Offset Announces First Solo Headline Run Set It Off Tour Starts This March

offset-tourToday, Offset, the Grammy-nominated and highly acclaimed songwriter, recognized as one-third of the multi-platinum rap trio Migos, steps into the spotlight with the revelation of his first ever solo headline run, “Set It Off Tour”.

Produced by Live Nation, the 17-city tour is a declaration of Offset’s solo artistry and celebrates his album of the same name which was released in October 2023 to rave reviews with guest features from Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Future, Cardi B, Latto, and other notable collaborators. The SET IT OFF TOUR kicks off on March 10th at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, PA making stops across the U.S. in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and more before wrapping up in his hometown of Atlanta at Coca-Coca Roxy on April 10th.

Indie Rock Titans Pixies And Modest Mouse Encore Wildly Successful Co-Headline Tour With Summer 2024 Dates

Indie-Rock-Titans-PixiesToday, indie rock titans Pixies and Modest Mouse announced their 2024 co-headline tour across North America with special guest Cat Power joining on all upcoming dates. Produced by Live Nation, the 23-date run kicks off on Friday, May 31 in Charleston, SC at Firefly Distillery, with stops in Charlotte, Nashville, Toronto, Queens, Chicago, Austin and more before wrapping up on Sunday, June 30 in Denver, CO at Fiddler’s Green.

The 2024 tour follows the highly successful sold-out 2023 run featuring all three acts, which concluded in San Diego this past September. The 2023 tour included an epic Hollywood Bowl performance in Los Angeles and multiple nights at Pier 17 in New York, along with stops in Napa, Bridgeport, Vail, Seattle and more.

Sloan Foundation & Sundance Institute Announce Feature Film Prize & Grant Recipients

Sloan-Foundation-and-SundanceToday at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, the nonprofit Sundance Institute and Alfred P. Sloan Foundation’s joint Science-In-Film Initiative honored Love Me, from filmmaker duo Sam and Andy Zuchero, with this year’s juried Feature Film Prize.

Also announced today were the recipients of three artist grants aimed at supporting projects currently in development: Emily Everhard received the Sloan Episodic Fellowship for Tektite, Sara Crow and Daniel Rafailedes received the Sloan Development Fellowship for Satoshi, and Lizzi Oyebode received the Sloan Commissioning Grant for Inverses.

The filmmakers received a total of $84,000 in cash awards and were celebrated today at a reception hosted by the Foundation in Park City. Prior to the reception, the Feature Film Prize winners participated in a Sloan Foundation–sponsored Beyond Film event, The Big Conversation: Screen of Consciousness, where they discussed cinema’s portrayal of artificial intelligence.

The biographical drama written and directed by Chiwetel Ejiofor premiered today Monday, January 22nd, at Sundance.

The film follows Robert Peace, who grew up in an impoverished section of Newark and later graduated from Yale with degrees in molecular biophysics and biochemistry while on scholarship. Peace led a dual life in academia and research while also earning six figures selling marijuana.

“Rob Peace” is based on Jeff Hobbs biography The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace by Jeff Hobbs.

The film stars Jay Will, Mary J. Blige, Camila Cabello, Michael Kelly and Mare Winningham.

Sundance 2024: “ Hit Man” Premieres At Sundance

Director Richard Linklater and actor Glen Powell were at the Sundance Film Festival today, Monday, for the premiere of their film ‘Hitman,’ an upcoming action comedy which they co-wrote.

Following the success of his recent romantic comedy ‘Anyone but You,’ which grossed over $100 million worldwide, Glen Powell is once again in the spotlight with ‘Hit Man.’

The action comedy has been gaining considerable buzz since its North American premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival last September, where it played to strong reviews.

“Sebastian” Premieres At Sundance 2024

sebastianWritten and directed by Mikko Mäkelä (A Moment in the Reeds), the queer drama had its world premiere at Sundance Film Festival 2024 on January 21, 2023 at 6:30PM at The Library Center Theater, Park City, under the World Cinema Dramatic Competition on Sunday.

“Sebastian” stars Ruaridh Mollica (“Too Rough”) as Max, a 25-year-old aspiring writer living in London, who begins a double life as a sex worker in order to research his debut novel.

Also in the film are Jonathan Hyde (Titanic), Hiftu Quasem (“The Witcher”), Ingvar Eggert Sigurðsson (The Northman), Leanne Best (Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens), and Lara Rossi (“I May Destroy You”)

Produced by James Watson with executive producers Mike Goodridge (Triangle of Sadness) and Lizzie Francke (Aftersun).

Ahead of the premiere, LevelK has announced it has acquired the international rights to the film.

Sundance 2024: DIG! XX’ by Ondi Timoner Returns to Sundance 20 Years Later

DIG-XXDIG! XX is the 20th anniversary expanded, remastered and reimagined edition of the rock doc DIG!, which looks at the collision of art and commerce through the eyes of two dueling rock bands — The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre — now over 27 years on, which adds new narration by The Brian Jonestown Massacre’s Joel Gion and features 40+ minutes of never-before-seen footage.

“Twenty years ago, we had 2,500 hours of footage and a five-hour cut, so a lot of really great stuff hit the cutting room floor,” said DIG! XX director and producer Ondi Timoner.“A lot of those tapes are over a quarter century old — so if we wanted to share more of this crazy story, it was now or never…” says Ondi Timoner

Shot over seven years, DIG! (2004) won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2004 Sundance FIlm Festival. It intimately explores the star-crossed friendship and bitter rivalry between Anton Newcombe, leader of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Courtney Taylor, leader of The Dandy Warhols.

Comedy Drama “Winner” Premieres At Sundance 2024

emilia jonesThe black comedy drama “Winner” premiered today at Sundance Film Festival. The film stars Emilia Jones as Reality Winner, a U.S. Air Force veteran and former NSA translator that is the subject of the film.

The unconventional whistleblower’s biopic is directed by Susanna Fogel (The Spy Who Dumped Me) from a script by Kerry Howley.

Also in the film are Kathryn Newton, Averie Peters, Connie Britton, Zach Galifianakis, Danny Ramirez and Shannon Berry.

Sundance 2024: “Handling The Undead” World Premiere

Directed by Thea Hvistendahl, “Handling The Undead” held its world premiere today January 20 at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.

In the film, on a hot summer day in Oslo, the newly dead awaken. Three families faced with loss try to figure out what this resurrection means and if their loved ones really are back. The film is based on the book of the same name by John Ajvide Lindqvist.

The Norwegian horror mystery stars Renate Reinsve, Bjørn Sundquist, Bente Børsum, Anders Danielsen Lie, Bahar Pars, Inesa Dauksta, Kian Hansen and Olga Damani.

Written by Thea Hvistendahl John Ajvide Lindqvist, the film is part of the Sundance World Cinema Dramatic Competition section.
