The American Film Institute has announced its honorees of AFI Awards 2018 this morning, revealing 10 films and 10 television shows as honorees of the 2018 AFI Awards.
AFI Awards celebrate the year’s most outstanding achievements in the art of the moving image — with 10 films and 10 television programs “deemed culturally and artistically significant” selected by AFI trustees, scholars, artists and critics.
AFI also recognizes Alfonso Cuaron’s latest film “Roma” with an AFI Special Award, given that it falls outside of AFI’s criteria as a foreign-language film.
AFI AWARDS selections are made through a jury process where AFI Trustees, scholars, artists and critics determine the year’s most outstanding achievements and provide contextual rationales for each selection.
The AFI Awards 2018 is set to be presented at an annual private luncheon in Los Angeles on Jan. 4, 2019.
