Series adaptation of Jenny Han’s best-selling novel to debut on Prime Video June 17, and is to have a New York City premiere on June 14, 2022.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is a multigenerational drama that hinges on a love triangle between one girl and two brothers, the ever-evolving relationship between mothers and their children, and the enduring power of strong female friendship. It is a coming-of-age story about first love, first heartbreak, and the magic of that one perfect summer.

The Prime Video series is led by showrunners Jenny Han, who also wrote the pilot, and Gabrielle Stanton. Han, Stanton, and Karen Rosenfelt serve as executive producers, along with Hope Hartman, Mads Hansen, and Nne Ebong for wiip. The series is a co-production of Amazon Studios and wiip.

Today, New Orleans duo $uicideboy$ have announced the upcoming release of their new album Sing Me A Lullaby My Sweet Temptation releasing via G*59 RECORD$ on July 29.

To celebrate the album release, the rap cousins (Ruby da Cherry and $crim) will embark on a 40-city nationwide Grey Day Tour that kicks off in Chicago, IL at Huntington Bank Pavilion on August 2 with stops in Los Angeles at The Kia Forum, Seattle at The Climate Pledge Arena and wrapping in Denver at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Matt Murdock and Elektra Natchios headline Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto’s new run of DAREDEVIL beginning next month.

Writer Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto Eisner-nominated work on DAREDEVIL is reborn in a brand-new run kicking off on July 13. Taking place in the aftermath of DEVIL’S REIGN, DAREDEVIL #1 will spotlight both Matt Murdock and Elektra Natchios and their vastly different journeys as Daredevil.

Their ambitions and bold choices as heroes will transform Hell’s Kitchen and have a major impact on the Marvel Universe at large. Right now, fans can get a peek at some of what they’ll be up against in new promotional artwork by Paulo Siqueria.

Pantaya’s El Refugio Trailer And Key Art Released

The U.S. Spanish-language premium streaming service Pantaya, revealed today the official trailer and key art of its first Sci-Fi Spanish language original series “El Refugio” starring Alberto Guerra (“Narcos: Mexico”) and Ana Claudia Talancón (Como Caído del Cielo), executive produced by Juan de Dios Larraín, Pablo Larraín, Ángela Poblete (“Señorita 89”) and Mariane Hartard from Fabula, and Christian Vesper from Fremantle.

Pablo Fendrik serves as the showrunner and director of these six episodes, which are based on the original idea by Julio Rojas (“Caso 63”). The series will premiere on Thursday, June 23rd exclusively on Pantaya in the United States and Puerto Rico.

In “El Refugio” a family experiences the strangest hours of their lives when unusual phenomena begin to take place, apparently caused by a completely unidentified force of nature. But all of it happens through their screens. When they go outside, nothing seems to be happening, aside from what springtime in the Mexican countryside holds in store for a group of humans.

The parents must protect their children from an invisible enemy whom not even they know exists for real. What is real? What happened to the world they knew? Is this ranch a refuge? Is it the final stronghold of humanity?

First Look At The Spider-Man Zero Suit

Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War, the highly anticipated comic mini-series that will see the Marvel Universe collide with the world of Fortnite, makes its long-awaited debut tomorrow.

Written by veteran Marvel writer Christos Gage and Epic Games’ Chief Creative Officer Donald Mustard and drawn by artist Sergio Davíla, Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War is a five-issue saga that will leave a tremendous impact on both universes, and Spider-Man will mark the occasion with a brand-new suit. Check out the unveiling of the Spider-Man Zero Suit right now and see it in action in both the comic series and in Fortnite.

Fans will be able to unlock the suit in-game ahead of its Fortnite Item Shop debut with a redeemable code in each first-print edition comic issue of Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War #1.

“There’ll be a few things you see in both the game and the comic—mostly in our final issue,” Gage explained to IGN in a recent interview. “But for the most part, what happens in the game and what happens in the comic are different fronts in the same war. Some questions that players might have about the game are answered in the comic, and vice versa, though neither are required to follow the story in the other.”

Top Gun: Maverick Snatches Second Weekend B.O. Record

After scoring a boxoffice record on Memorial Day Weekend, Top Gun: Maverick seems designed to take another one. If estimates hold, the sequel to the Tom Cruise 80s classic is set to gross over $86 million. That would be enough for the record “smallest second-weekend decline for a movie that opened to $100 million or more,” according to Comscore.

Top Gun: Maverick has now grossed $291 million in North America, and thereby officially becoming the highest-grossing film ever at the domestic box office for Cruise.

This is especially impressive given that typical big-budget blockbusters tend to decline by at least 50%, even films are backed by positive reviews.

For comparison, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and Marvel’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” each declined 67% in their second weekend, while another well-reviewed blockbuster, Robert Pattinson’s “The Batman” fell 50% in its second weekend.

“It has never been more appropriate to say ‘the sky’s the limit’ for ‘Top Gun: Maverick,'” Paramount’s president of domestic distribution Chris Aronson wrote in a note to press.

Not a lot of films opened against “Maverick” second weekend. Cronenberg’s “Crimes of the Future” which opened in limited release, made $1.1 million from 773 theaters.

Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill” Returns To The Charts

Thanks to the fourth season of “Stranger Things,” Kate Bush’s 1985 classic “Running Up That Hill” is finding new life and fresh new listeners.

With the return of the Netflix’s hit show’s new season on Friday, and the song being a pivotal part of the plot, the song has surged in Spotify by 9,900% in U.S. plays from Thursday to Monday, per Billboard.

Bush has always been more popular particularly in her native UK than in thee US, so it is understandable that the song is experiencing a similar bump in popularity in the UK as well.

The English singer-songwriter originally released Running Up That Hill in 1985. It was the first single from her fifth studio Hounds of Love, which reached the top of the UK charts and the top 40 in Billboard 200. “Hill” itself originally peaked at No. 3 in the UK charts, and 30 in the Billboard Hot 100 in the US.

In the Netflix series’ first episode, the song is frequently played throughout the entire season, at some point accompanying the journey of one of the characters Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) in the series.
