New Trailer For “Teen Titans Go! To the Movies” Released

By Creative Media Times

Warner Bros. Animation

Ever wonder how Nicholas Cage’s Superman would have been like? Now we have an idea, (well sort of) with the actor voicing Superman in “Teen Titans Go! To the Movies” as Warner Bros. released an amusing full length trailer for the film.

The trailer shows plenty of never-before-seen footage satirizing superhero genre and films, while also honoring some of our favorite superhero characters.

As previously announced, the voice cast of the TV series are reprising their roles, including Scott Menville as Robin, Greg Cipes as Beast Boy, Khary Payton as Cyborg, Tara Strong as Raven and Hynden Walch as Starfire. There is also Will Arnett as supervillain and Robin’s arch nemesis Slade; not to be confused with Deadpool or he won’t be happy.

“Teen Titans Go! To the Movies” also feature Batman (Jimmy Kimmel), Green Lantern (Lil Yachty), Wonder Woman (Halsey) and to Robin’s dismay, Alfred, introduced by Batman on a trailer within the trailer as his “best friend” and “greatest ally.”

“Its time to clean up this city,” says a buffed Alfred moving like a superhero himself.

Directed by Teen Titans Go! writers Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail, “Teen Titans Go! To The Movies” is set for release on July 27.

“The Boss” is on fire this week, first fueling record vinyl sales per Billboard earlier this week, and now a Special Tony Award from American Theatre Wing on the way.

“Springsteen On Broadway” is the artist’s concert residency at the Walter Kerr Theatre in New York City where Springsteen performs solo, playing piano and guitar, and reminisce incidents from the eponymous autobiography “Born to Run, based on his iconic third studio album.

Springsteen performed five shows every week from Tuesday though Saturday. Springsteen’s wife and bandmate Patti Scialfa also appeared at most shows.

The show was an instant success when it debuted, with Rolling Stone calling it “one of the most compelling and profound shows by a rock musician in recent memory.” The run started on October 3, 2017 and was originally supposed to end on November 26, 2017, but was extended twice due to high demand, once to this summer June 30, 2018, and again until December 15, 2018. Given the circumstances, don’t be surprised if the show gets another extension.

“Bruce Springsteen will receive his Special Tony Award for his ongoing engagement Springsteen on Broadway, a once-in-a-lifetime theatregoing experience for the Broadway stage, allowing fans an intimate look at a music idol,” the New York City-based organization announced. Also receiving a special award is John Leguizamo, who is being honored “for his body of work and for his commitment to the theatre, bringing diverse stories and audiences to Broadway for three decades.”

The Tony Awards is set to take place on June 10 at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The ceremony will broadcast live on CBS and will be hosted by Sara Bareilles and Josh Groban.

Fans of the hit Netflix series is in for some surprises, as well as a few new additions to the cast.

As seen on the black and white teaser, production started on April 20 and brings back the recurring cast of “old friends” as well “a few strangers” as they come together for a new adventure.

Some of these include Cary Elwes (remember Wesley?: “You’re trying to kidnap what I’ve rightfully stolen”) as the major of the fictional rural town of Hawkins, Indiana more concerned about his image than the people of his town. This ought to be fun.

Also new are Jake Busey who will be seen in this summer’s new “The Predator” film, and Maya Hawke as one of the new leads. She is set to play Robin, an “alternative girl” bored with her mundane job until she stumbles onto one of the town secrets.

Created by The Duffer Brothers, “Stranger Things” has been a huge hit for the streaming giant and one of Netflix’s most watched series. In 2017, the show won the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, and has been AFI’s TV Program of the Year for two consecutive years for both of its first two season.

Last December, Netflix announced that there will be a third season consisting of eight episodes. Hopefully we will get a teaser later this fall.

“A Quiet Place” Sequel In The Works

By Creative Media Times

Paramount Pictures

The sequel to the surprise hit of the year, “A Quiet Place” is officially “in the works”, Paramount Pictures chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos announced.

Speaking at the annual CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas, Gianopulos made the announcement as the studio presented its upcoming films.

“If you told me five years ago that an almost silent film starring the very funny guy Jim from The Office would have been a hit at Paramount, I would have said, “well I should go work at Paramount,'” Gianopulos told the audience.

He is of course talking about John Krasinski, who co-starred in the film with real-life wife Emily Blunt. Krasinski also directed the film as well as wrote the script with Bryan Woods and Scott Beck.

Krasinski will next be seen in “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,” the upcoming tv series from Paramount Television, and the company wasted no time tightening its relations with the actor by renewing the show before it premieres on Amazon Video later this August.

“A Quiet Place” has so far earned over $135 million at the domestic box-office at a modest budget of $17 million, and was the number one film this past weekend. The release date for the sequel has not yet been announced.

New Trailer For Venom Reveals Tom Hardy’s Title Character

By Creative Media Times

Columbia Pictures – Sony Pictures Releasing

Sony has released a new trailer for its upcoming superhero film “Venom,” and after the first look teaser released last February, its great to finally see the character this time.

Here we see Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock learning about his new powers, then later morphing into the scary alien symbiote with superpowers.

We also get to see a glimpse of Michelle Williams’ Ann Weying, Eddie’s girlfriend and Riz Ahmed’s character Dr. Carlton Drake, the bad guy and leader of Life Foundation doing some pretty nefarious experiments.

In the comics, Venom’s character is a sentient alien symbiote which needs a human host to survive, eventually giving the host enhanced powers. Eddie Brock is the journalist who comes in contact and bonded with the alien and become Venom, who is both vengeful and a hero to those he deems innocent.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad), “Venom” is a spin-off from the Spider-Man movie franchise, and is the first in Sony’s Marvel Universe, though in a recent interview, film producer and president of Marvle Studios Kevin Feige stated that the film will not be part of Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Venom” is set for release on October 5.

Following its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, new Ed Sheeran documentary “Songwriter” has been bought by Apple, Deadline is reporting.

The deal is said to be in the “low to mid-seven figures” which would involve global rights to the doc including release on Apple’s multiple platforms. No specific release date was announced.

The documentary is currently screening at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City where it premiered in the US this week. This followed the world premiere at the 68th Berlinale International Film Festival last February.

According to initial reviews, the documentary is an intimate look at the hit-maker as he carve out his career including his writing and musical process during tours.

The film is directed by his Sheeran’s own cousin Murray Cummings, who is apparently video-documenting the musician’s career the past few years, from his beginnings as well as during his tours around the globe and recording sessions, leading up to the release of Sheeran’s third studio album “Divide.”

For the tech giant, the acquisition is another addition to its growing exclusive content which includes similar docs such as Taylor Swift’s 189 World Tour and a behind the scenes look at the production of Pink’s “Beautiful Trauma”.
