A visual, artistic interpretation of the story of the album, The White Buffalo: Year Of The Dark Horse the film was created by Jake Smith (THE WHITE BUFFALO) and features four different directors tackling each of the 12 songs on TWB’s forthcoming album YEAR OF THE DARK HORSE, in an epic and cinematic way. The unique, high-concept, art film was produced by award-winning director Lee Diskin, and also features directors Gene Sung, Pete Macomber and C.W. Mihlberger. Similar to the new album which is based around the shifting of the four seasons, each director took three songs to symbolize Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. As a result, The White Buffalo: Year Of The Dark Horse delivers the ultimate artist statement realized through captivating performance art.

“My forthcoming album is a sonic and lyrical journey of one lunar year in one man’s life” says Jake Smith, THE WHITE BUFFALO. “Four seasons in 12 songs… Loosely based on my twisted truths and adventures. I wanted to show the seasonal effect on the heart and the mind. I also wanted to abandon, sonically, everything. Escape the acoustic clutches and genres I’ve been associated with and shackled to. I wanted to make my headphones album. Every song bleeds into the next. I took it further and created a visual companion as an art film comprised of vignettes for each of the 12 songs. Part performance art, part cinema, The White Buffalo: Year Of The Dark Horse will take you, the listener and viewer, on the emotional roller coaster that is this album with a feast for the senses. Four directors take three song sections of the album and each taking a season into another. Winter to spring, spring into summer, and so on. This piece of art is made to be consumed in one sitting. Hopefully mildly sedated or elevated. Enjoy!! This is… Year of the Dark Horse.”

HBO’s “House of the Dragon” premiered with massive numbers on Sunday night, with 9.99 million viewers tuning in across HBO and HBO Max. This makes the “Game of Thrones” spinoff HBO’s most-watched series premiere in the network’s history.

This success didn’t come without a slight glitch: more than 3,700 were reported across HBO Max on Sunday night, taking place just before the show started airing at 9 pm.ET. “‘House of the Dragon’ is being successfully viewed by millions of HBO Max subscribers this evening. We’re aware of a small portion of users attempting to connect via Fire TV devices that are having issues and are in the process of resolving for those impacted users,” the HBO statement said.

That said, the premiere numbers are massive. The company said that the Sunday night numbers typically represents around 20% to 40% of the show’s total audience. “It was wonderful to see millions of ‘Game of Thrones’ fans return with us to Westeros last night,” said Casey Bloys, chief content officer for HBO and HBO Max.

“House of the Dragon” tells the story of the Targaryen civil war, which took place around 200 years before the events in “Game of Thrones.” It is based on Fire & Blood novel by George R.R. Martin which tells the story of the House of Targaryen. The 10-episode series will be released weekly.

Netflix’s “The Sandman” Season 1 Soundtrack Featuring Music By David Buckley Released

Soundtrack From Netflix Original Series The Sandman Season 1 ReleasedWaterTower Music has announced the release of The Sandman: Season 1 (Soundtrack From the Original Netflix Series) which features music by composer David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Gifted). This 27-track score is available now on all major digital platforms for digital purchase and streaming.

“The Sandman is an incredibly eclectic story spanning everything from other-worldly magic to deep trauma and horror, but is always told with real human feelings,” says Buckley.

The Sandman’s range of genres gave Buckley the opportunity to embrace a large palette for the score including full orchestra, choir, early music instruments, such as viola da gamba and baroque flutes, and some esoteric sounds. He combined historic classical music and instruments with modern electronic textures to bridge time within the music.

One of the most notable experimentations is that of Dream’s theme, using bells to portray his character’s ruling of the sleeping world, reminding the viewer of a midnight chime. The bells are sometimes warped or dissonant, mimicking the inconsistency and eclecticism of dreams. As an Endless, Dream’s theme is ubiquitous, being used throughout episodes regardless of his on-screen presence.

The emotional score switches from dark to dainty themes episode to episode while still remaining cohesive and homogenous. Buckley created sounds unique to every moment of the series, making the music feel alive and distinctive.

By Armando

Yesterday at a special “Mythic Quest” panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Apple TV+ and the cast and creators of hit workplace comedy series confirmed that the series will return this fall, and unveiled a first-look teaser at the highly anticipated third season.

“Mythic Quest” co-creator, executive producer and star Rob McElhenney, co-creator and executive producer Megan Ganz, executive producer and star David Hornsby and stars Charlotte Nicdao, Danny Pudi, Ashly Burch, Imani Hakim, and Jessie Ennis came together for the conversation, moderated by Craig Mazin, and shared a glimpse into what fans can expect this upcoming season.

“Mythic Quest” follows a group of video game developers tasked with building worlds, molding heroes and creating legends, but the most hard-fought battles don’t occur in the game — they happen in the office. In season three, as Ian and Poppy navigate the gaming world and their partnership at the newly formed GrimPop Studios, Dana is forced to play mediator to her bosses’ incessant bickering.

Back at Mythic Quest, David settles into his new role as the boss where he truly finds himself in charge for the first time with Jo returning as his assistant — more loyal and militant than ever; and Carol attempts to figure out where she fits in after a new promotion. Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power At SDCC

By Armando

rings-of-power-at-SDCC-12Hosting the show’s panel on Friday was Stephen Colbert, which many may know is a J.R.R. Tolkien superfan, even making a brief appearance in one of The Hobbit installments.

Series creators JD Payne and Patrick McKay and cast members on hand to give Hall H’s 6,500-strong fans the latest look at the series and discuss the Lord of the Rings prequel.

“If we are going to tell 50 hours of story, we want to make it worth it. We wanted to find a huge, Tolkien-ian mega-epic. Amazon were wonderfully crazy enough to say, ‘Yes, let’s do that.’” said Payne.

Cast members that took the stage first were Robert Aramayo (Endor), Benjamin Walker (Gil-galad), Charles Edwards (Celebrimbor), Owain Arthur (Prince Durin IV), and Sophie Nomvete (Princess Disa), who talked about their experiences in being part of the show.

Shortly after, the second group of actors arrived, including smael Cruz Córdova (Arondir), Nazanin Boniadi (Bronwyn), Tyrone Muhafidin (Theo), Markella Kavenagh (Nori), Megan Richard (Poppy), Dylan Smith (Largo), Sara Zwangobani (Marigold), and Daniel Weyman (The Stranger).

Among the stunning clips shown were that of The Stranger (Daniel Weyman), who were found near the Harfoots’ home after a comet crashes and creates a crater.

Among the stunning clips shown were that of The Stranger (Daniel Weyman), who were found near the Harfoots’ home after a comet crashes and creates a crater.

Also presented before the panel was something many didn’t expect, which I have to say, was one of the most exciting moments at SDCC this year. Bear McCeary, who composed the score for the series, as well as an orchestra which performed some of the music from the show. The composer opened the panel with a live performance.

The LOTR prequel is set to debut Sept. 2 on Amazon Prime.
