Jet2 Partners with Adobe to Build AI-Powered Holiday Planning Tools

ADOBE-JET-2UK tour operator Jet2 is teaming up with Adobe to bring personalized AI features to its 10 million customers.

The multi-year partnership centers on Adobe CX Enterprise Coworker, which uses AI to help Jet2 staff deliver customized travel recommendations at scale. The system will suggest destinations based on each customer’s booking history and preferences, from family resorts to city breaks, and create daily itineraries for travelers already on vacation.

Jet2 will also use Adobe’s content tools to produce on-brand material faster. Adobe Firefly Foundry lets the company build custom AI models trained on its own assets, while Adobe Brand Intelligence keeps outputs consistent across platforms.

A new joint Customer Experience Lab will bring Adobe engineers and Jet2’s digital teams together to test and build new AI services, like smarter ways to match travelers with trips that fit their style.

“Customers know they will always receive a VIP experience when they holiday with us,” said David Hills, Jet2’s chief customer officer. “Working with Adobe will enable us to serve our customers even better, using the power of AI to make every interaction more personal, more relevant, more timely and always helpful.”

Jet2 is the UK’s largest tour operator and third largest airline, flying from 14 UK airports.

Free TV Gets Cheaper: Broadcast Industry Pushes Toward Affordable NEXTGEN Converter Boxes

The shift to next-generation over-the-air TV just got easier on the wallet.

Pearl TV announced major progress on making NEXTGEN TV converter boxes more affordable, a critical step in moving U.S. households from the old ATSC 1.0 standard to the new ATSC 3.0. The initiative brings together patent holders, tech licensors, testing labs, and security providers, all cutting costs to support cheaper devices that’ll plug into existing TVs.

NEXTGEN TV now reaches 78 markets and over 75% of U.S. TV households. More than 19 million compatible sets have shipped since rollout began. But converter boxes mean viewers don’t need a new TV to access the upgraded broadcasts.

“A successful transition requires affordable products that enable all consumers to continue enjoying free over-the-air television,” says Anne Schelle, Pearl TV’s managing director.

The boxes will support advanced emergency alerts with richer, geo-targeted info and a consistent interface across channels. That framework came out of Sinclair and ONE Media’s work with the NAB NextGen TV News Technology Lab.

And the picture’s only getting better. HDR services are live now for 80 million viewers. Native HDR for sports and entertainment rolls out later this year, with 4K Ultra-HD broadcasts expected in 2027.

New converter boxes should hit retail in early 2027. For an industry preparing to transition more than 1,600 commercial stations, affordable gear matters.

Cloud Dancer, the Pantone color of the year for 2026.Pantone

Pantone has unveiled Cloud Dancer, a soft white neutral, as its official 2026 Color of the Year, marking a notable shift toward subtlety after years of saturated and expressive tones.

Described by the Pantone Color Institute as a “calming, aerated white” that embodies clarity, serenity, and creative renewal, Cloud Dancer reflects what the organization sees as a cultural move toward quiet focus and intentional simplicity. The shade is positioned as both versatile and expressive, able to harmonize with softened palettes or provide crisp contrast across fashion, interiors, product design, and digital spaces.

Pantone’s annual selection, launched in 1999, draws on global research across design, technology, culture, entertainment, and emerging visual trends. According to the Institute, Cloud Dancer represents a desire for a fresh start in a world negotiating rapid digital acceleration while seeking deeper human connection.

The announcement follows recent picks such as Mocha Mousse (2025), a warm, comforting brown, and Peach Fuzz (2024), a soft peach tone symbolizing gentleness and wellbeing.

As Pantone describes it, Cloud Dancer is a “pared-back, reflective white that encourages balance and creative expression”, a quiet statement hue chosen for a moment defined by transition.

Cyber Monday Hits Record $13.3 Billion in Online Spending with Majority of Sales Driven by Mobile

adobeToday, Adobe (Nasdaq:ADBE) released online shopping data for the 2024 holiday season covering Cyber Week, the five-day shopping period from Thanksgiving through Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Based on Adobe Analytics data, the report provides the most comprehensive view into U.S. e-commerce by analyzing commerce transactions online, covering over 1 trillion visits to U.S. retail sites, 100 million SKUs and 18 product categories. Adobe Analytics is relied upon by the majority of the top 100 internet retailers in the U.S.* to deliver, measure and personalize shopping experiences online.

Consumers spent a total of $13.3 billion on Cyber Monday, up 7.3% YoY, and surpassing Adobe’s initial projection of $13.2 billion. In the peak hours of 8 pm to 10 pm, consumers spent $15.8 million every minute. Cyber Monday remains the biggest online shopping day of all time, as shoppers took advantage of bigger-than-expected discounts in categories such as electronics (peaking at 30.1% off listed price), toys (26.1%), apparel (23.2%), televisions (21.8%), and computers (21.5%).

Cyber Week (the five days from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday) brought in $41.1 billion online overall, up 8.2% YoY. It was bolstered by record spending online during Thanksgiving ($6.1 billion, up 8.8% YoY), Black Friday ($10.8 billion, up 10.2% YoY) and over the weekend of Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 ($10.9 billion, up 5.8% YoY). Adobe expects the full holiday season (Nov. 1 to Dec. 31, 2024) to hit $240.8 billion, up 8.4% YoY.

Deals are expected to linger in the weeks ahead. After Cyber Week, discounts will come down from their peaks, but shoppers can still find good bargains through December 2024 in computers (peaking at 18% off listed price), toys (18%), electronics (17%), televisions (17%), apparel (17%), sporting goods (16%), and appliances (14%).

“While Cyber Monday remained the season’s and year’s biggest online shopping day, year-over-year growth was stronger on both Thanksgiving and Black Friday,” said Vivek Pandya, lead analyst, Adobe Digital Insights. “Early discounts were strong enough that many consumers felt comfortable hitting the buy button earlier on during Cyber Week, with Cyber Monday becoming ‘last call’ for shoppers to take advantage of big holiday deals.”
