NF Announces New Dates For The Search Tour

After the launch of his current sold out tour, chart-topping rapper NF announces the second North American leg of The Search Tour, produced by Live Nation. The Search Tour’s 28-date Spring 2020 run kicks off April 9 in Little Rock, AR and runs through major North American markets where the current tour will not visit – Chicago, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and more – wrapping May 18 in San Diego, CA.

To ensure tickets get in to the hands of fans and not scalpers or bots, the tour has partnered with Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan platform. Fans can register now through Sunday, September 22nd at 10pm PT HERE for the Verified Fan presale. Registered fans who receive a code will have access to purchase tickets before the general public on Tuesday September 24th at 10am local time through Thursday, September 26th 10pm local time.

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, September 27th at 10am local time at NFREALMUSIC.COM. See below for full itinerary.

Last month NF topped the Billboard charts with The Search, with another #1 album. Released on NF Real Music/Caroline, The Search sold 130,000 equivalent album units, and now boasts more than 120 million global streams to date.

The Search marks the rapper’s second consecutive album to land at number one on the Billboard Top 200, following 2017’s multi-platinum certified Perception. NF surprised the industry with Perception’s success, and he proved his place atop the music industry with The Search – selling more than double his previous chart-topping album.

Operating from outside of the system and against all odds, NF quietly and unassumingly ascended to the forefront of modern hip-hop on his own terms. Forbes noted “NF’s success speaks to what can be done these days outside of the traditional system.” For tickets and dates to NF – The Search Tour 2020, go to NFRealMusic.Com

Taika Waititi’s “Jojo Rabbit” Wins Top Prize At Toronto Film Festival

By Creative Media Times

The 44th Toronto International Film Festival has recently wrapped up, with writer-director-actor Taika Waititi’s black comedy “Jojo Rabbit” taking home the top prize, winning the festival’s Grolsch People’s Choice Award on Sunday.

Set during the Second World War, the movie follows a German boy who finds out that his mother is hiding a young Jewish girl in their attic. The movie is based on the book Caging Skies by Christine Leunens.

Jojo Rabbit triumphed over early awards favorites such A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood featuring Tom Hanks and Todd Phillips’ Joaquin Phoenix-starrer Joker among others. Noah Baumbach’s comedy-drama Marriage Story took second place, while Bong Joon-ho’s comedy thriller Parasite won third place.

Other winners at TIFF 2019 awards include The Twentieth Century for Best Canadian First Feature Film, Antigone for Best Canadian Feature Film, and The Platform for People’s Choice Midnight Madness award.

The award has historically been a strong harbinger for awards season success, leading up to the Academy Awards. As recently as last year People’s Choice winner “Green Book” went on to win Academy Award for Best Picture. Six years prior, 12 Years a Slave also won the People’s Choice Award before it eventually won the Oscar best picture.

Starring the film’s writer-director Taika Waititi, “Jojo Rabbit” also stars Scarlett Johansson, Roman Griffin Davis, Thomasin McKenzie, Rebel Wilson, Stephen Merchant, Alfie Allen, and Sam Rockwell. The film is set for limited release on October 18, 2019.

Diminuendo, The Final Film From Sci-Fi Legend Richard Hatch, Comes To Amazon Prime

Diminuendo, the darkly-compelling sci-fi romance starring the late Richard Hatch in his final film performance, has made its official U.S. debut on Amazon Prime.

Diminuendo, helmed by first-time director Adrian Stewart, pairs Hatch with stars Chloe Dykstra (Drag Me To Hell , Truly Outrageous), Leah Cairns (Travelers, Interstellar), Gigi Edgley (Farscape) and Walter Koenig (Star Trek).

The Golden Globe-nominated actor, who gained worldwide fame as the star of the cult sci-fi television series Battlestar Galactica, had just completed filming the drama when he passed away in 2017.

Hatch plays Haskell Edwards, a has-been director whose life has crumbled in the decade since his Hollywood starlet girlfriend Cello Shea (Dykstra) committed suicide. When Edwards is offered the chance to direct the story of her life using a robot replica, he becomes tragically obsessed with Shea’s A.I. double.

Screenwriters Sarah Goldberger and Bryn Pryor created the role of Edwards specifically for Hatch, who was heavily involved in crafting the story and character. Director Stewart managed to finish a rough cut of the film for the actor to see before his death, and a memorial screening of that rough cut was held February 2017 in Hatch’s honor.

Distributed in the US by MyProduction and Lotus Entertainment, Diminuendo is available on Amazon Prime in the US and UK, with iTunes, FandangoNow and other VOD releases in the next few weeks, as well as a region-free DVD & Blu-ray release. Similar releases are set to follow in all other English and non-English speaking countries. View the official trailer on Vimeo.com.

Dan Torrance Returns To Overlook Hotel In Creepy Final Trailer To “Doctor Sleep”

By Creative Media Times

On the same week that Warner Bros. Pictures’ “IT: Chapter 2” is dominating the boxoffice comes the release of the final trailer to the studio’s upcoming horror film “Doctor Sleep”.

“Doctor Sleep” is an adaptation of Stephen King’s 2013 novel of the same name, a sequel to King’s 1977 novel The Shining.

The film follows Danny (played by Ewan McGregor) now an adult and an alcoholic, battling the childhood trauma that he experienced with his family in the Overlook Hotel, the main setting of The Shining’s film adaptation from Stanley Kubrick.

The trailer is heavy on nostalgia and references, featuring some iconic characters and images from the original Kubrick film, such as the Overlook Hotel, the Grady twins, young Danny riding his bike through the haunted hallways of the hotel, the elevator gushing blood, and room 237 giving viewers a peek of what may be inside.

We also see a new character named Abra, a teenage girl who has her own powerful extrasensory gift. “I don’t know about magic. I’ve always called it the shining,” McGregor’s Danny tells Abra when the two meet in person for the first time.

There’s a couple of characters from 1980 original that are returning in the sequel: Dick Hallorann, the former cook from the Overlook Hotel and Danny’s mother Wendy, this time played by Carl Lumbly and Alex Essoe respectively.

The film is written and directed by Mike Flanagan, who directed the highly underrated Oculus from 2013, the hit Netflix series “The Haunting of the Hill House” as well as King’s “Gerald’s Game” for Netflix.

The film co-stars Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Fallout), Bruce Greenwood (Gerald’s Game), and child actress Kyliegh Curran. “Doctor Sleep” is set to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures on November 8, 2019.

The Guardian.com called The Toys That Made Us “A show that will make you rethink your childhood,”

“The first two seasons of Netflix’s The Toys That Made Us gave us a fascinating look at how everything from Lego to Transformers came to be,” said Gizmodo.
