David Gray Announces “White Ladder: The 20th Anniversary Tour”

Multi-platinum and Grammy-nominated, British singer-songwriter David Gray has announced plans for a 2020 North American tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his seminal album, White Ladder. The “WHITE LADDER: THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR” produced by Live Nation will kick off on July 13th at Artpark Mainstage Theater in Lewiston, NY. The North American tour announcement follows on the heels of Gray’s upcoming UK, Ireland and EU tour. He recently added his third 3Arena show in Dublin and is on pace to sell out the tour in these countries overall. David will be performing the multi-Platinum album, White Ladder, in its entirety as well as greatest hits. This will be a once-in-lifetime tour that fans won’t want to miss.

In conjunction with the tour, David Gray has announced the February 14th release of the White Ladder: The 20thAnniversary deluxe edition (IHT Records/ AWAL), to celebrate the trailblazing album’s 20-year anniversary. The global multi-platinum selling album, and one of the greatest, most heart-warming word-of-mouth successes in music, will be released on 2xCD, 4xLP, and digital formats. This will include a special remastered edition of the iconic album plus White Ladder era previously unreleased rarities, B-sides and demos.

Says David Gray, “What happened with White Ladder involved more than music. It was a sort of heart and soul moment of total surrender for everybody involved, for me and the audience. That was it. It doesn’t get any better than that.”

Upon its 20th anniversary, it’s interesting to consider the extraordinary aftermath of White Ladder. Its success spawned a new wave of singer-songwriters in an acoustic boom that resonates to this day, a soul-baring lineage that can be directly traced from David Gray to the all-conquering Ed Sheeran. Indeed, Ed is a fan, known to cover ‘This Year’s Love’ live. Final Trailer To “Jumanji: The Next Level” Showcases More Action

Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Morgan Turner, Maidson Iseman and Nick Jonas are back in the fantasy adventure comedy sequel directed by Jake Kasdan, with Sony Pictures Entertainment releasing the film’s final trailer on Thursday.

Joining the fun and action this time around are Danny Glover, Danny DeVito and Awkwafina.

The new installment sees teen Spencer missing, prompting his friends to jump back into Jumanji game. But their return to the video game creates confusion when they realize that things are not the same and they’re in new bodies.

The trailer also shows the film expanding from the jungle setting seen in the 2017 film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, this time putting the cast in various locations, from mountains to deserts. as well as a few exciting car chases and hilarious body-swaps.

A synopsis of the new film reads: “In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.”

The film is set for release in theaters on December 13, 2019.

The Trailer for ‘The Grudge’ Reboot Released

Sony Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming reboot of “The Grudge,” a supernatural horror film written and directed by Nicolas Pesce

The Grudge is a reboot of the 2004 film of the same name featuring Sarah Michelle Gellar and is based on the Japanese horror franchise Ju-On which was created by Takashi Shimizu.

Following the 2004 original and the 2006 and 2009 sequels, this is the fourth installment the the “Grudge” franchise.

Sam Raimi, the creator of the horror classics series “Evil Dead”, serve as the film’s producers, along with Rob Tapert and Taka Ichises.

The film stars Andrea Riseborough, Betty Gilpin and John Cho, the film is set for release on January 3, 2020.

‘Joker’ Becomes Highest-Grossing R-Rated Movie Ever

Warner Bros’. psychological thriller “Joker” is now the highest-grossing R-rated film ever at the global boxoffice.

As of Thursday, the surprise boxoffice phenomenon has earned $788.1 million, beating Deadpool and its sequel 2018 Deadpool 2 which grossed $782 million and $785 million respectively. Joker recently set the record for the biggest October opener of all time domestically, internationally and worldwide.

The announcement was made today by Toby Emmerich, Chairman, Warner Bros. Pictures Group. “Todd Phillips’s bold, creative vision is evident in every frame of ‘Joker,’ matched only by Joaquin Phoenix’s incomparable interpretation of this iconic character. What they and everyone who worked on this film created has clearly resonated with audiences worldwide. We congratulate them and our colleagues at DC on reaching this extraordinary benchmark, and I personally want to congratulate the entire Warner Bros. team on the roll-out of this film.”

Directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix in the title role, Joker won the Golden Lion at the 76th Venice International Film Festival where the film premiered last month.

