NF Announces New Dates For The Search Tour

After the launch of his current sold out tour, chart-topping rapper NF announces the second North American leg of The Search Tour, produced by Live Nation. The Search Tour’s 28-date Spring 2020 run kicks off April 9 in Little Rock, AR and runs through major North American markets where the current tour will not visit – Chicago, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and more – wrapping May 18 in San Diego, CA.

To ensure tickets get in to the hands of fans and not scalpers or bots, the tour has partnered with Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan platform. Fans can register now through Sunday, September 22nd at 10pm PT HERE for the Verified Fan presale. Registered fans who receive a code will have access to purchase tickets before the general public on Tuesday September 24th at 10am local time through Thursday, September 26th 10pm local time.

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, September 27th at 10am local time at NFREALMUSIC.COM. See below for full itinerary.

Last month NF topped the Billboard charts with The Search, with another #1 album. Released on NF Real Music/Caroline, The Search sold 130,000 equivalent album units, and now boasts more than 120 million global streams to date.

The Search marks the rapper’s second consecutive album to land at number one on the Billboard Top 200, following 2017’s multi-platinum certified Perception. NF surprised the industry with Perception’s success, and he proved his place atop the music industry with The Search – selling more than double his previous chart-topping album.

Operating from outside of the system and against all odds, NF quietly and unassumingly ascended to the forefront of modern hip-hop on his own terms. Forbes noted “NF’s success speaks to what can be done these days outside of the traditional system.” For tickets and dates to NF – The Search Tour 2020, go to NFRealMusic.Com

Original Motion Picture Score for “Blade” By Mark Isham Released From Varèse Sarabande

The Original Motion Picture Score for Blade by award winning composer Mark Isham will be released for the first time on vinyl on October 4th and is now available for pre-order on VareseSarabande.com and other retailers.

The LP’s jacket, inner sleeve and labels thematically reference the infamous warehouse rave scene of the vampire thriller from 1998.

“The score needed to have an epic super-hero quality but with a very dark side, and it needed to be able to live next to the world of 1990’s electronica – The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Aphex Twin etc.

We used a large symphony orchestra supplemented with electronic synthesizers and samplers for a unique musical vocabulary. I did a lot of sampling of weird and strange sounds as well as programming my synth collection. We recorded at the Fox stage which is a wonderful room. The process went smoothly as I had worked tirelessly with Steve Norrington, the director, during the demo process to get what we both wanted.

We recorded some sections of the score in smaller segments – to be edited together later – as a lot of the visual effects hadn’t been completed yet. I think my two favorite musical moments are The Death Of Whistler – which is very emotional scene, a bit unexpected in a film of this genre – and the culmination of the Ritual For Summoning La Magra. This is big and bombastic and just plain FUN!” – Mark Isham, composer.

The movie starring Wesley Snipes in one of his signature roles was a commercial success that spawned two sequels, and the films have enjoyed cult status for many years. At this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, Marvel Studios got movie-goers amped by announcing a Blade reboot in 2020, with none other than accomplished actor Mahershala Ali to star, who took home Oscars for both Moonlight and Greenbook.

Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) celebrated the 22nd annual Conducting Workshop for Visual Media Composers with a final scoring session at Nathan Barr’s Bandrika Studios in Tarzana, California on August 24. Over a two-week period, the selected composers participated in several training sessions focusing on proper beat patterns, tempo changes and cueing, as well as one-on-one conducting experience with Richman. At the finale, the selected composers conducted film cues by Jerry Goldsmith and John Williams, to picture, with a 32-piece orchestra.

This year’s class of participant composers included Jongnic Bontemps (United Skates), Kris Bowers (Green Book), Ryan Elder (Rick and Morty), Sage Lewis (Operator), Jason Nesmith (The Ellen DeGeneres Show), Adam Schoenberg (Graceland), Kevin Smithers (Monster Island) and Dara Taylor (Colewell).

Finneas Announces North American Headlining Tour Dates, Starting October 15

Finneas Releases new track ‘Shelter’, Confirms Debut Ep ‘Blood Harmony’ To Be Released October 4, while Billie Eilish’s ‘Bad Guy’ — Produced By Finneas – Earns Number 1 Spot In The Billboard Hot 100 This Week. Listen to ‘Shelter’ here.

Today, 22-year-old songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist FINNEAS, releases his latest song “Shelter.” With this release comes the exciting news of his highly awaited debut EP, Blood Harmony, out on October 4.

Here’s Finneas North American tour dates:

10/05 – Austin City Limits Music Festival – Austin, TX
10/15 – August Hall – San Francisco, CA
10/17 – Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever – Los Angeles, CA
10/20 – Thalia Hall – Chicago, IL
10/23 – Warsaw – Brooklyn, NY
10/24 – Paradise Rock Club – Boston, MA

In speaking about the new song, FINNEAS reveals, “I wrote this song a couple years ago and just let it percolate for a while, seeing how it would age,” he explains. “When I looked through my music to release this year, I came across the demo and was pleasantly surprised to find I still liked it.” He continues. “Usually, I get bored of my stuff almost immediately. I wanted this song to have an urgency to it when I recorded it, the same way that the lyrics do—the kind of feverish feeling that accompanies loving someone.”

Explaining the title of his EP, FINNEASshares, “I would love for this title to remain ambiguous to listeners and for everyone to be able to imbue it with their own meaning and justification.” As the sole collaborator, producer and elder brother to Billie Eilish, he elaborates. “Themost common use of the term blood harmony is an English expression for what it sounds like when siblings sing together, that biologic chemistry—I think that speaks for itself.”

“The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance” Soundtrack Volumnes 1 & 2 Being Released Friday Aug 30

The Soundtrack Volumes 1 & 2 for The Jim Henson Company’s fantasy adventure series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance are being released digitally on Friday, August 30 (the same day as the series launch on Netflix), and on CD and vinyl in the coming months, exclusively through Music.Film Recordings.

Volume 1 of the soundtrack features original music by composer Daniel Pemberton, while Volume 2 consists of tracks by Pemberton and by Samuel Sim.

“I approached the music the same way I approached the filming and the puppetry,” explains executive producer and director Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me, The Incredible Hulk). “I wanted somebody to come on this journey that would be willing to take big risks. I wanted something that was almost tribal. I wanted to hear the strings being plucked and the skin wrapped over the drum. At the same time, I wanted somebody who could write beautiful melodies, understood music, and was a lover of beautiful music. I wanted someone who would approach it in a very organic way and who would tell the story through the score. My search led me to Daniel.”

The 10-episode show is a prequel to the groundbreaking 1982 fan favorite The Dark Crystal, and takes place many years before the events of the film. Leading the voice cast in the series will be Kingsman star Taron Egerton, The Witch actress Anya Taylor-Joy and Game of Thrones’ Nathalie Emmanuel, as ‘Gelfling’ heroes Rian, Brea and Deet. Star Wars’ Mark Hamill, Harry Potter’s Helena Bonham-Carter, Tomb Raider star Alicia Vikander and Outlander’s Caitriona Balfe provide additional voice performances in the new fantasy epic. The series was shot in the U.K., and stars an ensemble of fantastical, state-of-the-art creatures brought to life by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop™ and designed by Brian Froud, the original feature’s conceptual designer.
