Pearl Jam Announce New Album, Dark Matter, Out April 19, 2024 Plus World Tour

Pearl-Jam-concert-new-album-2024Pearl Jam will release their twelfth studio album, Dark Matter, on Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records on April 19, 2024 and launch a 35-date worldwide tour this May. The album’s title track is available now HERE. Produced by multi-GRAMMY® award winning producer Andrew Watt, Dark Matter, marks the band’s first release since critically-acclaimed Gigaton (2020). Dark Matter is now available for pre-order.

In 2023, the members of Pearl Jam—Eddie Vedder [vocals], Jeff Ament [bass], Stone Gossard [rhythm guitar], Mike McCready [lead guitar], and Matt Cameron [drums]—retreated to Shangri-La Studios in Malibu where they simply plugged in and played with producer Andrew Watt at the helm.

The musicians faced one another in the same space and communicated sonically at the highest level. Writing and recording in a burst of inspiration, Dark Matter was born in just three weeks.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Announces Nominees For 2024 Induction

RockHall2024-NomineesThe Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced on Saturday its 15 nominees who could possibly be inducted into the Rock Hall this year.

“This remarkable list of Nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates,” Sykes said. “Continuing in the true spirit of Rock & Roll, these artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps.”

Nominees for 2024 Induction include: Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Eric B. & Rakim, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Jane’s Addiction, Kool & the Gang, Lenny Kravitz, Oasis, Sinéad O’Connor, Ozzy Osbourne, Sade, and A Tribe Called Quest.

According to the Hall of Fame, artists must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination to be eligible. Of the 15 nominees, ten are on the ballot for the first time. They are Mariah Carey, Cher, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & the Gang, Lenny Kravitz, Oasis, Sinéad O’Connor, Ozzy Osbourne and Sade.

Inductees is set to be announced in late April. The exact date and location have yet to be announced. Last year’s inductees included Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliot, George Michael, Willie Nelson and more.

“Lost Angel: The Genius Of Judee Sill” Official Trailer And Poster Released

LOST-ANGEL-The-Genius-Of-Judee-SillGreenwich Entertainment announced today the acquisition of North American distribution rights to Lost Angel: The Genius of Judee Sill directed by Andy Brown and Brian Lindstrom (Alien Boy: The Life & Death of James Chasse).

The Onwards and Upwards, Batterymarch Films, and Submarine Deluxe production had its World Premiere at DOC NYC and Greenwich will release the film in theaters on April 12.

An intimate portrait of a one-of-a-kind singer-songwriter from 1970s Los Angeles, the documentary charts the life of Judee Sill from a troubled adolescence that included armed robbery and prison through her meteoric rise in the music world and tragic early death.

In just over two years, Judee went from living in a car to a deal with Asylum Records and the cover of Rolling Stone . As told by Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, Graham Nash, David Geffen and JD Souther — along with Judee herself — the film explores Judee’s unique musical style and the inspiring recent rediscovery of her singular music by a new generation of musicians including Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes, Adrianne Lenker and Buck Meek of Big Thief, Shawn Colvin and Weyes Blood.

Luke Bryan Announces “Mind Of A Country Boy Tour”

Luke-Bryan-tourFive-time Entertainer of the Year and American Idol celebrity judge Luke Bryan will kick off his 2024 “Mind Of A Country Boy Tour” in Canada in Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome on April 17 with Chayce Beckham and Tenille Arts joining. Luke will also feature multiple special guests throughout the “Mind Of A Country Boy Tour”: Tenille Arts, Chayce Beckham, George Birge, King Calaway, Dillon Carmichael, Larry Fleet, HunterGirl, Ella Langley, Tracy Lawrence, Kameron Marlowe, Chase Matthew, Meghan Patrick, Lily Rose, Josh Ross, Alana Springsteen, Zach Top, and DJ Rock. The tour boasts two stadium dates this year, Truist Field in Atlanta on August 17 with Bailey Zimmerman, Kameron Marlowe and Chayce Beckham and Wrigley Field in Chicago on August 25 with Bailey Zimmerman, Tracy Lawrence and Chayce Beckham. The tour is produced by Live Nation.

“Mind Of A Country Boy Tour” is aptly titled after a song from Luke’s upcoming album release.

During his career Luke has performed for more than 14 million fans inclusive of his numerous headline tours, “Crash My Playa,” “Luke Bryan: VEGAS” and “Farm Tour.”

First Trailer And Poster To Amy Winehouse Biopic “Back to Black” Released

back-to-blackThe upcoming biographical film is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, from a script written by Matt Greenhalgh.

Marisa Abela as the late British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, who was known for mix of musical genres influences, and for her hit songs like “Rehab” and “Back to Black”.

“Back to Black” is also the title of her second and last studio album,, which was released in 2006, won five Grammy Awards and was a huge international, becoming one of the biggest albums in UK history.

Also in the movie are Jack O’Connell as Amy’s ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, Eddie Marsan and Juliet Cowan as Amy’s parents, Mitch and Janis Winehouse, and Lesley Manville as Amy’s grandmother Cynthia.

The film is set for release on May 17, 2024 by Focus Features.

Sundance 2024: DIG! XX’ by Ondi Timoner Returns to Sundance 20 Years Later

XX is the 20th anniversary expanded, remastered and reimagined edition of the rock doc DIG!, which looks at the collision of art and commerce through the eyes of two dueling rock bands — The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre — now over 27 years on, which adds new narration by The Brian Jonestown Massacre’s Joel Gion and features 40+ minutes of never-before-seen footage.

“Twenty years ago, we had 2,500 hours of footage and a five-hour cut, so a lot of really great stuff hit the cutting room floor,” said DIG! XX director and producer Ondi Timoner.“A lot of those tapes are over a quarter century old — so if we wanted to share more of this crazy story, it was now or never…” says Ondi Timoner
