San Diego Comic-Con will host a special panel on Thursday, July 24, featuring Dan Aykroyd and the creative team behind the new Blues Brothers graphic novel, The Escape of Joliet Jake. The event, set for 4:15–5:15 PM in the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, celebrates the 45th anniversary of the original Blues Brothers film.
Aykroyd will be joined by writers Stella Aykroyd, Luke Pisano, and James Werner, along with Z2 Comics’ Rantz Hoseley and Josh Bernstein. The graphic novel is billed as a sequel to the 1980 film, developed with input from the Aykroyd family and the late Judy Belushi Pisano. Artist Felipe Sobriero leads the visuals for the project.
The Escape of Joliet Jake marks the first major expansion of the Blues Brothers universe in years, with plans for additional media projects underway. The panel will explore the creative process behind adapting the franchise into graphic form and honoring its legacy.
