Colin Stetson’s Score for Netflix’s “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” Gets Digital and Vinyl Release

something-very-badThe soundtrack drops just one day after the psychological horror series hit Netflix. Colin Stetson, the composer behind Hereditary and The Menu, was the first creative hire on Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, and his score is just as unsettling as the show itself.

Creator Haley Z. Boston brought Stetson on early. His unique sound became integral to the series about a bride who can’t shake the feeling that marrying her fiancé is a terrible mistake.

“This music ranges all over the place, from the dreadful to the tragic, the sexy to the unhinged and comedic,” Stetson says. “There are tracks here that thunder and howl like metal dirges and others like sorrowful lamentations, several are up tempo techno tracks weaving like a heist caper.”

The score is available digitally now across all platforms. For physical media fans, there’s a limited vinyl edition through At The Movies, 300 individually numbered copies on red and black swirled 180-gram vinyl. The 16-track album includes pieces like “Death and the cold cold ground,” “The witness,” and the title track.

Stetson is known for transforming the saxophone through extended techniques, circular breathing, and multiphonics. He creates dense soundscapes without overdubs or loops. Beyond his solo work and collaborations with Bon Iver and Arcade Fire, he’s carved out a space in horror scoring. His work on Hereditary proved he understands how to make audiences feel deeply uncomfortable.

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen follows Rachel (Camila Morrone) in the five days before her wedding at her fiancé’s family vacation home. It’s psychological horror centered on that most terrifying question: what if you’re marrying the wrong person?

The series is streaming on Netflix now.

Aidan Langford Returns to Acting in Netflix’s “Roommates” After Stepping Away to Focus on Music and Art

After taking a break from the screen to chase his music and painting dreams, 24-year-old actor Aidan Langford is back, and he’s landing right in the middle of a Happy Madison comedy.

Langford stars in Netflix’s “Roommates,” dropping globally on April 17th. The film comes from Happy Madison and features Sadie Sandler and Chloe East as college roommates whose friendship devolves into passive-aggressive warfare. Langford plays Alex, whose relationship with his sister Devon (Sandler) shifts when she heads off to college. The role also marks an unexpected coming-out journey for his character as he gets caught between Devon and her chaotic roommate Celeste (East).

You might remember Langford from his earlier work in Dolly Parton’s “Heartstrings” on Netflix, Yen Tan’s indie drama “1985” with Cory Michael Smith, or Amazon’s “Bosch.” The Stella Adler-trained actor got his start in Dallas theater as a kid and has worked alongside heavyweights like Melissa Leo and Virginia Madsen.

Langford walked away from all that to pursue other creative outlets. He’s been grinding on his music (three singles out, an EP in the works leaning into early 2000s indie rock) and working toward his BFA in painting. He’s also passionate about LGBTQ rights, which makes his return with this particular role feel pretty intentional.

The “Roommates” cast is stacked with names like Natasha Lyonne, Nick Kroll, Carol Kane, Janeane Garofalo, Storm Reid, and Bailee Madison. Director Chandler Levack helms the project with a script from Jimmy Fowlie and Ceara Jane O’Sullivan.

For indie creators who’ve ever stepped away from one art form to chase another, Langford’s journey hits different. Sometimes you need to disappear into your painting studio or your music project before you can come back to the thing that started it all. This feels like one of those full-circle moments.

Peaky Blinders Returns With Feature Film The Immortal Man, Set for March Release

Peaky-BlindersPeaky Blinders is officially returning with a new feature film, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, continuing the story of Tommy Shelby four years after the series concluded on Netflix. The film is written by series creator Steven Knight and directed by Tom Harper, who previously helmed episodes of the original series.

Set in 1940 against the backdrop of World War II, The Immortal Man follows Tommy Shelby, played once again by Cillian Murphy, as he is drawn out of self-imposed exile to confront what may be his most consequential reckoning yet. According to the film’s synopsis, the future of both the Shelby family and the country hangs in the balance as Tommy is forced to confront his past, his legacy, and the cost of survival in a world at war.

Murphy, who recently won an Academy Award for Oppenheimer, said returning to the role felt unfinished. “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me,” he noted in a statement released alongside the teaser. Steven Knight has described the film as an “explosive chapter” in the Peaky Blinders saga, positioning it as a wartime continuation rather than a quiet epilogue.

The cast includes returning and new faces, with Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth, Sophie Rundle, Stephen Graham, and others joining Murphy. The film is produced in association with BBC Film and continues Netflix’s strategy of extending marquee series through standalone features.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will debut in select theaters on March 6, 2026, before arriving on Netflix on March 20, 2026.
