“Asterix & Obelix: The Big Fight” Trailer Released

Netflix has unveiled a new trailer and poster for the upcoming animated serial “Asterix & Obelix”.

The synopsis says: when their druid forgets how to prepare the magic potion, Asterix and Obelix must defend the Gauls as Caesar plots to use an ancient law against them.

“Asterix & Obelix: The Big Fight” stars Alain Chabat, Gilles Lellouche, Anaïs Demoustier, Alain Chabat, Gilles Lellouche, and Anaïs Demoustier.

The animated series is set to debut on Netflix in April 30, 2025.

Claude Lelouch’s “A Man And A Woman” New Restoration

a-man-and-a-womanClaude Lelouch’s arthouse classic A MAN AND A WOMAN (1966), starring Jean-Louis Trintignant and Anouk Aimée, will run at Film Forum from Friday, April 4 to Thursday, April 17, in a new restoration supervised by the director. Mr. Lelouch will appear in person at screenings on opening weekend, as well as at a special screening of his latest film, the comedy-drama FINALEMENT, on Thursday, April 3.

In A MAN AND A WOMAN, race car driver Jean-Louis Trintignant and “la scripte-girl” Anouk Aimée meet at their kids’ boarding school, and then the flashbacks and Francis Lai’s can’t-get-it-out-of-your-head main love theme begin, in the undeniably romantic international smash hit – winner of the Cannes Film Festival’s Palme d’Or, two Academy Awards® (Best Foreign Film and Best Original Screenplay), and two nominations (Best Director and Best Actress).

Lelouch’s LA BONNE ANNÉE, CAT AND MOUSE, LES UNS ET LES AUTRES, AND NOW MY LOVE, and LES MISÉRABLES will also be shown during the run of A MAN AND A WOMAN.

François Ozon’s Thriller “When Fall Is Coming”

when-fall-is-comingFrançois Ozon’s “When Fall Is Coming is set for US theatrical premiere release by Film Forum on Friday, April 4.

Acclaimed French stage actress Hélène Vincent is Michelle, a kindly grandmother who nurtures her garden in a quiet Burgundy village, attends church, and sees her longtime friend, Marie-Claude. But don’t be fooled by the apparent tranquility – WHEN FALL IS COMING is another twisty drama from François Ozon, with a disdainful daughter (Ludivine Sagnier of Ozon’s SWIMMING POOL), wild poisonous mushrooms, and a son who’s recently out of prison stacking up against Michelle’s peaceful retirement.

The film will be featured in the upcoming Rendez-Vous with French Cinema festival, screening at Walter Reade Theater on Friday, March 7, 3:30 PM and Sunday, March 16, 5:45 PM. A limited number of press tickets are available to this screening.

WHEN FALL IS COMING had its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival and went on to screen at the San Sebastian International Film Festival where it was awarded the Jury Prize for Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Performance (Pierre Lottin). Hélène Vincent was nominated for the 2025 César Award for Best Actress for her role.

Official Trailer 2 for “The Woman In The Yard”

Universal has release a second trailer for its upcojming horror movie “The Woman in the Yard”, set for release later in March.

From Blumhouse, the most successful global brand in horror, the new original chiller stars BAFTA and SAG nominee Danielle Deadwyler (Till, The Harder They Fall, The Piano Lesson) as Ramona, a woman crippled by grief after she survives a car accident that takes her husband (Russell Hornsby; BMF, Fences).

Seriously injured, Ramona now must care for their 14-year-old son (Peyton Jackson; Respect, American Refugee) and 6-year-old-daughter (Estella Kahiha; Will Trent, BMF), alone in her rural farmhouse. Then one day the woman takes form in their yard.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, the film also stars Okwui Okpokwasili, Russell Hornsby, Peyton Jackson and Estella Kahiha.

“The Woman In The Yard” is set for release by Universal Pictures on March 28, 2025.

Frankie Muniz is “Renner” Latest Sci-Fi AI Thriller

rennerA computer genius invents an A.I life coach to help him find love, but realizes too late he accidentally programmed his manipulative mother into the code, in the new Frankie Muniz film “Renner”.

The trailer has been released for the upcoming a dark sci-fi thriller. It is directed by Robert Rippberger and written by Luke Medina and Martin Medina.

The official synopsis for Renner: “Renner, a reclusive computer genius driven by a need for control, designs an A.I. named Salenus to help him overcome his crippling social anxieties and find love. Encouraged by Salenus, Renner forms a connection with his alluring neighbor Jamie, but their relationship starts to unravel when she begins to interact with the A.I. As dark secrets and betrayals begin to surface, Salenus’s influence on Renner takes a malicious turn, leaving him entangled in the devastating consequences of his invention”

The film stars Frankie Muniz, Violett Beane, Taylor Gray, and Marcia Gay Harden.

Renner will be released on demand onMarch 28th.

“Anora” Dominates Oscars With 5 Academy Awards

anora“Anora” was the top movie at the 2025 Academy Awards, taking home five Oscars including best director for Sean Baker.

Sean Baker, who who also edited, wrote and co-produced “Anora”, in total won four Oscars at Sunday’s ceremony. He ties Walt Disney’s record for the most Academy Awards won by a single person in one year.

“Anora,” also previously won the Palme d’Or-winner at the Cannes Film Festival last year.

Adrien Brody (“The Brutalist”) and Mikey Madison (“Anora”) took the leading acting honors. Brody won previusly for “The Pianist”.

“I grew up in Los Angeles, but Hollywood always felt so far away from me. To be here, standing in this room today, is really incredible,” Madison said.
