New “It Chapter Two” Trailer Revealed At Comic Con

San Diego Comic-Con started early with its ScareDiego event featuring New Line and Warner Bros. “IT: Chapter Two”

Moderated by Conan O’Brien, the night showcased a gory and scary new trailer, along with three exclusive clips shown throughout the night.

Also joining the festivities were the stars playing the grown-up Loser’s Club: James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Isaiah Mustafa, and Andy Bean.

This time around, the new trailer featured the grown-up cast a lot more than the initial trailer released a couple of months ago. Chapter Two takes place 27 years after the events of the first film, which took place in 1989.

Bill Skarsgård also returns as Pennywise the Clown. The first film’s director Muschietti and writer Gary Dauberman are also back.

ScareDiego is part of Comic-Con’s preview night and held off San Diego’s Convention Center area. This year, it was held at Spreckels Theatre.

Written by Gary Dauberman from the book by Stephen King, It Chapter Two is set for release on September 6, 2019.

Tom Cruise Unveils ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ First Trailer

“Ladies and gentlemen, prepare to say hello to the biggest movie star you’re gonna meet in a long, long time,” comedian O’Brien said at the big SDCC stage. He was not kidding.

Tom Cruse made a surprise appearance at the 2019 Comic-Con International in San Diego Thursday, much to the delight and surprise of the fans at SDCC. The actor appeared on stage shortly after the end of the panel for another Paramount film, “Terminator: Dark Fate.”

The moviestar also unveiled a thrilling first trailer to his upcoming action drama film ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, the highly anticipated sequel to the 1986 global blockbuster “Top Gun.”

“Thirty-four years ago I made a movie in San Diego right here,” Cruise said about the original “Top Gun.” “I actually shot across the street at a restaurant.”

“For 34 years, you guys have been very very patient with me. And I felt that it was my responsibility to finally really deliver for you,” Cruise added about the iconic film.

“Maverick” of course is Cruise’s character nickname in the original film where he played LT Pete Mitchell, a reckless young naval aviator aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise. The global success of the original film made Cruise a bonafide star: grossing $356m worldwide against a modest $15 million budget, it was the highest grossing film that year.

“Everything you see in this film, obviously it’s for real. So the flying, working with the Navy, all the flying you’ll see in this picture, everything is real. I really wanted to give you all the experience of what it is to be inside that aircraft.”

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the film co-stars Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer who will reprise his role as Vice Admiral Tom “Iceman” Kazansky.

“Top Gun: Maverick” is set to hit theaters next June.

Marvel Entertainment Unveils 2019 San Diego Comic-Con Marvel Booth and Signing Schedules

Marvel Entertainment revealed its full booth event and signing schedules featuring a can’t-miss lineup of autographs, giveaways, exclusive previews, meetups, and more. Marvel is at booth #2329 where fans can experience some of their favorite stars and creators starting Thursday, July 18 through Sunday, July 21.

Kicking off with Earth’s Mightiest Show LIVE! on Thursday, this year’s Marvel Booth schedule will share live segments from Marvel Let’s Play, Women of Marvel, This Week in Marvel, Marvel Quickdraw, and Marvel’s Pull List. Fans can tune in for breaking news and exclusive livestream coverage from Marvel on Marvel.com, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, hosted by Ryan Penagos, Lorraine Cink, Langston Belton, Angélique Roché, Justin Warner, Nore Davis, and Josh Saleh.

Marvel’s signing schedule will include talent from Marvel Studios’ Avengers Endgame; Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; Marvel Games’ Marvel’s Avengers, MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order, and Marvel’s Iron Man VR; and legendary creators from your favorite comics – including Jonathan Hickman, the writer behind the highly-anticipated House of X and Powers of X series.

Also to appear is industry legend Rob Liefeld and Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski as they sign free copies of the Major X #1 Rob Liefeld variant cover from the all-new limited series starring Rob’s latest creation.

The Saturn Awards Announces 2019 Nominations

Nominations for the 45th annual Saturn Awards, honoring motion picture, television, home entertainment and live stage productions, were announced today. A beloved event for many of Hollywood’s top creative talent, the awards show will be available for the first time ever to global fans via a streaming partner, to be announced shortly. All 2019 Saturn Awards winners will be unveiled at the official ceremony on Friday, the 13th of September at the historic Avalon Theater in Los Angeles.

Leading the way with 14 Saturn Award film nominations is Marvel/Walt Disney Studio’s Avengers: Endgame, and Walt Disney Studio’s Aladdin in second place with nine. For television and streaming, HBO’s Game of Thrones leads with nine nominations, with The Haunting of Hill House and The Walking Dead following second with six nominations each. As a studio overall, Disney leads with 44 nominations among 12 film and television projects across its various companies, Marvel, Walt Disney Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm Ltd. and the Disney Channel.

As part of the show’s revitalization in 2019, the Saturn Awards has moved from its traditional June date to Friday the 13th of September. To accommodate this change, the eligibility window for this year’s nominations is based on a 16-month eligibility period, which includes projects publicly released from March 1, 2018 through July 7, 2019. The 46th annual Saturn Awards will be held at the end of summer/early fall 2020 and will resume a 12-month eligibility period.

SDCC 2019: Art Directors Guild Announces SDCC Line-Up

The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) returns to San Diego Comic-Con with an exciting 2019 line-up of panels about the world building artists who worked on Black Panther, Westworld, Captain Marvel, and many more. Audiences can expect to meet these insiders, learn rarely-heard insights, and discover behind the scenes explanations from key art department members like Production Designers, Art Directors, Illustrators, Graphic Designers, and Set Designers.

