Transformers Superstar Daniel Warren Johnson Teams With High-Flyer Riley Rossmo For “The Moon Is Following Us”

The-Moon-Is-Following-UsHot off the 2023 Eisner Award winning Do a Powerbomb and skyrocketing to fame with his fresh spin on the Eisner Award nominated Transformers comic book series, Daniel Warren Johnson teams with dynamo artist Riley Rossmo for an all-new, heart-wrenching tale in the upcoming, The Moon is Following Us. This ten issue miniseries was announced in an exclusive scoop at IGN, sees Rossmo’s return to Image Comics, and is set to launch in September.

Sam and Duncan LaMarr love their six-year-old daughter, Penny, more than anything in the whole world. But half a year ago, she was taken by the Cascade, an evil force they barely understand. Now, Sam and Duncan must fight side by side with the magical beings Penny cherished to try and get her back…before she’s gone forever.

“Not only is Riley an amazing person, but his linemaking and design sensibilities are some of the best I’ve ever seen. He is the perfect co-creator and artist to tackle such a huge and expansive world that we’ve made in The Moon is Following Us,” said Johnson. “Riley takes my scripts farther than I could have ever imagined, building on top of something I wrote and expanding it into something more wonderful, creepy, and wild than I could have ever done on my own. Dayglow-The-TourProduced by Live Nation and kicking off in September, Dayglow: The Tour will see Struble perform in major venues across the US, Canada, and Mexico, including Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on September 22nd, New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom on October 11th, Toronto’s HISTORY on October 13th, Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium on November 17th, and more.

Not to mention, the Austin, TX native will wrap the tour with three very special back-to-back hometown shows in various venues across the city. Fans can see Struble perform at Parish—the first Austin venue he ever played in—on November 21st, followed by shows at Scoot Inn on November 22nd and finally Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater on November 23rd. Apple TV+ Debuts “Sunny” Trailer Starring Rashida Jones

sunny-appletvApple recently debuted the official trailer for its new mystery series “Sunny” which is created by Kate Robbins and stars Rashida Jones.

“Sunny” is scheduled to premiere on Apple TV+ on July 10 with its first two episodes, and then followed by one new episode every Wednesday up to September 4.

Also in the upcoming dark comedy are Hidetoshi Nishijima, Joanna Sotomura, Judy Ongg, YOU, annie the clumsy and Jun Kunimura.

“Sunny” follows American woman living in Kyoto, Japan, whose life is upended when her husband and son disappear in a mysterious plane crash. As “consolation” she’s given Sunny, one of a new class of domestic robots made by her husband’s electronics company. Though at first, Suzie resents Sunny’s attempts to fill the void in her life, gradually they develop an unexpected friendship. Together they uncover the dark truth of what really happened to Suzie’s family and become dangerously enmeshed in a world Suzie never knew existed.

Suspense Thriller “Somnium” World Premiere At 2024 Chattanooga Film Festival

somniumWritten and directed by Racheal Cain, “Somnium” stars Chloë Levine (The OA), Will Peltz (Euphoria), Peter Vack (Someone Great), Johnathon Schaech (Ray Donovan), Clarissa Thibeaux (Runaways), and Grace Van Dien (Stranger Things).

“Somnium” follows small-town Gemma, who after a painful breakup, moves to Los Angeles with the hopes of making it big. To get on her feet, she takes a job working the overnight shift at Somnium – a mysterious, experimental sleep clinic where dreams are made real.

Meanwhile, Gemma throws herself into the cutthroat world of Hollywood auditions. But as the pressure to succeed mounts, she begins to experience strange and unsettling phenomena, and soon finds herself trapped in a nightmarish spiral as she discovers a darkness lurking within the clinic walls.

“With its gripping storyline and striking cinematography, SOMNIUM drags audiences through the horrifying consequences of tampering with the fabric of reality,” says the film’s synopsis.

Ignite Films Drops Reconstructed Long Lost Rrailer Dor 1945 WWII Classic “The Story Of GI Joe”

Today, Ignite Films, which released the 2023 critically acclaimed, multi-award-winning* 4K restoration of the 1953 sci-fi classic INVADERS FROM MARS, dropped the reconstructed 1945 trailer and the new poster for its next release, the 1945 WWII classic THE STORY OF G.I. JOE.

The long-lost trailer, which has never been online before, in any condition, has been meticulously reconstructed by Ignite Films using the severely damaged 1945 original nitrate trailer provided by the Library of Congress.

The Ignite Films 2024 enhanced restoration of Director William A. Wellman’s 1945 classic WWII war film, THE STORY OF G.I. JOE starring Robert Mitchum and Burgess Meredith, will be released on HD Blu-ray and DVD on July 25, 2024. The 2024 enhanced restoration, spearheaded by film restoration supervisor Greg Kimble, also includes a full restoration of the audio by John Polito of Audio Mechanics.

The Good Asian Creator Pornsak Pichetshote Leads All-Star Creative Team For “The Horizon Experiment”

The-Horizon-ExperimentEisner and Harvey Award-winning The Good Asian and Infidel creator Pornsak Pichetshote is collaborating with an all-star creative team from across entertainment—including comics, literature, film and television—for The Horizon Experiment, a series of five one-shot comic books, all featuring original protagonists from marginalized backgrounds set in a popular genre and inspired by pop culture icons, where each character’s unique background allows the stories to go into new directions.

“I’m fascinated with taking popular genres, like horror and noir, and seeing what they’d look like from diverse perspectives—I explored this in my Image Comics books Infidel and The Good Asian. But, I’ve been limited to my own experiences.

So, for The Horizon Experiment, I decided to use the same mentality but open it up to other people, inviting some of the most talented people I know to work on it,” said Pichetshote. “Each one-shot is the equivalent of a pilot for a new creator-owned series, with the potential of continuing should there be demand for more. Each team of creators have had different approaches—all of them have knocked me out, and I couldn’t be more proud that the end result is five very unique books, all connected by the same ambitious spirit.”

Formed in 1993 at the world-renowned Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland, Apocalyptica began as a loving, lo-fi nod to Metallica from four classically trained musicians. Their debut album, Plays Metallica By Four Cellos, released in 1996, was a game-changer. As founding band leader Eicca Toppinen explains, “We just loved Metallica and we wanted to play it with the instruments we were able to play, which just happened to be cellos. We played a metal club in Helsinki, and then we were asked to do an album. Five months after it was released, we were opening for Metallica. It’s still unbelievable to me.”
