‘Fate of the Furious’ Races to Break Global Record B.O.

By AI Creative Media

Universal Pictures

Its a massive weekend for Diesel and company this weekend at the boxoffice, as ‘Fate of the Furious’ speeds ahead of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ with global opening weekend boxoffice record. Final numbers are yet to be released, but estimates this morning put the action-thriller at of $532.5 million, ahead of Awakens’ $529 million. Furious achieve the feat despite declining domestic gross, underlining the importance of global market in Hollywood, especially in China where Furious grossed $190m this weekend (China was not part of Awakens’ weekend debut).

“There is no market that hasn’t had a strong reception,” said Duncan Clark, Universal’s president of international distribution. “Whatever culture, whatever language, whatever country, we seem to have found a home.”

Furious is also the second 2017 film to cross the $100m domestic barrier, after last month’s Beauty and the Beast.

That said, Diesel announced early last year that more movies in the Fast and Furious franchise are planned for release in 2019 and 2021. Distributed by Universal Pictures, the series began with the late Paul Walker in the 2001 film ‘The Fast and the Furious’.

Carrie Fisher Won’t Be In “Star Wars: Episode IX”

By Creative Media Times

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed to Good Morning America that Carrie Fisher would not be in the 2019 film “Episode IX “, putting to rest all rumors surrounding the film’s production after Carrie Fisher’s death. This means that this December’s “The Last Jedi” will be the actress’ final Star Wars film.

This clarification comes a week after Todd Fisher, Carrie’s brother recently told reporters that that Carrie Fisher will make an appearance in Episoe IX, and that he and Billie Lourd, Carrie’s daughter, have granted permission to use her recent footage. “He was probably confused because we finished everything in VIII, and Carrie is absolutely phenomenal in the movie. We’re so happy that we were able to complete shooting in the summer,” Kennedy said Friday.

Here’s a tribute video showing first glimpse of the late Carrie Fisher on ‘The Last Jedi’ set. The video debuted at a Star Wars Celebration currently happening Orlando, FL until Sunday.

“She was imperfect in many ways, but her imperfections and willingness to speak about them are what made her more than perfect,” Billie Lourd, said at the event.

New Epic ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Trailer is here

By AI Creative Media

“It’s time for the Jedi to end,” Luke tells Rey at the end of the epic first trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which premiered at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando on Friday before it was released online. The trailer was live streamed on the YouTube channel of Star Wars.

The Last Jedi is the follow-up to a small relatively unknown movie “The Force Awakens”, and continues to where Awakens left off. Of course that small movie is currently the highest grossing domestic film of all time.

Here we see Rey (Daisy Ridley) on a remote island where she first met the legendary Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), as well as intergalactic space battles, the Millenium Falcon, glimpses of Finn and Kylo Ren, and what seem like an epic battle between the Resistance and The First Order.

Directed by Rian Johnson (“Looper”), also features Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Finn (John Boyega) Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Later this year, we will find out if “The Last Jedi” lives up to the hype. “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” arrives in theaters on Dec. 15. Watch the trailer below:

There are twenty-five years, Dr. Dre, who aims to bring the 2024 Olympic Games to Los Angeles dropped his first solo song, “Deep Cover”, also known as “187.” The song, which appeared on the soundtrack of Laurence Fishburne and Jeff Goldblum film “Deep Cover”, was the first version by Dre post-N.W.A. and was a perfect fit for the future of the now legendary “Death Row Records”.

“Deep cover” album reached # 166 on the Billboard 200, which is far below the success Dre has achieved with Eazy-E, Ice Cube, MC Ren and DJ Yella. However, the record established Dre as a breakout artist and introduced the world to Snoop Doggy Dogg – who last week helped induct 2Pac in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Continue reading

‘Deadpool 2’ Update: Josh Brolin set to play Cable

By AI Creative Media

Josh Brolin has signed on to play the time-traveling mutant Cable, Hollywood Reporter confirmed Wednesday. Yes, many of us know Brolin is also set to supervillain Thanos in “Avengers: Infinity War”, so we might be in for a perplexing situation here.

Indeed, it didn’t take long for many fans to react, including Wade Wilson / Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, who took to twitter to joke about the fresh casting announcement: “The fuck, Fox! You can’t play 2 characters in the same universe!! Josh Brolin was in Sicario and I was in Sabrina The Teenage Witch.

But come on, it’s not like Ryan isn’t guilty of the same for taking multiple Marvel roles. Before Deadpool, he was Hannibal King in “Blade: Trinity”. And of course then there’s a few others such as Michael B. Jordan, who was Human Torch in ‘Fantastic Four’ (2015) and will be the “Black Panther” in 2018, and Chris Evans who played Johnny Storm in the original “Fantastic Four” films before he was Captain America. Of course knowing Reynolds, this is all in jest.

Rumors as to who will play Cable circulated since the character was announced in Deadpool’s post-credit scene; actors including Pierce Brosnan, Nathan Fillion, and Michael Shannon come to mind.

David Leitch is directing Deadpool 2, and is expected to hit theaters in 2018.
