The “Thor” actor is set to play wrestler and 80s’ icon Hulk Hogan in the upcoming biopic.

The film is set to be directed by “The Hangover” film series creator and director Todd Phillips, with the script to be written by Scott Silver. The two recently worked together in the upcoming “The Joker” film with stars Joaquin Phoenix.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the biopic will focus on the rise of Hogan’s popularity and is described as an origin story of Hulkamania.

Hogan, who’s real name is Terry Gene Bollea, has had a big following in the world of pro wrestling, which later led to his mainstream popularity. He also appeared in a few films including his portrayal as “Thunderlips” in “Rocky III” (1982). In recent years, Hogan has faced scandals which led to WWE, formerly WWF (World Wrestling Federation) terminating his contract.

Bollea himself will be serving as a consultant on the movie as well as executive producer.

Hemsworth will next be seen in this summer’s upcoming blockbusters “Avengers: Endgame” and “Men in Black: International” and possibly later this year in “Dhaka”.
