Oni Press to Release Claus Daniel Herrmann’s ‘Pink Monsters’ in May 2026

Pink-MonstersOni Press will publish Pink Monsters, the U.S. debut of German comics creator Claus Daniel Herrmann, in May 2026, just ahead of Pride Month. The coming-of-age and coming-out graphic novel explores adolescence, self-discovery, and the courage to reject harmful influences.

The story follows Frank, a 14-year-old artist whose monster drawings make him popular at school while he quietly grapples with his sexual identity. When his father’s depression leads the family to a spiritual healer, Frank is drawn into her world of false promises, until her intolerance forces him to choose between family approval and self-acceptance.

A finalist for the Berthold Leibinger Comic Book Prize, Pink Monsters is described as a “graphic medicine” story in the tradition of Fun Home and Lighter Than My Shadow. Herrmann said he hopes readers “find an impressive example of self-determination in a world where others exploit belief to tear down boundaries.”

Edited by Christopher Cerasi, Pink Monsters marks Oni Press’s continued focus on emotionally resonant, inclusive storytelling.
