Kristen Bell and Adam Brody Fall In “Nobody Wants This”

In the series, an agnostic podcast host and an unconventional rabbi on the rebound walk into a party. When they walk out — together — the unlikely pair, Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody), can tell there is something between them.

But also potentially between them, with their differing outlooks on life, all of the modern obstacles to love, and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families — including her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe) and his brother Sasha (Timothy Simons).

Also in the cast are Sherry Cola, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Emily Arlook, Stephen Schneider

The new series is set to premiere on Netflix globally on September 26, 2024.

“Terrifier 3” “Naughty” Trailer Released

terrifier3A new trailer has been released for Terrifier 3, the latest entry in the popular supernatural slasher franchise from writer director Damien Leone.

David Howard Thornton reprises the role of Art the Clown, who unleashes chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.

Terrifier 2 was a boxoffice hit, grossing 15.7 million back in 2022.

The film also stars Daniel Roebuck, Lauren LaVera, Elliott Fullam, Samantha Scaffidi, Margaret Anne Florence, Chris Irvine, Larry Zerner, Charlotte McKee, Sienna Hubert-Ross

Terrifier 3 is set for release on October 11.

Trailer For “Joan”, New ITV Series Starring Sophie Turner

ITV has released the trailer for its new series ‘Joan’, the upcoming six-part drama starring Sophie Turner (‘Game of Thrones’).

Directed by Richard Laxton, “Joan” is created and written by Anna Symon and also stars Frank Dillaine, Kirsty J Curtis, Gershwyn Eustache Jnr and Laura Aikman.

It will be aired by the CW starting Tuesday, October 2.

Here’s the synopsis for “Joan”:

A woman who goes between her thriving and daring career as a jewel thief, all whilst trying to get her daughter back from social services, we see a mother in despair swept up in the exhilarating world of crime.

superman-the-christopher-reeve-storyThe trailer for one of the year’s most anticipated movies has been released. Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story is the upcoming new documentary from Warner Bros, about Christopher Reeve.

Directed by BAFTA Award-nominated filmmakers Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui (McQueen), it features interviews with Reeve’s three children, close friends actors Susan Sarandon and Glenn Close, and Reeve’s wife, Dana, who died in 2006 of lung cancer.

This astonishing new documentary charts Reeve’s rise to stardom and his journey to becoming a real–life hero. After a near–fatal horse–riding accident in 1995 left him paralyzed from the neck down, Reeve became a charismatic leader and activist in the quest to find a cure for spinal cord injuries, as well as a passionate advocate for disability rights and care—all while continuing his career in cinema in front of and behind the camera and dedicating himself to his beloved family.

The documentary premiered earlier this year to critical acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival.

Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story is only available in theaters September 21 and September 25.

Comedy Central’s “Everybody Still Hates Chris” To Premiere Wednesday, September 25th

everybody-still-hates-chrisComedy Central today announced the premiere date of its highly anticipated adult animated series, Everybody Still Hates Chris. The reimagined series starring and executive produced by Chris Rock premieres Wednesday, September 25 at 10pm ET/PT.

Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold also star alongside Tim Johnson Jr., Ozioma Akagha, Terrence Little Gardenhigh, and Gunnar Sizemore. The series is produced by CBS Studios and Chris Rock Enterprises, in association with 3 Arts Entertainment.

Everybody Still Hates Chris will feature Chris Rock (“Rustin,” “Fargo”) as “Adult Chris,” narrating stories inspired by his experience growing up as a skinny nerd in a large working-class family in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, during the late 1980s. Terry Crews (“America’s Got Talent”, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) will voice “Julius,” Chris’ father who is a gentle giant with a relentless work ethic, and tightwad approach to life. He grew up dirt poor, so he knows the cost of everything down to the penny. He works two jobs to support the family, and on his days off, he takes on a third job. Tichina Arnold (“The Neighborhood”) will voice “Rochelle,” Chris’ mother who is smart, strong-willed, and has a nurturing spirit, but she can also be hot-headed, especially when it comes to her kids. She tolerates zero nonsense, so she quits more jobs in a month than most people do in a lifetime.

Alex Wolff Star In Campus Thriller “The Line”

the-lineAlex Wolff and Halle Bailey star in fraternity drama “The Line”, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

In the film, Alex Wolff stars as Tom, a scholarship student desperate to break free from his working-class background who is charmed by the prestigious KNA fraternity’s promises of high social status and alumni connections that open doors. But upon beginning a romance with Annabelle (Halle Bailey), a classmate outside of his social circle, and the manipulative schemes of his fraternity president (Lewis Pullman) unfolding during the hazing of new members, Tom finds himself ensnared in a perilous game of ambition and loyalty.

Also starring in the film are Lewis Pullman, Austin Abrams, Angus Cloud, Bo Mitchell, Cheri Oteri, Scoot McNairy, Denise Richards, John Malkovich.

“The Line” is directed by Ethan Berger, a writer and producer on the 8-part mini-series “More Than an Athlete” for ESPN, which chronicled the rise of LeBron James, Mav Carter, Rich Paul, and Randy Mims. His debut narrative The Line, which he wrote and directed, premiered at Tribeca Festival in the summer of 2023.

The film opens in select theaters on October 18th, and expands on October 23rd.

Trailer, Poster For Action Thriller “Kung Fu Games”

kung-fu-gamesParamount has released a trailers for it upcoming action Kung Fu Games, starring Mark Strange, Caitlin Dechelle, Jade Xu, Jose Manuel, Lathrop Walker, Matt Goodwin.

In “Kung Fu Games”, notorious fighters are trapped in lethal martial arts games by a sadistic magnate. Armed only with their combat skills, they face brutal battles for survival in a deadly kill-or-be-killed showdown.

The movie was directed by Ryan Jaeger, and is set for release in select theatres August 23, 2024, double feature with action thriller Lady Scorpions.

From the screenplay by Ryan Jaeger and H. Daniel Gross, it is set to be available to buy on digital on September 10, 2024.

Lucy Liu’s ‘Pirate Queen’ Franchise with Singer Studio’s Expands to Include Graphic Novel and Podcast

pirate-queenSinger Studios has announced exciting expansions to their Emmy-nominated virtual reality experience The Pirate Queen, featuring Lucy Liu. The groundbreaking project, which immerses audiences in the extraordinary life of Cheng Shih—history’s most powerful pirate—will now include a graphic novel series and a podcast. Directed by Eloise Singer and narrated by Liu, The Pirate Queen tells the story of Cheng Shih, who commanded a 70,000-strong fleet during the lead-up to the Opium Wars. The original VR experience, based on a story by Maja Bodenstein, earned widespread acclaim in 2023, winning the Tribeca Storyscapes Award and the Raindance Discovery Award. It is currently nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Emerging Media category.

The upcoming graphic novel, to be published worldwide by Andrews McMeel Publishing, will kick off The Pirate Queen series co-created by Singer and Liu. The expansive project will continue to explore the world of history’s most formidable female pirates, telling the stories of 17 women who led pirate fleets across the globe.
