“Look Track” Trailer Premiere, Sets Release Date

On the verge of a breakdown, a highly anxious man, sets off on a multi-day hike through the New Zealand wilderness to clear his head, per the films logline released by Dark Sky Films.

Written and directed by Thomas Sainsbury, the psychological thriller has set its release on digital platforms and VOD on December 1st, 2023.

The film follows Ian, a man on the verge of a nervous breakdown, disappears from the world and takes a hike in the New Zealand wilderness. His efforts to avoid other hikers are futile and he is drawn into their worlds, but he can never shake the feeling that they are being stalked by someone, or something, sinister.

As Ian’s paranoia grows, the other hikers become wary of him. He’s cagey about his past, he never sleeps, and his anxiety leads him to make concerning claims. Far from society, Ian starts to question his own sanity before plunging into a bloody battle for survival.

The film stars Thomas Sainsbury, Hayden J. Weal, Tawanda Manyimo.

Sundance Institute and The Walt Disney Studios Launch Fund to Support Underrepresented Directors

Today, the nonprofit Sundance Institute and The Walt Disney Studios are proud to announce the establishment of the Project Advancement and Completion Fund, an initiative designed to provide grants to fiction directors from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds. This fund aims to empower and uplift filmmakers from diverse backgrounds and genres, fostering a more inclusive cinema landscape.

The Project Advancement and Completion Fund will support nine directors currently engaged in fiction features through Sundance Institute’s esteemed artist programs. These talented filmmakers, hailing from a range of traditionally underrepresented communities, including women, AAPI, Black, Indigenous/Native, Latinx, LGBTQIA+, disability-identifying, and religiously marginalized individuals, will be granted the resources needed to bring their unique visions to life.

“After working with several Sundance filmmakers, we know how important it is for directors to develop their first independent feature films in order to take on larger projects at the studio level and we couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with Sundance Institute in an effort to help them do just that,” said Mahin Ibrahim, Director, Creative Talent Pathways, Representation & Inclusion Strategies. “At Disney, we believe in the power of diverse voices and storytelling, and this initiative reaffirms our commitment to empowering underrepresented talent in the industry.”

Official Trailer For Epic Samurai Action “Shogun” Released

Based on James Clavell’s novel, FX’s Shōgun and is set in Japan in the year 1600 at the dawn of a century-defining civil war.

The film is set in the 17th Century, and follows John Blackthorne, a sailor who rises from outsider to samurai, while being used as a pawn in Japanese leader Toranaga’s struggle to reach the top of the ruling chain, or Shogun.

The 10-episode limited series features an impressive Japanese cast and stars including Hiroyuki Sanada, Cosmo Jarvis, Anna Sawai, Tadanobu Asano, Yûki Kedôin, Eushin Lee

The film is set for release in February 2024 on Hulu and FX.

“Godzilla Minus One” Final Trailer Released

The latest trailer features the iconic pop culture icon rampaging throughout postwar Japan. Along with the new trailer also comes the release of a new poster for Godzilla Minus One.

With so many iterations of the film over the decades, the new film follows beginning, as the synopsis reads: “Post-war Japan is at its lowest point when a new crisis emerges in the form of a giant monster, baptized in the horrific power of the atomic bomb.”

Directed by Takashi Yamazaki, the film stars Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, and Kuranosuke Sasaki.

The movie releases into Japanese theaters today, in time to celebrate the franchise’s 70th anniversary. Then the film will be released in the US on Dec. 1, 2023.

“Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes” Teaser Trailer Released

20th Century Studios has recently released a new teaser trailer for its upcoming science fiction action film “Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes”.

“Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes” is the fourth installment in the Planet of the Apes the modern reboot version of the franchise, and takes place a few generations after 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic, franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is directed by Wes Ball (the “Maze Runner” trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (“IT”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Kevin Durand (Locke & Key”), Peter Macon (“Shameless”), and William H. Macy (“Fargo”). The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”) and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Avatar: The Way of Water”) and Patrick Aison (“Prey”), based on characters created by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and the producers are Wes Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr. (“The Maze Runner”), Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Jason Reed (“Mulan”), with Peter Chernin (the “Planet of the Apes” trilogy) and Jenno Topping (“Ford v. 20th Century Studios is set to release Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes on May 24, 2024.

