“To Kill A Tiger” To Release Globally On Netflix On Oscar Sunday

Academy Award Nominated Documentary Feature ‘To Kill A Tiger’ will release globally on Netflix on Sunday, March 10th, Oscar Sunday, director Nisha Pahuja and Notice Pictures Inc. has announced.

To Kill A Tiger follows the story of Ranjit, a farmer in Jharkhand, India, who takes on the fight of his life when he demands justice for his 13-year-old daughter, the victim of sexual assault. The documentary highlights Ranjit’s unwavering support for his daughter and the bravery of a family willing to risk everything for justice.

“It’s been a long, fascinating 9 year journey with To Kill a Tiger and to be here at this juncture–to announce we’re releasing globally on Netflix on March 10th, Oscar Sunday, we simply couldn’t have asked for anything better,” said Director Nisha Pahuja. “I’m filled with gratitude for all the partners along the way–our co-Producer the National Film Board of Canada, our Canadian Broadcasters TVO and the Knowledge Network, and our supporters Telefilm Canada and the Rogers Group of Funds. ‘To Kill A Tiger’ is produced by Notice Pictures Inc. & the National Film Board of Canada with Dev Patel, Mindy Kaling, Rupi Kaur, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas on board as Executive Producers.

Rosario Dawson To Narrate Extended Reality Experience Soul Paint

soul-paintHatsumi and Monobanda and announced today that Award-winning actress, activist, designer, and producer, Rosario Dawson, will narrate the SXSW festival-bound extended reality reality project, Soul Paint. Debuting on Quest 2, the experience merges art and science to illustrate the infinite and complex networks of emotion and experience that live within all of us. 

Participants will embark on a journey of personal exploration, voiced by Dawson, as they identify and convey the sensations and emotions of their bodies through body mapping, 3D drawing and movement. The result is a visual representation of those sensations, providing a transformative new way to communicate human experiences that are often indescribable. 

“Soul Paint was inspired by my own experience of grief. Whilst seeking support for my own challenges with mental health, I lacked the words to describe my feelings and wanted to find new ways to be understood and understand others around me. Body mapping as a therapeutic process is a fascinating way to explore emotional and sensory experiences within the body. Being able to translate it into an immersive environment has enabled us to expand its potential as a creative experience that can empower people to tell stories in powerful new ways. We are so excited to see how people experience Soul Paint and what stories will emerge,” said director Sarah Ticho.

Jed MacKay Reveals Grisly New Details About “Blood Hunt”

Marvel-Blood-HuntEarlier today, retailers were invited to a virtual Blood Hunt Retailer Conference to learn more about the upcoming crossover event straight from the source. “Blood Hunt” writer and event architect Jed MacKay and Marvel Comics VP Executive Editor Tom Brevoort laid out the full scope of the saga, teased its biggest mysteries, hyped up the lasting impact it will have on the Marvel Universe, and answered retailer questions.

Hosted by Ryan Penagos (VP & Creative Executive at Marvel), attendees also got an exclusive look at the blood and gore that awaits readers in Blood Hunt’s special parental advisory Red Band editions along with cover debuts of upcoming “Blood Hunt” tie-in issues. Right now, fans are welcome to check out some of what was unveiled in anticipation of “Blood Hunt” #1 hitting stands on May 1.

The event kicks off when various vampire factions, united for the first time in millennia, engineer a global attack using Darkforce energy to block out the sun. Trailer For Kit Harriton, Scoot McNairy, Starrer “Blood For Lust” Debut

Blood-For-LustDirector Rod Blackhurst’s new thriller “Blood For Lust” has a new trailer. The film stars Scoot McNairy, Nora Zehetne, Ethan Suplee, Amber Rose Mason, Stephen Dorff, Josh Lucas, and Kit Harington.

