Jeremy Allen White Stars as Bruce Springsteen in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere

springsteen-deliver-me-from-nowhere20th Century Studios has released the first trailer for Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, the upcoming biopic exploring the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 acoustic masterpiece Nebraska. The film opens in theaters October 24, 2025.

Directed by Scott Cooper and based on Warren Zanes’ book, the film stars Jeremy Allen White as Springsteen during a pivotal period in his life grappling with rising fame and personal demons while crafting one of his most haunting and enduring albums.

The cast also includes Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Stephen Graham, Odessa Young, Gaby Hoffmann, Marc Maron, and David Krumholtz.

Springsteen, who visited the set during production, praised White’s performance and called the experience “fun” but emotionally intense, noting some scenes depicted “the most painful days” of his life.

Mel Brooks’ Spaceballs 2 Set for 2027 Release with Original Cast Returning

spaceballs-2Spaceballs 2 is officially in the works, with Mel Brooks, Bill Pullman, Rick Moranis, and Daphne Zuniga reprising their iconic roles in the long-awaited sequel to the 1987 sci-fi parody classic. The film is slated for theatrical release in 2027 via Amazon MGM Studios.

Brooks, who turns 99 this month, returns as Yogurt and also serves as producer. The new film is described, in true Spaceballs fashion, as a “Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film.”

Josh Gad co-wrote the script with Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez, and is expected to star. Josh Greenbaum directs. Keke Palmer and Lewis Pullman also join the cast in undisclosed roles.

Plot details remain under wraps, but the first teaser has been released, featuring Brooks joking: “After 40 years, we asked, ‘What do the fans want?’ But instead, we’re making this movie.”

Francis Ford Coppola to Host Live Megalopolis Screenings and Discussions This Summer

Francis-Ford-Coppola---MegalopolisLegendary director Francis Ford Coppola will appear live in select U.S. theaters this summer for a special event series, An Evening With Francis Ford Coppola and Megalopolis Screening.

Each event includes a screening of his 2024 epic Megalopolis, followed by an interactive Q&A and discussion titled “How To Change Our Future.” The tour begins July 20 in Red Bank, NJ, with additional stops in New York, Chicago, Denver, and San Francisco.

Megalopolis, set in a futuristic New Rome, stars Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, and more. The film premiered at Cannes in 2024 to a 10-minute standing ovation and is not currently available on streaming platforms.

Disability Rights Doc “Life After” Opens July 18 at Film Forum

life-after-docLife After, the Sundance-winning documentary by disabled filmmaker Reid Davenport, will open theatrically in the U.S. on July 18 at Film Forum.

The film investigates the case of Elizabeth Bouvia, a disabled woman whose 1983 legal battle to die sparked national debate. Through archival footage and contemporary stories, Life After challenges prevailing narratives around assisted dying, reframing the issue through a disability rights lens.

Winner of the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, Life After is produced by Multitude Films and will feature post-screening Q&As with Davenport and producer Colleen Cassingham on opening weekend.

ASL interpretation will be provided.

Liam Neeson Leads Police Squad in New ‘The Naked Gun’ Reboot, Trailer Drops

Directed by Akiva Schaffer (Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers), the film stars Liam Neeson as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., taking over from his father, the iconic Frank Drebin (originally played by Leslie Nielsen).

Set for release on August 1, 2025, the film follows Drebin Jr. as he fumbles through a major case that could decide the fate of Police Squad. Joining Neeson are Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, Danny Huston, Liza Koshy, Cody Rhodes, Busta Rhymes, and CCH Pounder.

Written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, the reboot blends over-the-top gags and wordplay in the style of the original films and Police Squad! series. The trailer teases the same absurd humor fans of the franchise love, updated with a new cast and bigger stakes. Producers Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins are backing the project.

LAIKA’s ParaNorman Returns to Theaters in Remastered 3D with New Short Film

paranormanLAIKA’s stop-motion feature ParaNorman is returning to theaters this Halloween for a one-week limited engagement, presented in newly remastered RealD 3D and 2D formats. Originally released in 2012, the film will be accompanied by a brand-new CG short titled ParaNorman: The Thrifting, featuring voice work by Anna Kendrick and Finn Wolfhard.

International screenings begin October 23 via Trafalgar Releasing, with U.S. showings starting October 25 through Fathom Entertainment. The release follows the strong box office performance of Coraline’s 2024 reissue and kicks off a year-long celebration of LAIKA’s 20th anniversary.

Directed by Chris Butler and Sam Fell, ParaNorman received multiple award nominations and remains a notable entry in LAIKA’s catalog. The new short is directed by Thibault LeClercq and produced with Passion Pictures.

The announcement was made at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Luis Ortega’s “Kill The Jockey”, Wild, Surreal Tragicomedy at Film Forum

kill-the-jockeyKill the Jockey, the latest film from Argentine director Luis Ortega, will make its U.S. theatrical premiere at Film Forum on Wednesday, July 2. The 2024 tragicomedy blends pathos, surrealism, and retro flair in a story of identity, reinvention, and personal collapse.

Set in the world of horse racing and underworld crime, the film follows Remo, a troubled jockey played by Nahuel Pérez Biscayart (BPM), who transforms, mysteriously and strikingly, into Dolores, a mink-draped woman with a new lease on life.

With a vibrant Latin pop and disco soundtrack and stylized visuals by cinematographer Timo Salminen, Kill the Jockey received critical acclaim at the Venice, Toronto, and San Sebastián film festivals. It was also Argentina’s submission for Best International Feature at the 97th Academy Awards.

A Music Box Films release, the film runs 96 minutes and will screen in Spanish with English subtitles.

‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ Trailer Debuts: Diego Luna and Jennifer Lopez Star in Bill Condon’s Dazzling Musical Drama

Set in 1983 Argentina, the film follows two prisoners, a political detainee (Diego Luna) and a gay window dresser (Tonatiuh), who bond through retellings of a glamorous movie starring a fictional Old Hollywood star, played by Jennifer Lopez.

The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was acquired by Roadside Attractions, Lionsgate, and LD Entertainment. Written and directed by Condon (Dreamgirls), the adaptation features original music by John Kander and Fred Ebb, with Lopez’s performance drawing early attention for its classic musical style and visual flair.

Kiss of the Spider Woman opens in theaters October 10, 2025.

Sci-Fi Thriller “Star People” to Premiere at Dances With Films: LA 2025

star-peopleStar People, a new science fiction thriller inspired by the 1997 Phoenix Lights UFO incident, will hold its world premiere at the Dances With Films: LA 2025 festival.

The film marks the narrative feature debut of director Adam Finberg and stars Kat Cunning, McCabe Slye, Connor Paolo, Eddie Martinez, Bradley Fisher, and Adriana Aluna Martinez. The story follows a photographer who receives a tip about a possible explanation for a childhood UFO sighting, set against the backdrop of a deadly heatwave and a series of unexpected events.

Finberg, who has previously directed music videos and documentaries, co-produced the film with Josh Shader. Star People is his first narrative feature.

The film draws from the 1997 Phoenix Lights incident, considered one of the most widely reported UFO sightings in U.S. history.