New Trailer for David Fincher’s “The Killer” Release

The new official trailer for “The Killer” the latest adventure crime film by David Fincher, has been released.

The film features Michael Fssbender as stone cold assassin who gets embroiled in an international manhunt he insists isn’t personal.

It is based on Alexis Nolent and Luc Jacamon’s graphic novel series, and was adapted by Fincher’s “Fight Club” screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker.

Starring Michael Fassbender, Tilda Swinton, Charles Parnell, Arliss Howard, Kerry O’Malley, Endre Hules, Sophie Charlotte, “The Killer” is set for streaming by Netflix on November 10.

Gripping “Leave the World Behind”: Sam Esmail’s Netflix Sci-Fi Drama

The psychological thriller follows a family vacation on Long Island, interrupted by two strangers bearing news of a blackout. As the threat grows, both families must decide how best to survive the potential crisis, all while grappling with their own place in this collapsing world.

Based on the novel by Rumaan Alam, the film stars Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali, Myha’la Herrold, Charlie Evans, Kevin Bacon.

The psychological thriller is directed and produced by Sam Esmail. It recently had its world premiere at the AFI Fest.

“Leave The World Behind” is set for release in select theaters on November 22, 2023, and then on Netflix on December 8.

Mystery/Thriller “Ghosts of the Void” Set Release Date

Jen and Tyler used to have it all: a solid marriage, a nice home, and careers that promised a bright future. But when Tyler’s drinking problem worsens, and his writer’s block continues, the debt collectors show no mercy, forcing the couple out of their home and into their car.

Beyond stressed, exhausted, and overwhelmed with feelings of failure, Jen and Tyler park their car in a vacant lot, hoping to get a good night’s sleep before dealing with the realities of tomorrow. However, their sleep becomes interrupted by homeless passersby, mischievous local kids, and eventually, ominous strangers in harrowing masks.

The film has set screening in limited theaters which began on October 13, 2023, and on digital and on demand on November 7, 2023.

“All of Us Strangers” Leads Gotham Awards Nominations

The 2023 Gotham Awards, marking the start of the awards season, have just announced their list of nominees.

The nominees were announced by Gotham Film & Media Institute executive director Jeffrey Sharp and deputy director Kia Brooks.

Writer-director Andrew Haigh’s critically acclaimed romantic drama “All of Us Strangers” from Searchlight led with four nominations at the Gotham Awards, including a nod for Best International Feature. The Gotham Awards are touted as the first major awards show of the season.

“We are proud to announce this year’s Gotham Award nominees and look forward to celebrating these amazing storytellers in a few weeks,” Sharp said during the broadcast. “The Gotham Awards in many ways reflects the industry and community we serve. Seen by this year’s nominees, storytelling knows no boundaries as our industry continues to find new audiences across the globe.”

Along with “All of Us Strangers,” films up for best international feature include the French courtroom drama thriller “Anatomy of a Fall,” the black comedy fantasy film “Poor Things,” the family drama “Tótem” and historical drama film “The Zone of Interest”.

Past winners of the big prize at Gothams included “Spotlight” (2015), “Moonlight” (2016) and “Everything Everywhere All at Once” (2022). All such films eventually won the the Academy Awards’ Best Picture Film in their respective years.

The Gotham Awards will be held live Monday, Nov. 27, in New York City at 7 p.m.

“Killers Of The Flower Moon” Final Trailer Released

Apple TV has just released the final trailer for Killers of the Flower Moon, the highly-anticipated epic Western crime drama from legendary director Martin Scorsese.

The film tells the story wherein, at the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder.

The film is stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, and Jillian Dion.

“Killers Of The Flower Moon” is directed and produced by Martin Scorsese, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Eric Roth. It is set for release on October 20, 2023.
