Bong Joon Ho’s latest sci-fi comedy “Mickey 17”, has released its first trailer.

The highly-anticipated film Joon Ho’s first film following the success of 2019’s Parasite, the first foreign-language film to win the Oscar for Best Picture.

The feature adaptation of the science fiction novel by Edward Ashton follows the story of Mickey 17, an “expendable”, who is a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact.

Along with Pattinson, the film also stars Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, and Thomas Turgoose.

“Mickey 17” is set for release on January 31, 2025.

Adam Driver Leads In Francis Ford Coppola’s Sci-Fi Epic “Megalopolis”

megalopolisThe new trailer for the ambitious sci-fi film Francis Ford Coppola, “Megalopolis” has been released.

Adam Driver leads the all-star cast, which includes Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Jason Schwartzman, Talia Shire, Grace VanderWaal, Laurence Fishburne.

Coppola wrote the script as well as financed the film which has been in development for decades.

Here’s the film’s synopsis:
Genius artist Cesar Catilina seeks to leap the City of New Rome into a utopian, idealistic future, while his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero, remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero, the mayor’s daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.

“Megalopolis” will release in U.S. cinemas on September 27th.

The upcoming is directed by, Jordan Downey (ThanksKilling, The Head Hunter), Christian Long & Justin Long (Jeepers Creepers, Barbarian), Justin Martinez (V/H/S, Southbound), Virat Pal (Recapture), Kate Siegel (Hush, “The Haunting of Hill House”), and a special presentation by Jay Cheel (How To Build A Time Machine).

V/H/S/BEYOND premiers on Shudder on October 4th.

Trailer: New Sci-Fi Film ‘Uglies’ Movie Adaption

ugliesFrom the page to the screen. The film based on the novel Uglies by Scott Westerfeld is set to be released on Netflix.

Here, a world in which a compulsory operation wipes out physical differences and makes everyone pretty. Joey King plays the protagonist in the film.

Directed by McG, “Uglies” film was penned by Emmy-nominated screenwriters Krista Vernoff (Grey’s Anatomy, Shameless, Charmed) and Vanessa Taylor (The Shape of Water, Game of Thrones, Divergent).

Aslo in the film are Brianne Tju, Laverne Cox, Chase Stokes, Kevin Miles, Kelly Gale, Keith Powers, Will Poston, Jillian Murray, Jan Luis Castellanos.

Uglies is set for release on September 13, 2024 on Netflix.

Alien: Romulus: Terrifying Extended Footage Revealed At Comic-Con 2024

Director and co-writer Fede Álvarez and the cast of “Alien: Romulus” showcased never-before-seen footage at Hall H during San Diego Comic-Con, featuring terrifying Facehuggers and a Chestburster.

The franchise’s original director, Ridley Scott, served as producer for this installment. Actors Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, and Spike Fearn joined the panel to discuss their experiences working on the upcoming 20th Century Studios film.

“While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe,” reads the synopsis.

“Alien: Romulus” is set between the events of “Alien” and its sequel “Aliens,” though Álvarez noted, “You really don’t need to have seen the other ones to understand or enjoy this film. If you have, it’s a treat. If you haven’t, then I’m jealous.”

Álvarez also answered video questions from surprise guests Ridley Scott and Guillermo Del Toro.

“Alien: Romulus” is set to open in theaters on August 16.

Described as “a twist-filled multi-verse thriller”, the film is from Graham Hughes (Death Of A Vlogger).

It stars Annabel Logan, Joma West, Josie Rogers, Paddy Kondracki, Stephen Beavis and Graham Hughes.

Hostile Dimensions follows two documentary filmmakers who decide to investigate the disappearance of a graffiti artist who seemingly ‘vanished’. Lionsgate’s Sci-Fi Thriller “The Abandon” Has A New Trailer, Poster

theabandon“The Abandon” is directed by Jason Satterlund and written by Dwain Worrell, and stars Jonathan Rosenthal, Tamara Perry, Regis Terencio, Dan Kyle, and Priscilla Avila.

In the upcoming sci-fi thriller, U.S. soldier Miles Willis is shot and wounded during an intense firefight in Iraq, and he awakens to find himself trapped in a strange, colorless cube with nothing inside but his own combat gear.

As time passes, the cube begins to change: fluctuating extreme temperatures, random shifts of gravity, and strange writing appearing on the walls. His only communication is with a mystery woman who calls him on his satellite phone, claiming to be trapped in a similar space. As the clock ticks, the two of them must figure out who has them, why they were taken, and how to escape.

The Abandon is set to arrive in select cinemas on July 19th, and then followed by a digital release on July 30th.

Ignite Films Drops Reconstructed Long Lost Rrailer Dor 1945 WWII Classic “The Story Of GI Joe”

Today, Ignite Films, which released the 2023 critically acclaimed, multi-award-winning* 4K restoration of the 1953 sci-fi classic INVADERS FROM MARS, dropped the reconstructed 1945 trailer and the new poster for its next release, the 1945 WWII classic THE STORY OF G.I. JOE.

The long-lost trailer, which has never been online before, in any condition, has been meticulously reconstructed by Ignite Films using the severely damaged 1945 original nitrate trailer provided by the Library of Congress.

The Ignite Films 2024 enhanced restoration of Director William A. Wellman’s 1945 classic WWII war film, THE STORY OF G.I. JOE starring Robert Mitchum and Burgess Meredith, will be released on HD Blu-ray and DVD on July 25, 2024. The 2024 enhanced restoration, spearheaded by film restoration supervisor Greg Kimble, also includes a full restoration of the audio by John Polito of Audio Mechanics.
