Saladin Ahmed & Megan Levens Team Up For Astrologically Superpowered New Series “Starsigns”

Eisner Award winning writer Saladin Ahmed (Miles Morales, TerrorWar), superstar artist Megan Levens (Star Trek, Madame Frankenstein), and colorist Kelly Fitzpatrick team for the forthcoming Starsigns. This exciting new series about astrology, superpowers, and diverse found family—in the tradition of X-Men and Heroes—is set to launch in May from Image Comics.

“Since ancient times, the western zodiac’s strange iconography has been a rich wellspring for tale-telling. Starsigns draws from that ancient wellspring to tell a very modern story of superhuman ‘found family.’ Starsigns is a ‘real world’ superhero story that refuses to succumb to cynicism. An insistence that no matter how bleak things are, the universe still holds love and solidarity, kindness and hope,” said Ahmed. “Megan’s striking designs and bright, clean lines have leveled up the story at every turn, and I can’t wait for readers to experience this new world we’ve built.”

In Starsigns, the constellations of the zodiac fall to earth, granting twelve ordinary people from very different walks of life the superhuman powers of the Starsigns. But each of them is about to learn that power always comes with a price.

Levens added: “Working on Starsigns has been an artist’s dream, with its balance of classic superpowered action and deeply relatable human heart. I’ve fallen in love with this wonderful cast of unlikely heroes and villains that Saladin, Kelly, and I have built together, and I can’t wait for readers to meet them.”

247 Comics Announces The Launch Of Sean Chen’s New Original Comics Series “Genesis”

247 Comics Launch Sean Chen's New Original Comics GenesisCelebrated Marvel and DC Artist to Lead the First Releases From New Publisher and Content Studio in 2023.

Returning to his roots of pioneering the first releases of a publisher that promises to change the landscape of comics publishing just as he did nearly 30 years earlier at Valiant, 247 announces Sean Chen’s GENESIS, his brand new original series. 247 Comics is a new content studio where both top creators and new voices in sequential storytelling will harness the power of emerging technology for an unparalleled reading and collecting experience.

Sean Chen says “At its heart, Genesis is about two people—a scientist father and his teenage daughter—who are driven apart by contrasting ideology and then forced together by incredible circumstances. I was really inspired by the story of Steve Jobs and his troubled relationship with his daughter, which was complicated and nuanced, and goes so much deeper than, ‘You were never there!’ This relationship is the story engine that plays out against a series of events where you wonder if the gulf between them will ever be closed and what will be the fate of the father’s soul.”

GENESIS tells the story of overlooked innovator Lucas Zhang who has worked his entire life to push humanity beyond the bounds of physical limitations with his incredible developments in BCI technology, but his quest for success has come at a cost. Now in a desperate attempt to save his own humanity—and the life of his only child–Zhang unleashes a powerful new technology that is too dangerous to be trusted. Now Zhang is selling out and cashing in, and his patented masterworks are serving only two purposes—destruction and desire.

Ryan Ottley Unleashes Titan In The Mind-Blowing Finale To “Hulk Planet”

Ryan Ottley Unleashes Titan In The Mind-Blowing Finale To Hulk PlanetIn the pages of Donny Cates and Ryan Ottley’s action-packed run of HULK, Bruce Banner has jetted off to the far reaches of space and found a new home for himself—an entire planet of Hulk-like creatures thriving under the heat of a gamma star.

“It’s been so much fun to finally tackle working on the HULK. And being able to write the last four issues of this arc and bring some story elements to fruition was such a challenge but I’ve enjoyed it the whole way,” Ottley said. “Drawing comics is what I’m used to, writing is a whole different animal, but doing both jobs was great and makes me want to do it more often! Feels sad to wrap up the arc and move on, but it’s definitely one of my favorite comic experiences. Hulk will always be one of my favorite Marvel heroes. And now with Titan added to the rogues gallery, hopefully we’ll see him again someday in all his fury and glory!”

On this Hulk Planet, Bruce is worshipped and enjoying a peace he’s never known…but where the Hulk goes, destruction follows. TITAN, the deadliest Hulk in Marvel Comics history, refuses to be suppressed any longer, and Bruce is about to pay a terrible price for believing he was ever in control.

Written and drawn by Ottley, the breathtaking finale to this dramatic new HULK saga will be told this April in HULK #14, and fans can expect surprise revelations and shocking twists that will smash open the way to what’s next for the character.

Titan is now in control, and his endless rage may destroy Hulk Planet. Within the remaining fragments of the Mind Palace, Bruce Banner must reckon with the harm he has inflicted on the Hulk if either of them are to have any chance of regaining control and saving the planet. But Bruce knows better than anyone that once a part of the Hulk has unlocked itself, there’s no closing that door ever again…

Love & War Collide In New Series “Dead Romans” Launching In March 2023

Love & War Collide In New Series Dead Romans Launching In March 2023Up-and-coming writer Fred Kennedy and artist Nick Marinkovich team up for an all-new historical fiction adventure in the upcoming Dead Romans. This six issue miniseries is set to launch in March 2023 from Image Comics.

In Dead Romans, lush, beautiful illustrations bring to life a brutal tale of love and war from the birth of the Roman Empire. the Empire that butchers his people. He wants to make a queen of the woman he loves, Honoria, a fellow slave. Now, fifty thousand Romans will die to give her a throne she never asked for…or wanted.

“I was nervous about this book, because at its core it really is a love story. With the wrong artist that aspect could get lost amid the mud and violence,” said Kennedy. “But Nick really understood the tone, and he brought that emotion to life. It’s a brutal story, told with some of the most beautiful panels I’ve ever seen. I am VERY proud (and lucky) to have been part of this team.”

Marinkovich added: “This isn’t a history lesson. It’s therapy—the kind that reminded me why I was a fan before I ever picked up a brush—and Fred’s a time traveler. He’s taking us back to a moment in time, and immersing us in the raw battle scars that went with it. It’s a trip to be on board, and I’m just trying to keep up…”
