The racing film 2DIE4 will hit select IMAX theaters on April 16, offering an immersive look at one of motorsport’s most intense competitions.

Shot during the 24 Hours of Le Mans at real race speed—with no reenactments—the film follows driver Felipe Nasr as he navigates a high-stakes endurance race. After a strong start in practice, a mechanical failure pushes him to the back of the grid, turning his race into a relentless fight to climb back through the field.

Directed by Salomão and André Abdala, 2DIE4 focuses on the mental and physical demands of racing, capturing the pressure, precision, and risk that define the sport at its highest level.

The IMAX release emphasizes the film’s immersive approach, placing audiences as close as possible to the experience of being on the track.

Rock band Godsmack will release their new live album, Live at Mohegan Sun, on May 1, 2026, capturing a powerful hometown-adjacent performance from their sold-out show in Connecticut in October 2024.

The album features a career-spanning setlist, including fan favorites like “Awake,” “Cryin’ Like a Bitch!!,” “Under Your Scars,” and “I Stand Alone,” along with the newly released live version of “When Legends Rise.” Known for their high-energy performances, the band leans into both their heavier hits and more emotional moments throughout the recording.

VR Documentary Lacuna to Make International Premiere at SXSW

The VR documentary Lacuna will make its international premiere at SXSW as part of the festival’s XR Spotlight section.

Directed by Maartje Wegdam and Nienke Huitenga Broeren and produced by Corine Meijers, the immersive project invites viewers into the fragmented memories of Sonja, as she reflects on a moment of loss during the Second World War. The experience combines conversations with Sonja, animation, 3D modeling, and personal footage to explore how memory—and the absence of it—can shape identity.

Lacuna previously world premiered at the Cannes Film Festival’s Cannes Immersive program and is designed as both a remembrance project and a broader reflection on how people reconstruct the past through imagination.

The VR experience will be available during SXSW’s XR Spotlight Experiences, running daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Fairmont Hotel in Austin through March 17.

Deicidium Graphic Novel Series Gets First Look Ahead of 2026 Launch

deicidiumA first look at the upcoming graphic novel series Deicidium from Ram V, Evan Cagle, and Anand “RK” Radhakrishnan has been revealed ahead of its planned release later this year.

The new series, published in English by Image Comics, will debut globally following a six-figure worldwide publishing deal with French publisher Morgen. A special preview edition will also be available at select comic shops during Free Comic Book Day in May, giving readers an early look at the project.

Set in a future where faith has become currency, Deicidium imagines a world ruled by a powerful alliance between corporations and religious institutions. When ancient gods begin manifesting through ordinary people, those in power move quickly to hunt them down, sparking a conflict between control and belief.

The series blends influences from urban fantasy, science fiction, global mythology, manga, and European comics, while featuring striking black-and-white artwork from Cagle and Radhakrishnan.

The first collected volume of Deicidium is scheduled to arrive at comic shops on September 23, 2026, with a wider bookstore release following in October.

The tour will span more than 50 shows across North America, Europe, and the U.K., beginning in June 2026. Lil’ Kim and Mya will appear as special guests on select North American dates, while Lil’ Kim will also join the group for shows in Europe and the U.K.

The reunion brings Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, and Ashley Roberts back together for their largest international run in years, marking a new chapter for the pop group that helped define early-2000s pop culture.

Alongside the tour announcement, the group has released a new single, “Club Song,” their first new recording since 2019’s “React.” The track was produced by Mike Sabath and co-written by Scherzinger with Sabath, Caroline Ailin, and Solly. Fans can also expect reissues of the band’s classic albums PCD and Doll Domination, arriving May 8, 2026, including expanded editions and new vinyl releases. Artist presale sign-ups are now open, with general ticket sales beginning March 20 at 10 a.m. local time.

The documentary centers on the Nuxalk Nation in Bella Coola, where the disappearance of the ooligan fish becomes a starting point for examining deeper histories tied to land, culture, and survival. Through testimony, watercolor animation, and archival footage, the film explores how Indigenous voices confront historical erasure while reclaiming their stories and relationship with the natural world.

Directed and produced by Slts’lani Banchi Hanuse, the film has been in development since 2014 and builds on Hanuse’s work as a filmmaker and co-founder of Nuxalk Radio, which supports language revitalization and cultural preservation.

The series will feature weekly screenings of some of Lubitsch’s most influential films, including Ninotchka, The Shop Around the Corner, Trouble in Paradise, Heaven Can Wait, Design for Living, Cluny Brown, and To Be or Not to Be, among others.

Known for his sophisticated humor and subtle visual storytelling, Lubitsch helped shape the modern romantic comedy and movie musical after moving from Germany to Hollywood in the early 20th century. His distinctive style became widely known as “The Lubitsch Touch.”

The series will run Tuesday evenings with select additional screenings, highlighting Lubitsch’s enduring influence on classic Hollywood cinema.

As they share their scientific knowledge and ancestral traditions, the film explores how environmental change, deforestation, and limited opportunities threaten both ecosystems and cultural knowledge.

Blending documentary storytelling with speculative elements, the film looks at how mushrooms and mycelial networks can offer new ways of thinking about coexistence and the future.

The first teaser trailer has arrived for Lanterns, the upcoming DC Universe series based on the Green Lantern characters.

The HBO Max show follows John Stewart and Hal Jordan, two intergalactic peacekeepers who are drawn into a mysterious murder investigation in the American heartland. The series is set to premiere this August as part of DC Studios’ expanding television lineup under James Gunn’s DCU.

Aaron Pierre stars as John Stewart, a new recruit to the Green Lantern Corps, while Kyle Chandler plays veteran Lantern Hal Jordan. The cast also includes Kelly Macdonald, Nathan Fillion, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Ulrich Thomsen, Nicole Ari Parker, Jason Ritter, Sherman Augustus, and Paul Ben-Victor.

Rather than focusing solely on cosmic adventures, Lanterns has been described as a grounded mystery drama, pairing the two heroes in a story that blends superhero mythology with a detective-style narrative.

Lin Shaye and Bill Moseley Lead Horror-Comedy Scared to Death Ahead of March Theatrical Release

Scared to Death, written and directed by Scottish filmmaker Paul Boyd (I, Challenger, We Are Gathered Here Today), will open in cinemas across North America on March 13, 2026, with screenings planned in major markets including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Miami, Seattle, Boston, and Atlanta.

The film blends horror and dark comedy and stars Shaye (Insidious) and Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) alongside Olivier Paris, Victoria Konefal, B.J. Minor, Jade Chynoweth, Rae Dawn Chong, and Lucinda Jenney. Rock frontman Kurt Deimer also appears in the film as a character known as “The Grog.”

Positioned as a wild genre ride, Scared to Death draws inspiration from classic horror and cult horror-comedies alike. The project also features cinematography by Steven Poster, ASC, editing by Ed Shiers, and a score by Misha Segal, with original music contributions from Deimer.

The film will be released by Atlas Distribution Company.
