Netflix has released a grittier and darker new trailer for Marvel’s “The Punisher” Season 2, a week after announcing its release date on Jan. 18.“Let me be what I’m meant to be,” Frank Castle/Punisher says on the trailer. The new season involves Castle saving a girl from being murdered and forcing him to come back to his life as The Punisher.
The trailer is intense and more violent than the last trailer released last October, promising an action-packed season two. Also released yesterday was an intense cool new poster for the season, see image on the right.
Starring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, the crime-fighting vigilante taking revenge for the death of his family and then later uses violent and lethal ways in fighting the criminal underworld. The series is a spin-off of 2016’s Marvel’s Daredevil, also from Netflix where Bernthal’s also played the same character.
Produced by Marvel Television and created by Steve Lightfoot, “The Punisher” new season has 13 episodes and also stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls), Jason R Moore (A Lonely Place for Dying), Michael Nathanson (The Wolf of Wall Street), Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood), Ben Barnes (Westworld, The Chronicles of Narnia), Amber Rose Revah (Emerald City) and Jaime Ray Newman (Bates Motel).