Additionally, the ADG will present two awards at the 2019 Masquerade, Comic-Con’s annual costume competition. The two winners will each receive a $500 prize for: The Art Directors Guild Cosplay Award for Original Concept Design, presented to an entry with the most originality. The other award, The Art Directors Guild Cosplay Award for Best Graphic Design, is based on superior implementation and craftwork.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child To Be Featured At This Year’s SDCC

The award-winning international hit stage production Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be featured at this year’s Comic-Con International: San Diego from July 18 to 21, 2019 with a booth and panel.

On Thursday, July 18 at 6pm, panel audiences will get an exclusive, never before seen insight into the world of the mind-blowing stage effects of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child when the show’s Magic and Illusions Designer Jamie Harrison and his associate Chris Fisher lead “Making Magic for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – An Interactive Masterclass.” With magical demonstrations, video footage and never-before told stories from the making of the show, audiences will learn how the magicians and actors use clever techniques and cunning psychology to make the impossible seem real – they’ll even learn to perform magic themselves.

The production’s booth, on display all four days at #3629 in the Exhibit Hall, will feature Tony Award winner Christine Jones’ set model for the Broadway production, along with an actual costume worn by Jamie Parker who created the role of Harry Potter in the original West End and Broadway productions.

The walls of the booth will be lined with exclusive content featured in the forthcoming book Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: The Journey which will be released by Scholastic in the US on November 5, 2019. There will also be a photo booth where fans can show their Hogwarts House pride by posing with Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin banners.

The Saturn Awards To Be Reinvigorated With 45th Annual Event On Friday The 13th Of September

The 45th annual Saturn Awards will take place on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the historic Avalon Theater in Hollywood, California. For the first time in its history, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror, the organization that founded and owns the Saturn Awards, has made a multi-year partnership deal with veteran television producer Justin W. Hochberg.

This new highly sought-after collaboration has immediately resulted in the upcoming, newly produced and reinvigorated Saturn Awards show. The traditionally non-televised Saturn Awards has always been a favorite event among the most groundbreaking creators. Carnage Rules in the Absolute Carnage Trailer!

Marvel Comics is about to unleash Absolute Carnage. This all-encompassing Venom event is poised to shake the symbiote world to its core. Get the latest on this story in an all-new trailer featuring Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski, Editor Devin Lewis, and writer Donny Cates!

“We’ve given a serial murderer a nuclear bomb, essentially, and Cletus is gonna try and kill every single character that has ever worn a symbiote,” teases Cates.

Series artist Ryan Stegman proclaims, “As a comic fan, this book has everything I’d ever want. The things I’ve drawn in this series are unlike anything I’ve gotten to draw before. I can’t wait for people to experience it!”

In the biggest Venom storyline yet, the Lethal Protector’s sinister spawn Carnage is on a mission to recover the codexes left behind inside every character that has ever bonded with a symbiote, so that he can summon the symbiote god Knull. Venom will have to team with friends and foes alike in order to prevent Carnage from succeeding in his deadly plot – all brought to you by the dynamite duo of Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman!

Comic Book Royalty Jim Starlin returns to San Diego Comic Con with an exclusive Panel celebrating Thanos’s “Best Years Ever” moderated by Comicbook.com’s Jim Viscardi

Comic Book Legend Jim Starlin, the creator of Marvel’s Thanos, The Infinity Gauntlet Saga, Drax The Destroyer, Gamora and more, returns to the San Diego Comic Con Spotlight in 2019 with a panel and signings celebrating Thanos’s “Best Years Ever”.

The panel titled Jim Starlin and the Infinity Gauntlet Saga will take place on Thursday July 18th 2019 from 10AM to 11AM in Room 7AB. It will be moderated by Comicbook.com’s Editor, Jim Viscardi, and will showcase the mind of the man who began it all as he discusses how his creations, Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet Saga, have become some of the biggest pop culture references of the 21st Century thanks to the 10 year, 22 movie Marvel Cinematic Universe and their conclusion, 2019’s Avengers : Endgame. Attendees can look forward to hearing what’s coming next including a look at the highly anticipated Dreadstar novels and the conclusion to the Thanos Graphic Novels.

“Thanos, Dreadstar and I are so pleased to be returning to the San Diego Comic-Con, the center the comic book universe.” Said Jim Starlin. “We will do our best to behave this trip. We promise there will be absolutely no finger snapping.”

First Look At Geralt And Cast Of Netflix’s “The Witcher”

As Netflix gears up for the release of its highly anticipated fantasy drama TV series, “The Witcher,” the streaming service has now release a series of cool new images showing its characters.

Here we got a first look at a badass Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill, Yennefer, played by Anya Cholatra, and Ciri played by Freya Allan.

Also released is the series’ first poster and the first look at the series logo.”The Worst Monsters Are The Ones We Create,” it says.

“The Witcher” is based on a book series by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.

Geralt is the titular Witcher in the short stories, novels and video games which takes place in medieval fantasy setting. He is one of the last witchers, a trained monster slayer for hire to slay deadly monstrous beasts.

Cavill recently played a CIA assassin in this summer’s blockbuster hit Mission: Impossible – Fallout starting Tom Cruise. He also portrayed Superman in WB/DC Comics’, Batman v Superman and Justice League.

“The Witcher” is expected to premiere this year on Netflix.

“Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.
