Historical Drama Nuremberg Set for November Theatrical Release

Nuremberg-posterSony Pictures Classics has announced a November 7 theatrical release for Nuremberg, a World War II courtroom drama starring Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, and Michael Shannon. Written and directed by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac), the film revisits the Nuremberg Trials through the perspective of U.S. Army psychiatrist Douglas Kelley (Malek), who is assigned to assess the mental state of captured Nazi leaders.

The story centers on Kelley’s psychological standoff with Hermann Göring (Crowe), Hitler’s former second-in-command, as prosecutors prepare to put the Nazi regime on trial for war crimes. Shannon portrays chief prosecutor Robert H. Jackson, tasked with bringing the atrocities of the Holocaust to light before an international tribunal.

Nuremberg is based on Jack El-Hai’s nonfiction book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist and was filmed as a historical thriller with a focus on character dynamics inside the prison and courtroom. The cast also includes Leo Woodall, Richard E. Grant, John Slattery, Colin Hanks, and Wrenn Schmidt.

The film is produced by Walden Media and Bluestone Entertainment and was acquired by Sony Pictures Classics earlier this year. Its release is timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the historic trials.

Dylan O’Brien and James Sweeney Star in Offbeat Grief Comedy Twinless, In Theaters This Fall

Twinless-movie-posterThe official trailer has dropped for Twinless, an offbeat dark comedy centered on twin loss and the strange connections that form in its wake. Written and directed by James Sweeney (Straight Up), the film arrives in theaters on September 5, 2025, distributed by Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate.

Dylan O’Brien stars as Roman, a reserved man grappling with the death of his identical twin, Rocky. When he joins a support group for twin bereavement, he meets Dennis (played by Sweeney), another recent twin loss survivor. As the two grow closer, their bond blurs the lines between friendship, identity, and unresolved grief.

Though the film leans into humor, the trailer hints at more unsettling undercurrents, with both men harboring secrets that could threaten the fragile connection they’ve formed. The cast includes Lauren Graham, Aisling Franciosi, Chris Perfetti, Tasha Smith, and Wrenn Schmidt.

After earning the Audience Award at Sundance 2025, Twinless garnered attention for both its performances and its willingness to explore complicated emotional territory with sharp, often uncomfortable wit.

Avatar-Fire-and-Ash20th Century Studios has released the first trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third installment in James Cameron’s sci-fi franchise. The film is set to premiere exclusively in theaters on December 19, 2025.

The trailer introduces a new Na’vi clan known as the Mangkwan—or Ash People—a tribe that resides among volcanic terrain and appears to possess the ability to control fire. The Ash People, led by a new character named Varang (played by Oona Chaplin), are portrayed as hostile toward the film’s central family and seem to align with returning antagonist Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang).

The story continues the saga of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) as they seek new allies in the face of rising threats. Returning characters include Kiri (Sigourney Weaver), Spider (Jack Champion), and members of the aquatic Metkayina clan introduced in Avatar: The Way of Water. The footage shows the Sully family joining forces with the Metkayina to confront the growing power of the Ash People.

According to Cameron, the film explores “more challenging emotional territory” and expands the scope of Pandora by highlighting internal conflicts between Na’vi clans. The trailer ends with Varang confronting Kiri, saying, “Your goddess has no dominion here,” marking a shift toward darker ideological themes in the series.

Avatar: Fire and Ash follows the box office success of The Way of Water, which earned over $2.3 billion globally. The Avatar franchise has collectively grossed more than $5.2 billion to date.
