NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — As one of the largest cable blackouts in the industry’s history stretches into its fourth day, analysts say they’re not holding their breath for a quick resolution. Both sides have too much at stake in a fight affecting 20 million DirecTV customers.
Many industry watchers think Viacom will get some of the fee increase it’s seeking, but not without a protracted battle.

The American Idol Live summer tour kicked off on Friday night in Detroit and it’s safe to say that Phillip Phillips fans were in for a surprise: they had to wait until the end of the second act for the Season 11 winner to make his first appearance. Still, they were rewarded for their patience.

The company enters the video game business with a product that offers hundreds of streaming games through Gaikai cloud service.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., is showcasing its cloud-based gaming service, Samsung Cloud Gaming, at E3 2012. Samsung Cloud Gaming, developed in partnership with Gaikai, a leading cloud-based video game platform provider, will stream a mix of family-friendly and AAA video games directly to owners of 2012 Samsung LED 7000 series and up Smart TVs in the U.S. Within 12 months over 40 million TVs are expected to be able to stream console-quality hit games without needing any console or upgrades.

(Reuters) – Hollie Cavanagh was sent home from top-rated TV talent show “American Idol” on Thursday night after singing “I Can’t Make You Love Me” – a song choice that proved prophetic.
Cavanagh closed out the show by performing Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb,” remaining composed while fellow contestant Joshua Ledet wept as she sang.
Almost 70 million votes were cast to determine Thursday’s outcome. Audience voting was based on performances on Wednesday night’s episode during which contestants sang songs by artists from California, followed by songs they wished they had written.
