Top Gun 2 Is “Definitely Happening”

By Creative Media Times

It looks like Maverick is coming back for more aerial stunts to the danger zone. Tom Cruise confirmed the long-rumored sequel during a recent interview with Australian morning show “Sunrise“. “It is definitely happening,” Cruise said when asked about the sequel. The actor also mentioned that the movie will go in production next year.

Directed by the late Tony Scott, the romantic military action drama was released in 1986 and became a commercial success, grossing $356 million. That movie’s soundtrack sold 9x multiplatinum and somewhat responsible for the film’s legacy after the song “Take My Breath Away” won Academy Award for Best Original Song. Despite mixed critical reception during its release, the movie has since developed a cult following and later won for an IMAX 3D re-release in 2013.

Talk of a Top Gun sequel have been on and off for years.Cruise’s character “Maverick”, a cocky and reckless navy pilot who later fell for flight instructor Charlie, is one of the most well known in the actor’s filmography. But planned stalled after Tony Scott, younger brother of film director Sir Ridley Scott, committed suicide in 2012. Sequel plans picked up again after it was reported that writer Justin Marks was in negotiations to work on the sequel.

Joss Whedon Taking Over “Justice League” After Zack Snyder Family Tragedy

By Creative Media Times

Zack Snyder

In a sad turn of events, director Zack Snyder who has been linchpin of DC Cinematic Universe for a few years now, is stepping away from his roles in the upcoming ‘Justice League’ movie to deal with a family tragedy.

Snyder and wife producer Deborah Snyder recently lost their daughter Autumn to suicide last March. “In my mind, I thought it was a cathartic thing to go back to work, to just bury myself and see if that was the way through it,” said Snyder to the Hollywood Reporter.

“What they are going through is unimaginable, and my heart, our hearts, go out to them,” says Warner Bros. Pictures president Toby Emmerich.

Stepping in to finish the project will be Joss Whedon, who recently made news for making a jump from Marvel to DC and is “nearing a deal to write, direct and produce” a Batgirl movie as part of DC’s Extended Universe.

According to the article, Whedon will work through post and the “shooting of some additional scenes,” and that the movie is still scheduled for its original Nov.17 release date.

Tom Hardy to lead in Sony’s “Venom” movie

By Creative Media Times

“Zombieland” director Ruben Fleischer is also set to direct the Spider-man spinoff. Sony Pictures took to Twitter to post the announcement and start of production this fall, with a picture of Hardy himself wearing a Venom shirt.

The English actor was last involved in a comic book movie in 2012’s “The Dark Knight Rises,” where he played another supervillain Bane. He recently reunited with that film’s director Christopher Nolan for this July’s “Dunkirk”.

Similarly, this is not the first time that Venom’s character is getting a cinematic treatment. He was the main villain in 2007’s Spider-Man, where he was played by Topher Grace.

In the comics, the character debuted in 1998’s The Amazing Spider-Man #300. Originally conceived as a supervillain, the symbiote sentient alien character has since evolved into an antihero. David S. Goyer originally planned a similar motion picture production before the film rights went to Sony.

According to Exhibitor Relations, Venom is slated for October 5, 2018 release.

The BET Awards, which will be held for this present year June 25 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, discharged the designations Monday (May 15). Maybe one of the greatest storylines of the night will be the Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma quarrel.

In spite of the fact that Remy Ma as of late guaranteed that the “dust has settled,” she will go up against the authoritative champion for the title of Best Female Hip Hop Artist. Nicki Minaj has won the honor each year since 2010. Prior to her run, the Terror Squad vet did make a case for the title. Other ladies incorporated into the class this year are Missy Elliott, Young M.A, and Cardi B.

Beyoncé drives all chosen people with seven gestures. Queen Bey is up for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and twice for Best Collaboration with Kendrick Lamar for “Freedom” and DJ Khaled’s “Shinning” with her better half Jay Z. She’s likewise designated for Video of the Year for “Sorry,” which gave her a gesture for Video Director of the Year close by Kahlil Joseph. Her widely praised LEMONADE collection is up for Album of the Year.

Chance The Rapper is up for four honors, including Album of the Year for “Coloring Book”, and Best New Artist where he’ll go up against Cardi B, Young M.A, Khalid, and 21 Savage.
