The 2025 American Music Awards aired live from Fontainebleau Las Vegas, with Jennifer Lopez returning as host and kicking off the night with a performance. The fan-voted show recognized the year’s most popular artists across genres, with nominees based on streaming, sales, airplay, and touring data.
Billie Eilish was the night’s standout, winning all seven of her nominated categories, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Eilish, currently on tour in Europe, did not attend the ceremony.
Kendrick Lamar led with 10 nominations but won only one (Favorite Hip-Hop Song for “Not Like Us”). Post Malone, nominated in eight categories, took home two awards including Favorite Country Song and Favorite Male Country Artist.
Beyoncé won Best Country Album, following previous snubs at other country music awards. Taylor Swift, despite six nominations, was absent from the event and did not take home any awards.
This year’s performers included Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Lainey Wilson, Gloria Estefan, Benson Boone, Renée Rapp, and others. Janet Jackson received the Icon Award; Rod Stewart was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award and closed the show with a performance.
Presenters featured a mix of artists and personalities, including Shaboozey, Dan + Shay, Cara Delevingne, Tiffany Haddish, and Wayne Brady.
