WOW – Women Of Wrestling Takes the Stage at San Diego Comic-Con

women-of-wrestlngFor the very first time, WOW – Women Of Wrestling, the premier all-female sports entertainment property, will present a special panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. “WOW – Women Of Wrestling – Bringing WOW Superheroes To Life” on Friday, July 26 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in Room 6DE at the San Diego Convention Center.

Co-owners Jeanie Buss and David McLane will be in attendance, along with WOW Superheroes Coach Campanelli and Genesis, as they discuss the importance of the rise of female representation in professional sports, the influence of comics on pro wrestling and a preview of season three of WOW – Women Of Wrestling.

Ahead of the panel, David McLane, Coach Campanelli and Genesis will participate in an autograph signing session from 12:30 PM to 1:15 PM in the San Diego Convention Center Room 33C where fans will get an exclusive limited edition WOW poster as part of the signing.

SDCC 2024: “The Man in the White Van” Theatrical Release x Comic-Con Panel

the-man-in-the-white-vanIt was announced today that Relativity Media has acquired Warren Skeels’ thriller The Man in the White Van for a wide theatrical release on October 11 from Garrison Film and the fan-owned entertainment company, Legion M. 

Starring Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Stranger Things), Ali Larter (ABC’s The Rookie, Final Destination), Madison Wolfe (The Conjuring 2) Brec Bassinger (CW’s Stargirl), Gavin Warren (Night Swim) and Skai Jackson (Jessie), The Man in the White Van delves into the harrowing experiences of Annie Williams (Wolfe), a spirited family girl, whose carefree existence is turned upside down as she finds herself stalked by an ominous man in a white van. Prone to exaggeration, her parent’s disbelief in her tales of being followed, lead to a terrifying Halloween nightmare.

Apple-Hit-Drama-SiloApple TV+ today announced that “Silo,” its globally acclaimed and hit world-building drama based on Hugh Howey’s New York Times bestselling trilogy, will make its San Diego Comic-Con debut on Saturday July 27, 2024 for a panel and conversation around what fans can look forward to in the highly anticipated second season of “Silo” featuring star and executive producer Rebecca Ferguson, star Common, creator and showrunner Graham Yost and executive producer Hugh Howey, plus surprise special guests. The panel will be moderated by Adam Savage (Editor-in-Chief, Tested.com).

SDCC 2024: Nickelodeon Commemorates 25 Years of Spongebob Squarepants With Larger-Than-Life Tribute To Original Pilot Episode At Comic-Con International: San Diego 2024

spongebob25yearsNickelodeon is commemorating 25 years of SpongeBob SquarePants with an immersive larger-than-life tribute to the original pilot episode, that sparked the global pop culture phenomenon, at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2024. Its 1,800 square-foot booth (#4113) on the convention center floor will re-create and transport fans into the “Help Wanted” episode with 3D-animation, augmented reality (AR) and replicas of SpongeBob’s pineapple home, The Krusty Krab and the Barg’N-Mart.

Every day of the convention, Nickelodeon’s booth will feature: a slow-motion video opportunity inside SpongeBob’s 20-foot-tall pineapple home, where attendees will virtually pump weights to prepare for the big job interview; a photo opportunity on The Krusty Krab Mast; an interactive game inside The Krusty Krab, where fans can virtually feed hungry anchovies in a race against the clock; a Barg’N-Mart retail area, where attendees can purchase a variety of exclusive Nick gear and one-of-a-kind collectibles; costumed character appearances; and autograph signings with the cast and producers of SpongeBob SquarePants, and hosts of Avatar: Braving the Elements podcast.

Nickelodeon will present two panels during the convention: “Celebrating 25 Years of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants,” a panel that will take fans down to Bikini Bottom and beyond; and “Avatar: Braving the Elements – Live! with Janet Varney & Dante Basco,” where attendees will jump into the Avatarverse.

Image Comics Titles Honored With 25 Eisner Award Nominations This Year

eisner-awardsThis year, the Eisner Award committee honors Image Comics talent with 25 total Eisner nominations—17 nominations and 8 shared nominations—making Image Comics the publisher with the most nominations for 2024.

Image weighed in with the most nominations in both the “Best New Series” and “Best Writer/Artist” categories out of all the publishers nominated and Kelly Thompson was the creator who snagged the most nominations this year to her name, with five total.

Charles Ardai: the Edgar Award–winning creator of the bestselling Gun Honey comics and co-creator of Hard Case Crime

Rodney Barnes: an award-winning writer, producer, and comic book creator, most recently an executive producer and writer for HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, chronicling the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Showtime Lakers.

Daniel Clowes: an acclaimed American cartoonist, illustrator, and screenwriter who gained fame with his comic book series Eightball, which was notable for its dark humor and commentary on modern culture.

WonderCon ’24: Star Trek Panels Announced

“The Star Trek Universe Beams into WonderCon 2024”, startrek.com announced.

The Star Trek universe is set to appear later this month at WonderCon 2024 at the Anaheim Convention Center at Anaheim, California.

First up is the Star Trek: Strange New World’s musical episode sing-along on Friday, March 29, at 8:00 – 9:00 PM called “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds — “Subspace Rhapsody” Sing-Along”. This is set to take place at Room North 200A.

“CBS Studios and Paramount+ invite you to join them for the first ever Star Trek sing-along screening of the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds musical episode, “Subspace Rhapsody”” says the announcement, “followed by a moderated Q&A with songwriters Tom Polce and Kay Hanley, also of Letters to Cleo fame, where they will discuss writing the songs for Star Trek’s first ever musical episode. Moderated by Scott Manz.”

Then on March 30, Saturday at 3:30 – 5:00 PM , is set to feature Star Trek: Discovery’s fifth season premiere screening, set to take place at Room North 200A. “Be one of the first to see the premiere episode of the final season of Star Trek: Discovery followed by a moderated Q&A with Michelle Paradise(EP/Showrunner) and Olatunde Osunsanmi(EP/Director) where they will discuss working on the exciting final season and tease what’s to come. Moderated by Scott Manz.”
