Sony Confirms Tom Hardy’s Return For Venom Sequel

By Creative Media Times

“I can say that Tom Hardy will be back, magnificently playing that character as no-one else can,” one of Venom film’s producers Amy Pascal told Fandango last week regarding Hardy reprising his role as Eddie Brock aka Venom.

Hardy of starred in the 2018 film, based on the Marvel character of the same name. Though the film wasn’t a hit with critics, it was a surprise at the boxoffice, grossing $855 million worldwide making the sequel somewhat inevitable.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the sequel was in development, though Hardy’s involvement at that time was not confirmed.

Venom’s character is a sentient alien symbiote which needs a human host to survive, eventually giving the host enhanced powers. Eddie Brock is the investigative journalist who comes in contact and bonded with the alien and become Venom, who is both vengeful and a hero to those he deems innocent.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, “Venom” is one of 2018’s biggest success stories.

Though its logical for the film to be directed by the man who made is so highly successful, it has not been announced whether Fleischer will be returning to helm. He is said to being production on a Zombieland sequel, which ironically also stars Harrelson.

Venom 2 is supposedly set for release on October 2, 2020.

J.J. Abrams and Henry Abrams Make Their Marvel Comics Debut With SPIDER-MAN #1

The filmmaker will be joined by superstar artists Sara Pichelli and Olivier Coipel.

This September, legendary filmmaker J.J. Abrams (Star Wars, Star Trek, Super 8) and his son Henry Abrams will co-write SPIDER-MAN, a five-issue limited series years in the making, with art by the incredible Sara Pichelli (Miles Morales, Guardians Of The Galaxy) and cover art by the amazing Olivier Coipel.

Speaking to The New York Times, J.J. teased, “The story shows Peter Parker in a way you haven’t seen him before.”

“Spider-Man is one of those super heroes where the more you read about him, for me at least, the less I understand him,” added Henry. “He’s so anti-everything that you’d expect from a hero. I think Stan Lee said something about putting the human in superhuman. That is what we’re trying to do.”

Marvel Set To Return To SDCC’s Hall H Next Month

By Creative Media Times

It looks like Marvel is set to return to San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H this year, Deadline is reporting.

Fans may remember that Marvel Studios skipped the stage last year, the first time this has happened since 2015, just a few months after the release of Infinity War, president of Marvel Studios stating that they didn’t have much to show.

The previous year, in 2017, the studio gave fans a taste of its upcoming blockbusters “Black Panther,” “Thor: Ragnorok,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp” and “Captain Marvel.”

Just after the release of this year’s Avengers: Engdame, and the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home, marking the end of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 3, fans are already wondering: What’s Next?

Though not a lot of details were revealed, Marvel is clearly confident enough to come back and showcase projects that are set to follow Endgame. We may possibly hear announcements and details regarding the studio’s upcoming official slate of films and release dates to hopefully give us a clue of what’s in store for fans in the future.

There is also Black Widow that we know is already in production, so we are most likely to learn more about the film’s production details, release date and (hopefully) even a clip or two. The film is set to bring back Scarlett Johansson as the title character/Natasha Romanoff,

There is also Disney Plus, Disney’s upcoming streaming service, and how it may potentially platform Marvel characters into upcoming movies and shows.

San Diego Comic-Con is set to take place from July 18 – 21, begining with a Preview Night on Wednesday, July 17.

Marvel Reveals the Future of the X-Men in Final ‘X-Men: The Seminal Moments’ Documentary Short Episode

Just a month before the highly-anticipated debut of HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X, Marvel released an all-new episode of X-MEN: THE SEMINAL MOMENTS featuring series writer Jonathan Hickman and other legendary Marvel creators as they shed light on what the future holds for mutants across the universe.

“When Jonathan set out to tell this story, he set out to change the way people think about the Marvel mutants forever…it really shakes things up,” said X-Men Editor Jordan D. White. “The first time he told it to me, I was upset. I was like, ‘We can’t do that. We CAN’T do that.’ The more I thought about it, the more I went, ‘Wait hang on, what if we did…’”

As HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X is set to shake the Marvel Universe to its core, Hickman revealed what fans might expect from the series:

“There’s no alternate universe version of the X-Men that we’re doing – time travel, or any of that kind of stuff. This is a very cause and effect, very linear narratively straightforward story,” said Hickman. “I think the most important thing about X-Men is obviously the way that individual readers identify with the characters…my obligation is to be true to the character even though you’re putting them in new circumstances and be true to the spirit of what it means to write an X-Men book.”

HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X – written by Jonathan Hickman with art by Marvel’s Young Gun Pepe Larraz, R.B. Silva, and colorist Marte Gracia – will build from every major X-Men milestone since 1963 up through the current X-Men series and storylines fans know and love, including some of Marvel’s most iconic characters from over the decades. The next seminal moment in the history of the X-Men begins this July.

Retro Themed First Poster For ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Revealed

By Creative Media Times

Warner Bros may be skipping the big stages at this summer San Diego Comic-Con, but that didn’t stop director Patty Jenkins from hyping next year’s Wonder Woman 1984.