Robert E. Howard’s Dark Agnes Sharpens Her Sword For New Solo Series

Announced today at MCM Comic Con London, Robert E. Howard’s swashbuckling heroine, Dark Agnes, will helm her very first comic series. Dark Agnes will be making her Marvel Comics debut this December in CONAN: SERPENT WAR, introducing this beloved swordswoman to a new generation of readers, before taking off on her own adventures in February’s DARK AGNES #1.

The five-issue limited series will depict the journey of Agnes de Chastillon as she frees herself from an arranged marriage to live the dangerous life of a sellsword in 16th-century France. Joined by Etienne Villers, the mercenary pair’s daring exploits will be penned by writer Becky Cloonan(THE PUNISHER) with art by Luca Pizzari(WEAPON X, BLACK KNIGHT).

‘Farewell,’ ‘Marriage Story,’ ‘Uncut Gems’ Lead Gotham Awards Nominations

2019 Gotham Independent Film Awards kicks off the awards season, with the Independent Filmmakers Project announcing the nominations on Thursday morning.

Leading the nominations “Marriage Story,” “The Farewell,” “Uncut Gems” and “The Last Black Man in San Francisco” with three nods each. Marriage Story, The Farewell and Uncut Gems all received best feature noms along with Hustlers and Waves.

Distributor A24 also scored big. In addition best feature nominees “The Farewell,” “Uncut Gems” and “Waves”, all of which are distributed by A24, the company’s other films “The Lighthouse,” “Midsommar” and “The Last Black Man in San Francisco” also received nominations in other categories.

The IFP Gotham Awards are selected by distinguished juries and presented in New York City, and “honors the filmmaking community, expands the audience for independent films, and supports the work that IFP does behind the scenes throughout the year to bring such films to fruition.”

This year’s awards will be announced on Dec. 2 in New York, with the winners determined by online voting of IFP members.

Louis Tomlinson Releases New Single “We Made It” And Announces First Ever Solo World Tour

Louis Tomlinson dropped his newest single, “We Made It” viaSyco/Arista Records today. Get it here! Louis premiered the single with a performance at a SiriusXM fan event this morning. This is the third track off his highly anticipated debut solo album, WALLS, which was announced yesterday with a personal video from Louis on his socials. WALLS will be available on January 31st, 2020 but is available for pre-order now.

Louis will also be embarking on his first ever solo world tour in 2020. Louis’ 43-date tour kicks off on March 9th in Barcelona, Spain and hits cities all across the world including Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Dubai, Jakarta, Sydney, Tokyo and Rio De Janeiro, among others before hitting North America. The North American leg of the tour, presented by Live Nation, begins on June 9th in Minneapolis and will hit cities like Chicago, Toronto, Nashville, New York, and Los Angeles.

Today, Louis also debuted the music video for “We Made It” in conjunction with the single. The week leading up to “We Made It,” Louis began teasing the new music on his socials. On Sunday, he teased the single’s audio, followed by a teaser trailer of the “We Made It” music video on Tuesday. To heighten the anticipation, Louis also shared a digital scavenger hunt yesterday morning for fans to reveal the album art.

Harry Shum Jr., Chris Sullivan and Kelley Mack to Star in Jacob Gentry’s BROADCAST SIGNAL INTRUSION

Queensbury Pictures, the year-old Chicago- and London-based production company today announced the start of shooting in Chicago on BROADCAST SIGNAL INTRUSION, a sci-fi horror film directed by Jacob Gentry.

The cast includes Harry Shum Jr. (Crazy Rich Asians, Glee), Kelley Mack (The Walking Dead) and Chris Sullivan (This Is Us, I Trapped the Devil).

BROADCAST SIGNAL INTRUSION, a technological thriller inspired by actual broadcast interruptions that occurred in the Windy City in the late 1980s, and remain unsolved to this day. The film an unsettling journey into our collective technological nightmares, confronting our deepest, darkest fears of both man and machine.

Shum has been cast in the lead role as James. While logging tapes of decades-old TV broadcasts,video archivist James (Harry Shum Jr.) comes across a surreal and disturbing clip of what appears to be an imprisoned android. James believes it’s the product of a mysterious broadcast signal hacking, and his discovery takes a sinister turn when he tracks down similar broadcast intrusions that send him on an obsessive mission. Now James must confront two very real possibilities: that the videos may be clues to a crime beyond all comprehension; and that whoever was behind them may be very aware that James is coming uncomfortably close to the truth.
