Jeff Lipsky’s Goldilocks and the Two Bears will debut and start its theatrical run where the majority of the film was shot: in Las Vegas/Summerlin. The screening will be both a homecoming and kickoff to a planned multi-city run throughout the U.S. this summer.
The film stars Claire Milligan, Bryan Mittelstadt and Serra Maiman. Lipsky also wrote the film.
“The movie’s title was a natural: this city is something out of a fairy tale, awash in dreams and nightmares, happy endings and aspirations, sometimes dashed in the twinkle of an eye. I’d seldom before been so juiced about finishing a script and getting a movie made as I was while living in the desert,” director Jeff Lipsky said.
“Against all odds I managed to amass an extraordinarily dedicated and talented local crew (save for two New Yorkers and two Californians), people who’d lived here their entire lives. Who knew? So it was that in late 2022 we all masked-up and determined to collaborate on what I believe could be my best film to date.”
Goldilocks and the Two Bears is the tale of two young people, hitchhiking and homeless travelers who’ve all but given up on futures that might have been glorious, who are discovered by another young woman on the run from her own demons, at an empty condo she is moving into. An unexpected relationship develops between the trio that brings with it both the promise of a fresh new start for each of them. However, the harrowing possibility of something darker looms.
The film is based on the infamous true story of the Charles Bannon case in the 1930s. It follows Sheriff CA Jacobson and States Attorney Sam Taylor as they try to find out what happened to the Haven Family.
The synopsis says, “when a family mysteriously disappears, the local sheriff struggles to keep order in a town set on vengeance.”
Along with Joseph Gray, the film also stars Chris Bylsma, Joseph Bezenek, Nick Saxton, Tiffany Cornwell, Megan Hensely, Christine Weber, and Charles O’Haver.
“End of the Rope” is directed by Charlie Griak, from a screenplay written by Daniel Bielinski and Griak.

“Out of Darkness” will be released exclusively in theaters nationwide on February 9, 2024. The film, which had its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival and its North American premiere at Fantastic Fest, was nominated for five British Independent Film Awards this past year, with a win for breakthrough performance for Safia Oakley-Green.
“Out of Darkness” is a survival horror film following a group of six who have struggled across the narrow sea to find a new home. They are starving, desperate, and living 45,000 years ago. First they must find shelter, and they strike out across the tundra wastes towards the distant mountains that promise the abundant caves they need to survive.
But when night falls, anticipation turns to fear and doubt as they realize they are not alone. As relationships in the group fracture, the determination of one young woman reveals the terrible actions taken to survive.
Adding to the film’s authenticity, “Out of Darkness” is shot on location in the Scottish Highlands with the use of a bespoke language called “Tola,” which was developed specifically for the project by a linguist and an archaeologist.
