversary of their landmark quintuple platinum debut album Shake Your Money Maker with a world tour beginning June 17 in Austin, Texas. Tickets and VIP packages are on sale now. To celebrate the announce, the band will play two intimate shows, first at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City this evening, followed by the Troubadour in Los Angeles on November 14. The Black Crowes, which Melody Maker proclaimed as “the most Rock n’ Roll Rock n’ Roll band in the world” will be playing their debut, described by Rolling Stone as, “a guitar-party cracker that marries Southern R&B crunch and Anglo cock-strutting attitude” in its entirety plus all the hits from the band’s illustrious catalogue. The ever-volatile Robinson brothers have not played a show since 2013 when they vowed never to play or speak together again. Thankfully for fans, times seems to have healed these wounds.

Chris Robinson says of reuniting, “I’m thrilled & blessed to be playing with my brother celebrating the music we’ve made & bringing our lives together full circle. Long live Rock n’ Roll & The Black Crowes!”

In 1990, when journalists were lamenting the death of rock, as cheesy pop and hair metal dominated the charts, Atlanta’s Black Crowes gave the genre a swift and much needed kick in the ass with Shake Your Money Maker. Fueled by singles “Jealous Again”, “Twice As Hard”, “She Talks To Angels”, and the rollicking cover of Otis Redding’s “Hard To Handle” the band immediately took the rock world by storm, topping Rolling Stone‘s “Best New American Band Readers Poll” in late 1990.

The Black Crowes went on to release eight studio and four live albums, selling in the tens of millions along the way; they sold out shows around the world; had legendary guitarist Jimmy Page join as a member; got kicked off a tour with ZZ Top for insulting the sponsor; got screwed by bad record deals; got married and divorced, fought amongst themselves and the rest of the world; in other words they’ve done everything a legendary rock group should do. 2020’s reunion and tour produced by Live Nation is sure to further cement the band’s legacy as one of the best and most loved rock bands of all time.
