All-New Alien Stories Coming To Marvel Comics In March

aiphotostudio aiphotoimaging Writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artist Salvador Larroca come together to launch ALIEN #1

Earlier this year, Marvel Comics announced that all-new comics set in the iconic—and terrifying—world of the Alien franchise would be launching in 2021. Today, Marvel is excited to announce that the first of these ventures into never-before-seen corners of the Alien universe will arrive this March with ALIEN #1.

Written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson (Empyre: Captain America) with art by Salvador Larroca (Doctor Doom), ALIEN #1 will be a thrilling addition to the incredible legacy that began with the groundbreaking 1979 film. Featuring both new and classic characters from Earth and beyond, this bold take on the Alien mythology will entertain both longtime fans and newcomers to the legendary horror/science-fiction saga.

The new story will feature a Weyland-Yutani mercenary named Gabriel Cruz as he battles a deadly new breed of xenomorph with the survival of his child hanging in the balance. No stranger to infusing horror with the classic Marvel storytelling, Phillip Kennedy Johnson most recently shocked readers in the terrifying MARVEL ZOMBIES: RESURRECTION series.

“Just as a reader and fan, I was as excited as anyone when I heard the franchise was coming to Marvel, and when they asked me to WRITE THE LAUNCH, I was floored. I’ve been training my whole life for this gig without knowing it,” Johnson said. “Ever since seeing Ridley Scott’s ALIEN at way too young an age, I’ve been OBSESSED with the xenomorph, the single most iconic representation of terror on film.”

The documentary is directed by New York filmmaker Hao Wu (People’s Republic of Desire) and two China-based journalists, Weixi Chen and “Anonymous,” who took enormous personal risks to film at four different hospitals, 76 DAYS world-premiered at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival where it topped IndieWire’s Critics Poll as Best Documentary of the festival.

76 DAYS was directed by Hao Wu, Weixi Chen and Anonymous. It was produced by Hao Wu and Jean Tsien. The film was written and edited by Hao Wu and shot by Anonymous and Weixi Chen. David Prowse, The Original Darth Vader, Dies At 85

By Armando

David Prowse, best known for playing the original Darth Vader in the Star Wars movies, has passed away on Sunday, his management company announced. He was 85.

Prowse suffered from Alzheimer’s. According to his daughter, he had been in the hospital for two weeks. He passed away due to coronavirus complications.

“It’s with great regret and heart-wrenching sadness for us and million of fans around the world, to announce that our client DAVE PROWSE M.B.E. has passed away at the age of 85,” Bowington Management said on Twitter Sunday.

David played the role of Frankenstein’s monster in Casino Royale (1967) which marked his debut, and the Hammer horrors The Horror of Frankenstein (1970) and Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (1974).

Prowse also appeared in Stanley Kubrick’s classic dystopian crime film A Clockwork Orange (1971) which many consider as his breakthrough role. In the film, he played as gang member and Frank Alexander’s manservant and bodyguard Julian. It is in this role that he was noticed by George Lucas, who wrote and directed the Star Wars films. He was originally offered two parts, the first one was that of Chewbacca before eventually landing the role of the iconic villain Darth Vader.

As Darth Vader in Star Wars, Prowse wore the iconic black suit and helmet while actor James Earl Jones provided the voice. Standing at a staggering height of 6’7”, Prowse’s physicality made him appear instantly threatening and provides a striking contrast to the rest of the cast and characters in the trilogy.

“I said I wasn’t too interested because I didn’t want to wear a mask. I wanted to play a part where people could see my face.” David said about the role of Chewbacca. “But I never realized the villain would also be wearing a mask!”

“David brought a physicality to Darth Vader that was essential for the character,” Star Wars creator George Lucas said in a statement posted on StarWars.com. “He made Vader leap off the page and on to the big screen, with an imposing stature and movement performance to match the intensity and undercurrent of Vader’s presence. David was up for anything and contributed to the success of what would become a memorable, tragic figure. May he rest in peace.”

A bodybuilder and weightlifting champion, Prowse also had a hand in helping Christopher Reeves achieve his physique for the 1978 superhero film by Richard Donner “Superman”, having trained Reeves for six weeks. “He was fantastic. He was a very lovely person,” Prowse said of Reeve. “We were like brothers, we got along so well together. And during the course of the period I had him, I took him from 170 pounds when we started and he was 212 [pounds] when he went into the suit.”

The Eternals Face Thanos In Marvel Comics’ Brand-New Eternals #1 Trailer

The Eternals begin a new age under writer Kieron Gillen and artist Esad Ribić this January

Mastermind creators Kieron Gillen (The Wicked + The Divine, Uncanny X-Men, Thor) and Esad Ribić (Secret Wars, King Thor) join forces this January to redefine one of Marvel’s most fascinating mythologies in ETERNALS #1. Readers will experience Jack Kirby’s classic creation in an epic saga that will enthrall both longtime fans of the Eternals and those experiencing these enigmatic heroes for the first time. The groundbreaking new series will reintroduce classic Eternals characters for a new age, reveal new members of the legendary group, and feature the return of one of Marvel’s most feared villains, the Mad Titan himself, Thanos. Check out a brand-new trailer for the debut issue featuring never-before-seen artwork and covers.

“The joy of Eternals for me is it’s just so much, but it’s also such a clean, accessible book in terms of, “These are people who we’re going to hang around with, they’re fun to be with, and oh my god! They’re in trouble,”’ Gillen told Comic Book Resources. “It does everything I love a Marvel book doing in terms of action, romance, and philosophy of ideas, but it’s also absolutely me coming back to Marvel with the kinds of skills I’ve honed over in indie books like Die, The Wicked & the Divine and Once and Future; that way of thinking about how to make a universe really pop.” Learn what it truly means to be ETERNAL when the highly-anticipated debut issue hits stands on January 6th.

Chris Hemsworth Is Officially Hulk Hogan-Level Jacked in New Photo

Like plenty of other leading men, Chis Hemsworth likes to post his workouts on social media, and has even got a side hustle going with his own fitness and wellbeing app, Centr, where he and his team share the workouts and meal plans that have helped him get into godlike shape to play Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

But in his latest progress pic on Instagram, in which he is captured flipping a tire (or “cheat day donut” as his tongue-in-cheek caption reads), the Australian actor is looking even more jacked than he did on the set of the Thor and Avengers movies. It’s in preparation for his next big project, where he will play ’80s and ’90s wrestling star Hulk Hogan.

Hemsworth has previously stated in interviews that his role in the upcoming Hogan biopic will require him to bulk up and physically transform more than any of his previous gigs. “I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor,” he said. “There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude… I will also have to do a deep dive into the rabbit hole of the wrestling world, which I’m really looking forward to doing.”

PS5 Has Just Over 650GB Usable Storage Space

After the operating system takes up the space it needs, you’ll have far less than the rated 825GB SSD suggests.

The PlayStation 5 launches in just over a week on November 12, but Sony still hasn’t concretely stated just how much of the SSD will be available for you to install games on. We have confirmed that it’s going to be just over 650GB.

The PS5 ships with a custom 825GB SSD, but not all of that will be free for game installations. The console’s operating system needs some of that space from the get-go. We’ve tested it ourselves, and there is roughly 667GB free to install games.

That’s less than the Xbox Series X, but that was always likely to be the case considering the PS5’s smaller SSD overall. The Xbox Series X ships with a 1TB SSD, with its operating system reducing available storage down to 802GB.