The film follows Cliff (Scoot McNairy), a former salesman with a checkered past, is pulled back into a life of crime after losing his job. Desperate to keep his family afloat, lured by his old colleague, Ricky (Kit Harington), into trafficking drugs and guns for a cartel.

As Cliff delves deeper, his once straight-laced life turns into a high-stakes game of survival in this gripping thriller hailed as “Breaking Bad meets Fargo” (Variety). Also starring Josh Lucas and Stephen Dorff.

“Blood For Lust”, premiered last year at the Tribeca Film Festival and is set for release on April 19, 2024.

Lupita Nyong’o plays a lost android in stunning trailer for ‘The Wild Robot’

The-Wild-RobotThe first trailer for Dreamworks Animation’s The Wild Robot has been released, featuring the epic journey of a robot—ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short. Roz is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.

The Wild Robot is written and directed by Chris Sanders, who previously directed How to Train Your Dragon, The Croods and Lilo & Stitch.

It features the voice cast that includes Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek), Bill Nighy (Love Actually), Kit Connor (Heartstopper), Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows), and Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible).

Based on the book by Peter Brown, The Wild Robot will premiere in theaters Sept. 20, 2024.

Gillen And Wijngaard Announce The Power Fantasy For August

Gillen-And-WijngaardThe bestselling, award winning writer Kieron Gillen (The Wicked + The Divine, Die) and creative powerhouse artist Caspar Wijngaard (Home Sick Pilots, All Against All) took Emerald City Comic Con by storm on Friday when Gillen shared news of their upcoming The Power Fantasy series at his Spotlight panel to a standing room only audience. Gillen and Wijngaard were guests of the show and further entertained a queue of enthusiastic fans eager for for more details on this forthcoming series with Image Comics slated for August.

The Power Fantasy concept is laid out in a two-page comic advert released at the book’s announcement. It’s a world where “Superpowered” has a specific meaning. It’s reserved solely for those with the destructive potential of the nuclear arsenal of the most powerful nations on Earth. There are presently six superpowered beings, and the future of the planet is reliant on them never, ever coming into conflict.

“The Power Fantasy emerged in a similar way to The Wicked + The Divine,” said Gillen in an exclusive scoop with The Hollywood Reporter. “I was doing a book at Marvel, and became aware of exactly the sort of things I could do with the reins taken off. As The Wicked + the Divine was to Young Avengers, this is to Immortal X-men. It’s a comic informed by superheroes, but one where a fight is the absolute lose state, for everyone. It’s set from 1945-1999, and so is a chance to really have fun with an alternate cultural history too. I think you can see it as an extension of my best work: WicDivian alternate-pop culture, a cold-war take on Uber’s realpolitik, Die’s social group drama hyper-charged by genre…”

Trailer For “The Watchers” Released, Dakota Fanning Stars In The Film

The supernatural horror film is based on the novel of the same name by A. M. Shine. It is written and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan and produced by her dad M. Night Shyamalan

The film follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.

The film stars Dakota Fanning, Georgina Campbell, Oliver Finnegan and Olwen Fouere. The Watchers is set for release in theaters June 7.

“The Strangers: Chapter 1” Horror Franchise Reboot Trailer Released

the-strangers-chapter-1“The Strangers: Chapter 1” is the first film in a new “The Strangers” trilogy directed by Renny Harlin.

It is the third film in The Strangers film series, following the 2008 original and a 2018 sequel The Strangers: Prey at Night.

The upcoming slasher film follows a young couple’s cross-country drive toward a new beginning; unfortunately they have no choice but to stop in a secluded Airbnb in Oregon–and endure a night of terror against three masked strangers.

Madelaine Petsch, Gabriel Basso, Rachel Shenton, Richard Brake, Froy Gutierrez star. It is directed by Renny Harlin, who also helmed “Die Hard 2,” “Cliffhanger” and “The Long Kiss Goodnight”.

The Strangers: Chapter 1 is set to arrive in cinemas on May 17, and to be followed by two additional movies.
