“Stranger Things” Season 3 New Details

By Creative Media Times

Netflix

Netflix is starting the year announcing the return everyone’s favorite sci-fi/horror hit “Stranger Things.”

“One Summer Can Change Everything”, says season 3’s one sheet which was also posted by the streaming service on Twitter, announcing the season’s return on July 4th.

There’s also a brief teaser which accompanied the announcement, featuring a throwback footage of Dick Clark’s 1985 New Year’s count down. The video broadcast slowly turns upside down as the fireworks explode and gets interrupted by choppy tv intermissions with creepy computer messages such as “when blue and yellow meet in the west” and “SilverCatFeeds.”

Recently in early December, Netflix release the season’s episode titles, though not a lot about the plot has been revealed so far.

The series is a huge breakout success for the streaming giant. Set in fictitious Hawkins, Indiana, with season 3 set one year after the events of season two and, according to David Harbour, is said to be influenced by the 1985 action-comedy Fletch.

With the massive success of “Avengers: Infinity Wars” and “Black Panther,” its really not a surprise that Disney has emerged as the top studio at the global boxoffice.

According to Variety, Disney raked in $7.33 billion at the global boxoffice in 2018, nearly matching the $7.61 billion record it achieved in 2016.

Netflix Releases “The Punisher” Season 2 Teaser And Info

By Creative Media Times

Marvel Television

Frank Castle is back to work, as Marvel Entertainment has now released the official trailer for “The Punisher” season 2.

Fans should recall that season 1 was mostly about Frank Castle’s background and the origin of his identity which led him to killing criminals. Season 2 will see Castle fully embody that character as a vigilante hero.

The teaser below does not specify the release date, although The Punisher is part of the January “New to Netflix US” slate recently released by Netflix.

The Punisher season 2 is brings back Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, who after receiving a pardon for his crimes in season 1 is back in action. Though the trailer didn’t reveal a lot, he is most likely doing a rematch with villain Billy Russo, known as Jigsaw in the comics.

Also in the series are Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, Josh Stewart as John Pilgrim. Floriana Lima as Krista Dumont, Annette O’Toole as Eliza Schultz, Giogia Whigham as Amy Bendix, and Corbin Bernsen as Anderson Schultz.

Although Netflix has cancelled some of Marvel’s series, including Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil, the action packed series of The Punisher has been generally received positively by critics. Along with Jessica Jones, they are the last of the remaining Marvel series in the streaming platform.

It should be noted of course that Disney, which owns Marvel Entertainment, is set to launch its own streaming service.

First Look At Guy Ritchie’s “Aladdin”

By Creative Media Times

Walt Disney Studios
Motion Pictures

Ever since the first trailer for “Aladdin” was released in October, people had been wondering about the look of Will Smith’s Genie. Now that has been revealed in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, right there on the cover. And he is not blue.

Judging by the cover, Smith will be in the film in full physical form and not in CGI, at least not completely. And though Smith’s look on the mag cover had surprised many fans, the Suicide Squad actor was quick to clarify it on twitter.

BAM!! First look at the Genie, Princess Jasmine, and #Aladdin! Check Me Rockin’ the Top Knot Ponytail Vibes in @entertainmentweekly. (and yes, I’m gonna be BLUE! 🙂 This is how the Genie is in Human / Disguise Form. My character will be CGI most of the movie.)

Also on the cover are Mena Massoud as the titular character, and Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine. Aladdin is the live-action remake of the 1992 animated film of the same name.

Similar to recent Disney remake Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin is set to feature songs from the animated 1992 original. That film’s soundtrack was created by composer Alan Menken and songwriters Tim Rice and the late Howard Ashman.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, who also wrote the screenplay with John August, the film also features new characters such as Prince Anders and Dalia that are set to be played by Billy Magnussen and Nasim Pedrad respectively.

“Aladdin” is set to be released on Nov. 24, 2019.
