Michael B Jordan Brings Brings Creed III To IMAXIn his directorial debut, Director Michael B. Jordan brings IMAX audiences up close and personal with Creed III, in theatres nationwide March 3, 2023.

As the first sports film in the Filmed for IMAX program, Creed III was shot with IMAX-certified digital cameras and features 26 minutes of IMAX exclusive Expanded Aspect Ratio (EAR). IMAX audiences will feel as if they’re inside the ring with Adonis Creed – taking in every bead of sweat and feeling the impact of each punch.

Creed III is the third installment in the successful franchise and is Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut.

The film is from the screenplay by Keenan Coogler & Zach Baylin. In addition to Michael B. Jordan, the film also stars Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors, Wood Harris, Mila Davis-Kent, Florian Munteanu, and Phylicia Rashad

After dominating the boxing world, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) has been thriving in both his career and family life. In this heist film, Annabel, a leader of a secret organization engaged in the recovery of priceless artwork, assembles a ragtag crew of art thieves to recover a Monet, Picasso, Degas, and Van Gogh stolen by Nazis during WWII and now in the possession of neo-Nazi billionaire oligarch Otto Huizen.

As the planned heist approaches, loyalties are tested when the crew learns the real reason behind Annabel’s search for the long-lost paintings.

The film stars Lisa Vidal as Annabel (Grey’s Anatomy), along with Cam Gigandet (Without Remorse), Jaina Lee Ortiz (ABC’s Station 19), Carlos Miranda (The Bling Ring), Danube Hermosillo (The Bold and the Beautiful), Benjamin Schnau (The Current War) and Sasha Merci (De Lo Mio).

The film is set for release in theaters, On Digital and On Demand on March 10th, 2023.

KOKOMO CITY won the audience award for NEXT.

“Shazam! Fury Of The Gods” New Trailer Released

Shazam Fury Of The Gods New Trailer ReleasedWarner Bros has revealed a second official trailer for their superhero sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The upcoming DC film sequel stars Zachary Levi, Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, and Rachel Ziegler. Levi of course plays the titular character, while many original cast members, such as Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Djimon Hounsou, will reprise their roles.

Along with the trailer, director David F. Sanberg has also revealed the brand new poster.

The film continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word “SHAZAM!,” is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam.

The sequel to the 2019 DC superhero film introduces the nefarious Daughters of Atlas: Lucy Liu plays Kalypso, while Oscar winner Helen Mirren stars as her sister Hespera.

“Shazam! Fury of the Gods” is set for release on March 17, 2023.

2023 Sundance Film Festival Begins Online Programming Over 130 Films Available on the Sundance Online Platform

The 2023 Sundance Film Festival online program begins today, Tuesday, January 24, with over 130 films available for on demand viewing. Audiences came together in-person in Park City, Salt Lake City, and Sundance Resort with talent including Anne Hathaway, Cynthia Erivo, Jason Momoa, Michael J. Fox, Daisy Ridley, Alexander Skarsgård, Dakota Johnson, Randall Park, Brooke Shields, and more making their way to the snow for their world premieres.

With the Festival online program beginning today, audiences across the country can now join in the action by participating in the discovery of this year’s most impactful independent stories. Tickets can be purchased on https://festival.sundance.org/tickets.

A Record Five Films from The New Yorker Studios Receive Academy Award Nominations

Record Five Films from The New Yorker Studios Receive Oscar NomsA record five films from The New Yorker Studios have been nominated for the 95th Academy Awards, joining a list of nominees announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this morning.

Every shorts category is represented: “Stranger at the Gate” and “Haulout” were nominated in the Documentary Short Film category; “Ice Merchants” and “The Flying Sailor” were nominated in the Animated Short Film category; and “Night Ride” was nominated in the Live Action Short Film category.

To date, fifteen New Yorker films have been nominated for an Oscar. The Academy Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 12th, in Los Angeles.

“The Pod Generation”: Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and Sundance Institute Award for Science-in-Film Initiative Recipient

The Pod Generation Sundance Institute AwardToday at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, the Sundance Institute Science-in-Film initiative with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation celebrated this year’s Feature Film Prize winner The Pod Generation directed by Sophie Barthes and the recipients of three artist grants for three projects in development at a reception following the Appetite for Construction panel at Filmmaker Lodge.

The four filmmakers received a total of $70,000 in funding through the Prize and three artist grants for projects: Benjy Steinberg for The Professor and the Spy received the Sloan Episodic Fellowship, Cynthia Lowen for Light Mass Energy received the Sloan Development Fellowship, and John Lopez for Incompleteness received the Sloan Commissioning Grant.

“We are in a global moment where arts institutions must recognize in actionable ways the importance of science in media and entertainment, and Sundance Institute is deeply appreciative that the Sloan Foundation has partnered with us over two decades to nurture that connection,” said Sundance Institute CEO Joana Vicente.”It’s a pleasure to return to Park City to honor our Feature Film Prize winner and grantees after an engaging chat with our panelists about the bright side of science and the ethical framework scientists and storytellers alike bring to the idea of progress.”
