Indie Video Games Concert Event “Game Theory” at Ford Theaters in Los Angeles

World Concert Premieres from Six Popular Video Game Composers performed by the Hollywood Studio Symphony Orchestra at the Ford Theatres on Oct. 5th

Ford Theatres, alongside Musicians at Play (MAP) Foundation, composer Chad Seiter, Juncture Media and Materia Collective will present the first-ever GAME THEORY concert on October 5, 2019.

Award-winning and critically acclaimed composers Chad Seiter (ReCore), Austin Wintory (Journey), Grant Kirkhope (Banjo-Kazooie),Laura Shigihara (Plants vs. Zombies, Rakuen), Lena Raine (Celeste), and Jake Kaufman (Shovel Knight) have scored music to some of the most popular video games from the past decade. They will each appear on stage during the concert event to introduce and talk about their fantastic work. In addition to their existing scores, the concert will also feature all-new original compositions written specifically for this show.

Always Sunny’s Rob McElhenney Unveils “Mythic Quest”

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star and creator Rob McElhenney was at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles during Ubisoft’s E3 press conference, where he talked aobut his upcoming new show for Apple TV Plus called “Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet.”

The new series was first revealed last summer although not a lot of information was available. At the time, McElhenney was attached to direct another video-game film adaptation, Minecraft, a project he vacated shortly after.

The live-action comedy series was developed by McElhenney, along with his Sunny comrade Charlie Day and executive producer Megan Ganz.

McElhenney is the lead in the series, supposedly playing an egomaniac video game studio director Ian Grimm.

“Like most of the creative directors I’ve met, he has the ego the size of a city bus,” McElhenney said on stage. “I’m going to get my ass kicked backed stage because there are lot of creative directors here.”

“Mortal Kombat” Reboot Gets A 2021 Release Date

The highly anticipated upcoming reboot of “Mortal Kombat” is now set to hit theaters March 5, 2021, Warner Bros. announced on Friday.

Aquaman director James Wan is set to produce the film with Simon McQuoid is attached to direct. McQuoid is a first time feature film director but has worked on Playstation commercials.

Wan has been attached as producer of the film since 2015. The cast for the film is yet to be announced.

The news was announced earlier this week by Premier of South Australia, Steven Marshall. “I’m really happy and excited to be bringing another show back to Australia with Mortal Kombat, especially after having such a great experience filming Aquaman,” Wan said of the announcement.

“Now we get to experience South Australia with its scenic locations and a wealth of artistic talent to work with. It will be perfectly suited for this fantasy-action project.”

The first Mortal Kombat film came out back in 1995, which was directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, who went on to do various sci-fi films and video game adaptations.

Margot Robbie To Play Barbie In New Warner Bros. Live-Action Film

Harley Quinn is about to live in a Barbie world. The “Suicide Squad” actress is set to play the iconic fashion doll from toy company Mattel, Inc., Variety is reporting.

Warner Bros. is said to be partnering with the fashion doll’s toy manufacturer Mattel to bring the film to the big screen, and the first movie from the company’s film division Mattel Films, and their first collaboration with Warner Bros.

“Playing with Barbie promotes confidence, curiosity and communication throughout a child’s journey to self-discovery. Over the brand’s almost 60 years, Barbie has empowered kids to imagine themselves in aspirational roles from a princess to president,” Robbie said.

“I’m so honored to take on this role and produce a film that I believe will have a tremendously positive impact on children and audiences worldwide. I can’t imagine better partners than Warner Bros and Mattel to bring this film to the big screen.”

Robbie recently earned an academy award nomination for best actress for her portrayal of Tonya Hardin in the biographical film I, Tonya which she also produced. Currently, she can be seen in theaters as Queen Elizabeth I in Mary Queen of Scots, alongside Saoirse Ronan.

Writers Guild Awards Nominees Include “Roma, “Black Panther,” “Green Book”

The Writers Guild of America officially joins the awards circuit, announcing its list of 2019 nominees for Best Screenplays.

Among those receiving nominations for original screenplay are Alfonso Cuaron’s “Roma,” Nick Vallelonga & Brian Currie & Peter Farrelly’s “Green Book” and Adam McKay’s “Vice”, along with Bryan Woods & Scott Beck and John Krasinski for “A Quiet Place” and Bo Burnham for “Eighth Grade”.

The Adapted Screenplay category include titles such as “BlackKklansman”, “Black Panther”, “If Beale Street Could Talk”, “A Star is Born” and “Can You Ever Forgive Me?”

Conspicuously missing are The National Society of Film Critics’ screenplay runner up “The Favorite” and National Board of Review screenplay winner “First Reformed.”

Writers Guild Awards will be held on February 17 at dual ceremonies at the Edison Ballroom in New York and the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Gundam Live-Action Film In The Works

Get ready, Mobile Suit Gundam is about to get a live-action feature film treatment, as Legendary and Sunrise are teaming up for the production, Variety is reporting.

The collaboration to produce the first ever live-action film of the popular mecha anime was announced at Anime Expo 2018 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The multibillion-dollar Gundam franchise is massively successful, having grossed over $5 billion in retail sale, animated films, models and books among others.

The original Mobile Suit Gundam debuted in 1979 and was set in a fictional universe Universal Century wherein human space colonies wage war against earth for their independence. It is here where we saw mobile suites, a new type of humanoid weapons.

Recently, one of the more popular Gundam mecha made a special appearance in Ready Player One, Steven Spielberg’s science fiction adventure film which references various pop-culture characters. It was a crowd pleasing cameo which sees the character battle against Mechagodzilla and possibly aided the film’s box-office success.

The film’s plot has not yet been revealed, and no actors or director is currently attached.

Legendary has a new film set for release this month in the form of Skyscraper, Dwayne Johnson’s latest action-thriller.

Villains Are The Stars In “LEGO DC Super-Villains” Trailer

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Game have released a trailer for its new Lego game “LEGO DC Super-Villains,” which is set to release October 16 on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC and Xbox One, confirming rumors that has been around for a few months now about the existence of the game.

Here, game players can create customizable super villain, who will be the main character to team-up with iconic super-villains Harley Quinn, The Joker, Poison Ivy and Lex Luthor among others in order to “foil the evil plans the incognito strangers have in store.”

As players progress in the game, players can upgrade the character with more powers and abilities to their custom villain.

Recently, Warner Bros. Games and TT Games have teased the game, after posting a tweet the says “chaos is coming.” It certain looks like action packed, hilarious and fun game to look forward to.

In Lego DC Super-Villains, the Justice League has disappeared, leaving Earth’s protection to a newcomer group of heroes from a parallel universe, proclaiming themselves as the ‘Justice Syndicate’. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series Returns November 7
