Netflix Reveals First Look At That 70s Show Spin-offNetflix is set to release a That ’70s Show spinoff series called “That ’90s Show” in January 19, 2023. The original Fox sitcom hit “That ’70s Show” ran from 1998-2006.

The show focuses on Eric and Donna’s daughter, Leia Forman, and Kelso and Jackie’s son, Jay Kelso. Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp reprises their roles as Red and Kitty, respectively.

In the spinoff, It’s 1995 and Leia Forman is desperate for some adventure in her life or at least a best friend who isn’t her dad. When she arrives in Point Place to visit her grandparents, Red and Kitty, Leia finds what she’s looking for right next door when she meets the dynamic and rebellious Gwen.

With the help of Gwen’s friends, including her lovable brother Nate, his smart, laser-focused girlfriend Nikki, the sarcastic and insightful Ozzie, and the charming Jay, Leia realizes adventure could happen there just like it did for her parents all those years ago. Excited to reinvent herself, she convinces her parents to let her stay for the summer. With a basement full of teens again, Kitty is happy the Forman house is now a home for a new generation and Red is, well…Red.

2022 Online Association of Female Film Critics Winners

OAFFC Everything Everywhere All at OnceThis week, the Online Association of Female Film Critics have announced their winners for this year’s best film. “Everything Everywhere All At Once” led the list with with 8, including Best Film, Best Director and three of the four acting awards.

The Online Association of Female Film Critics (OAFFC) is an independent organization consisting of female film journalists and critics from across the globe.

According to its website oaffc.com, The OAFFC “serves to uphold the integrity of online film criticism, foster the growing field of female film writers, celebrate and recognize outstanding achievement in cinema through our annual “Best of the Year” awards, and provide professional support for our members.”

“Avatar: The Way of Water” Original Score Released, With Music By Simon Franglen

Avatar The Way of Water Original Score Released Simon FranglenHollywood Records has announced the release of Avatar: The Way of Water (Original Score) on all streaming platforms (listen here.) Featuring music by GRAMMY® Award-winning composer Simon Franglen, the 32-track album includes 11 additional score cues from the film not available on the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

Franglen, who worked with composer James Horner on the original “Avatar” film, picked up where Horner left off following his tragic death in 2015, spending a large portion of the last three years composing the three-hour score to “Avatar: The Way of Water,” traveling to New Zealand to collaborate with James Cameron. Franglen was also responsible for the production and further composition of the music throughout “Pandora–The World of Avatar,” which opened at Walt Disney World in Florida in May 2017 and is working on the next “Avatar” sequel to be released in 2024.

Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, “Avatar: The Way of Water” begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive and the tragedies they endure. Directed by James Cameron, “Avatar: The Way of Water” stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Rabisi and Kate Winslet. The screenplay is from James Cameron & Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver.

Trailer For “Book Club: The Next Chapter” Released

Trailer For Book Club The Next Chapter Released“Book Club: The Next Chapter” reunites Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen. The film is a sequel to 2018 film “Book Club”.

The original centered on four older women who have all attended a weekly book club together for 40 years.

The highly anticipated sequel follows the four best friends as they take their book club to Italy for the fun girls trip they never had. When things go off the rails and secrets are revealed, their relaxing vacation turns into a once-in-a-lifetime cross-country adventure.

“The book says that we can’t reject our destiny,” Steenburgen’s character tells her friends while holding The Alchemist book in the trailer. “And I think we should all go to Italy.”

Written and directed by Bill Holderman, “Book Club: The Next Chapter” is set for release on May 12, 2023.

“Price We Pay” Trailer Released

Price We Pay Trailer ReleasedThe upcoming action thriller is directed by Ryuhei Kitamura, who previously directed the 2008 horror film The Midnight Meat Train.

Lionsgate has released an intense new red band trailer for the film which gives us a look at the film. The film is set for release on VOD on January 10 and select theaters on January 13.

“Price We Pay” stars Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild) and Stephen Dorff (Blade).

First Trailer for Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” Released

The very first Footage Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer movie was shown exclusively in theaters prior to IMAX screenings of the new Avatar.

Just like the director’s previous film, Tenet, the trailer for “Oppenheimer” was shown exclusively in theaters in front of a major film release, in this case, in front of Avatar: The Way of Water’s IMAX screenings. So it is entirely possible as well that the footage will most likely not be released online or elsewhere.

“Oppenheimer” is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning biography American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. The upcoming biographical film is written and directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist who is credited often as the “father of the atomic bomb” for his role in the Manhattan Project, the research and development undertaking during World War II that produced the first nuclear weapons.

During a recent interview with Total Film magazine, the director mentioned that they had recreated the Trinity test, which is the first successful detonation of a nuclear weapon, without the use of CGI.

The film includes a star-studded cast which includes, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Jack Quaid and Matthew Modine among many others.

Oppenheimer is set for release on July 21, 2023, by Universal Pictures.

Sundance to honor Luca Guadagnino with International Icon AwardToday the nonprofit Sundance Institute announced that Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Luca Guadagnino will receive the International Icon Award at Opening Night: A Taste of Sundance presented by IMDbPro on January 19 in Park City. Guadagnino will join previously announced honorees of the evening, Ryan Coogler, W. Kamau Bell, and Nikyatu Jusu. The 2023 Sundance Film Festival will take place January 19–29, 2023, in person in Park City, Salt Lake City, and the Sundance Resort, along with a selection of films available online across the country January 24–29, 2023.

The Award recognizes an international auteur who creates distinctive cinematic universes and has made a lasting impact on filmmaking, most notably through a commitment to storytelling and an unwavering creative vision. Guadagnino is the writer, director, and producer of several celebrated films who most recently directed Bones and All. He has strong roots in the Sundance community going back over a decade.

He made his Sundance debut at the 2010 Festival with his film I Am Love, which he wrote, directed, and produced. In 2017, Guadagnino made his return to the Festival with the premiere of his Academy Award-winning film, Call Me By Your Name, starring Timothée Chalamet. Guadagnino also produced the documentary The Truffle Hunters, which played at the Festival in 2020. He has won and been nominated for several awards, including Venice Film Festival, Golden Lion BAFTA Award for Best Direction, and Nastro d’Argento for Best Director.

Dark comedy “The Banshees of Inisherin” leads the list of nominations for Golden Globes 2023, announceed on Monday.

“Banshees” received 8 nods, including Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy and Best Director. The film stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, as lifelong buddies whose friendship turned sour, also received acting nominations.

The Golden Globes also recognize achievements in television, where the sitcom “Abbott Elementary” led the list of nominations with five nods, including best comedy series.

The 80th Golden Globe Awards is set to air live on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. Comedian Jerrod Carmichael is set to host. This will NBC’s first live telecast of the awards show since 2021.

Trailer For The Pale Blue Eye Thriller Starring Christian Bale ReleasedChristian Bale is reuniting with Scott Cooper for the upcoming thriller “The Pale Blue Eye”. The film is adapted from the 2003 novel by Louis Bayard of the same name.

Bale aand Cooper previously worked together in the 2013 crime drama “Out of the Furnace”, as well as 2017’s classic western “Hostiles”.
