Alien: Romulus: Terrifying Extended Footage Revealed At Comic-Con 2024

Director and co-writer Fede Álvarez and the cast of “Alien: Romulus” showcased never-before-seen footage at Hall H during San Diego Comic-Con, featuring terrifying Facehuggers and a Chestburster.

The franchise’s original director, Ridley Scott, served as producer for this installment. Actors Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, and Spike Fearn joined the panel to discuss their experiences working on the upcoming 20th Century Studios film.

“While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe,” reads the synopsis.

“Alien: Romulus” is set between the events of “Alien” and its sequel “Aliens,” though Álvarez noted, “You really don’t need to have seen the other ones to understand or enjoy this film. If you have, it’s a treat. If you haven’t, then I’m jealous.”

Álvarez also answered video questions from surprise guests Ridley Scott and Guillermo Del Toro.

“Alien: Romulus” is set to open in theaters on August 16.

SDCC 2024: “In a Violent Nature” Sequel in Development

The sequel to the horror movie ‘In a Violent Nature 2’ has been announced at SDCC, during the The Bold Voice of Contemporary Horror panel. The original’s producer Peter Kuplowsky were in attendance for the announcement.

“In a Violent Nature demonstrated that there continues to be a yearning for new perspectives in the horror landscape. We knew immediately that this distinctive take on the slasher would enthrall fans and are glad to see the community embrace a new slasher icon in Johnny,” head of AMC Networks’ film group Scott Shooman said in a statement. “With the sequel, we aim to prove that Johnny can be bigger, meaner, and his kills can only get more impressive.”

Written and directed by Chris Nash, the 2024 Canadian slasher film was a surprise hit in 2024, after it premiered on January 22, 2024, at the Sundance Film Festival’s Midnight program.

“In a Violent Nature” is set to be released on the Shudder streaming service later in the year.

“The Bold Voice of Contemporary Horror” panel also had a lively discussion with David Dastmalchian (actor, Late Night with the Devil), Akela Cooper (writer, M3GAN franchise), and Angel Melanson (journalist, Fangoria) in attendance. The panel was moderated by Overlook Film Festival co-founder and director of film programming, Michael Lerman.

Nickelodeon brought fans down to Bikini Bottom and beyond to celebrate SpongeBob SquarePants’ landmark 25th anniversary during an exclusive panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego on Thursday, July 25, 2024.

Appearing in Hall H for the first time, iconic voices Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton), along with executive producers Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller, kicked off the four-day Comic-Con weekend with the Best. Panel. Ever. — “Celebrating 25 Years of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants.”

Moderated by Good Burger’s Ed (Kel Mitchell), the panel highlights include a surprise live appearance by legendary actor Mark Hamill (Star Wars) to announce his role as “The Flying Dutchman” in Paramount Pictures’ upcoming fourth theatrical film, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, an exclusive clip reveal of the upcoming movie, Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, available August 2 on Netflix, and a first look at the one-hour special SpongeBob SquarePants, “Kreepaway Kamp.”

The Art Directors Guild at 2024 San Diego Comic-Con

The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) returns to the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con to highlight the contributions of ADG artisans to the genre works celebrated at this annual fan conference.

The ADG’s programming includes a panel discussion with an audience Q&A titled “Video Games Go Hollywood: The Art Department,” a booth on the exhibit floor, three portfolio review sessions and two award presentations at the Masquerade Costume Competition.

Highlighting the growing impact of video game IP on the entertainment industry, the ADG is curating a panel called “Video Games Go Hollywood: The Art Department,” featuring panelists: Production Designer Howard Cummings (“Fallout”); Concept Illustrator Thang Le (“Fallout”); Production Designer Marc Fisichella (“Five Nights at Freddy’s”); Art Director Mark Terry (“Five Nights at Freddy’s”); and Production Designer Victoria Paul (“Twisted Metal”). AMC Networks Heads To San Diego With A Star-Studded Panel Lineup For Five Series At This Year’s Comic-Con Int’l

AMC Networks announced today its lineup of five star-studded series panels at this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego, CA, including the Walking Dead Universe series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol and The Walking Dead: Dead City; the Anne Rice Immortal Universe series Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire and Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches; and the final season of Snowpiercer.

Fans will get an exclusive first-look at trailers and teases from the highly anticipated second seasons of Dead City and Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol, which premieres on Sunday, September 29 on AMC and AMC+. Attendees will be treated to an advance screening of the second episode of Snowpiercer’s final season, followed by a panel with cast and executive producers.

WOW – Women Of Wrestling Takes the Stage at San Diego Comic-Con

For the very first time, WOW – Women Of Wrestling, the premier all-female sports entertainment property, will present a special panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. “WOW – Women Of Wrestling – Bringing WOW Superheroes To Life” on Friday, July 26 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in Room 6DE at the San Diego Convention Center.

Co-owners Jeanie Buss and David McLane will be in attendance, along with WOW Superheroes Coach Campanelli and Genesis, as they discuss the importance of the rise of female representation in professional sports, the influence of comics on pro wrestling and a preview of season three of WOW – Women Of Wrestling.

SDCC 2024: “The Man in the White Van” Theatrical Release x Comic-Con Panel

It was announced today that Relativity Media has acquired Warren Skeels’ thriller The Man in the White Van for a wide theatrical release on October 11 from Garrison Film and the fan-owned entertainment company, Legion M.

Starring Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Stranger Things), Ali Larter (ABC’s The Rookie, Final Destination), Madison Wolfe (The Conjuring 2) Brec Bassinger (CW’s Stargirl), Gavin Warren (Night Swim) and Skai Jackson (Jessie), The Man in the White Van delves into the harrowing experiences of Annie Williams (Wolfe), a spirited family girl, whose carefree existence is turned upside down as she finds herself stalked by an ominous man in a white van.
