Marvel Announces New WEAPON H Series

Coming this March from Greg Park and Cory Smith

The Weapon X program has done it, at the cost of their own destruction: they’ve completed their biggest and most dangerous experiment yet, a hybrid of Hulk and Wolverine DNA known as WEAPON H. Now, he’s ready to take on the world – and he means business.

Following his debut in TOTALLY AWESOME HULK and WEAPON X’S “Weapon of Mutant Destruction” summer crossover, Marvel is excited to announce that the character will star in a new ongoing series coming in March from Totally Awesome Hulk/Weapon X writer Greg Pak and X-Men: Blue artist Cory Smith.

“Greg Pak wrote one of the biggest and most action packed Hulk stories ever in Planet Hulk…so it only made sense that he brought those same sensibilities to Weapon H,” said series editor Darren Shan. “We’re going to pit him against the biggest threats of the Marvel Universe that you can imagine, starting with a new kind of Wendigo! And then Cory Smith is going to multiply that times ten and smash the hell out of it with his incredible art! Whether you read his first appearance in Weapon X: The Hunt for Weapon H or not, you’re going to find that we only scratched the surface of this bombastic new character.”

The mystery deepens this January

His return to the Marvel Universe was just the beginning, and the Infinity Stone he holds could change everything. Now, the questions begin: Why was he searching for the Infinity Stone? How did he escape his adamantium prison? Where is Wolverine, and what is he hiding?

The answers will begin to unravel in 2018, but fans will catch glimpses of their favorite mutant in special after-credit scenes at the end of key Marvel titles. Appearing in select issues starting in January, some of Marvel’s most acclaimed artists will tease the whereabouts of the adamantium-clawed mutant with tantalizing teaser panels – and it’s all connected.

It’s all leading to something—but what?”

“Mystery has always been part of Wolverine’s DNA,” added senior editor Mark Paniccia. “He’s one of Marvel’s most interesting and popular characters. Fans are going to have a helluva ride finding out where he’s been and how he came back.”

Marvel Announces LOCKJAW Comic

The teleporting canine will embark on a whirlwind adventure in his new series.

He’s been a breakout star since he could bark, a faithful sidekick to his Inhuman masters, and has helped protect an empire. Now, he’s got his own mission to take on — Marvel is excited to announce LOCKJAW #1, a new four-part mini written by Daniel Kibblesmith with art by Carlos Villa.

When Lockjaw finds out his long-lost siblings are in danger, he’ll embark on a journey which will result in a teleporting, mind-bending adventure. “We’re super excited about this book. Daniel Kibblesmith—a hilarious writer who works on The Late Show and recently published a book called Santa’s Husband—has cooked up an incredibly fun, heart-filled romp around the Marvel Universe,” said series editor Wil Moss. “Back in BLACK BOLT #5, writer Saladin Ahmed and artist Frazer Irving finally settled the mystery of Lockjaw’s origin: He’s definitely a dog, birthed by a dog, who happens to have the power of teleportation.

But now we’re going even further: How did Lockjaw obtain that power? And is he really the only Inhuman dog in the universe? So in issue #1, we find out that Lockjaw’s got brothers and sisters.

From there, we’ll be following everybody’s best friend around the universe as he tracks down his siblings—along with a surprising companion, D-Man. It’s gonna be a fantastic ride, all beautifully illustrated by up-and-comer Carlos Villa. So grab on to the leash and come with.”

Ben Mendelsohn In Talks To Play Villain Role In “Captain Marvel”

By Creative Media Times

Mendelsohn as Director Krennic in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Lucasfilm Ltd.

It looks like production of Captain Marvel is starting to develop. Australian actor Paul Benjamin Mendelsohn is said to be in negotiations for the main villain role in Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel, Variety reports.

The exact identity of the villain character that he will be playing has not been revealed, although Marvel Studios head Kevin Fiege mentioned at this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con that the movie’s villains will be the The Skrulls.

The actor is recently in plenty of high profile projects, including last year’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story where he played Orson Krennic, the director of advanced weapons research for the imperial military, in later this year’s Darkest Hour as King George VI, and next year’s Steven Spielberg directed Ready Player One as Nolan Sorrento.

Last year, it was announced that Brie Larson will be playing Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, the very first ever female-centric superhero movie in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Danvers is a skilled test pilot whose DNA is melded with that of an alien after an accident. Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury is also set to appear in the film.

Produced by Kevin Feige and to be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind and Half-Nelson), Captain Marvel is set to be released on March 8, 2019.
